Response: I really wish you would have talked to me about this first, especially since delivery confirmation says they arrived over a month ago. Because the books were to be from a thrift store, of course the spines would be cracked. I didn't read the books first and so didn't know pages would come out of some of them, and I don't think a few drops of water on covers of cookbooks (which is the only type of book you requested) is unexpected, seeing as they were previously used while people were cooking in their kitchens with them. However, I would have gladly sent different ones to make it up if you told me you were unhappy, but you never replied to my two emails when I asked you if they'd been received. :(

The 50's era books have nothing but white children in them, so I thought it was interesting to see how quickly that mentality changed in the books from the 60's. Black children weren't depicted proportionally to their population, but a few tokens were scattered throughout. (No Asian, Hispanic, or Native American kids yet, though.) Thanks for the heart!
