Comment: Is it Christmas already? I thought it was when I opened this amazing package! Love the quilt block so now I will start collecting them! Fabrics and fibres are lovely. Sheep and bunny wonderful. Beautiful stitch markers. So many goodies thankyou! And a special thankyou to your very kind (bald) angora bunny for giving me his gorgeous soft fur.
Response: Yay! Very glad to hear my package got through customs and the postal strike! Overjoyed to hear that you like the contents! :) And I get the fur from my bunny by combing and brushing him, so he rarely gets bald. ;) It takes longer to collect the fur that way (which is why most people shave their bunnies) but it's good cuddle time for him.

Response: The one that I got from my partner was little, too. :) It was cute! I decided to use the large cardboard tube from a roll of packing tape because it was so sturdy and I had no idea what else I could do with it! Overall, I think smaller is often more successful. Glad you liked it!

Response: Yep. That is the LEAST zentangled any of my zentangles have ever been. I had SUCH a tough time with that one for some reason!! maybe because I couldn't figure out how to sub-divide the vegetable for patterning... good challenge for me, though!

Comment: I apologize for not rating sooner. I LOVE my owl pincushion. The embroidery detail is perfect - almost to perfect to use as a pin cushion. He will sit prowdly on my bedroom mirror with my other prized owl possessions :)
Response: Yes, I designed him to be a little like a "dottee" doll. ;) I just didn't put all the beads and trinkets all over him like I would do for a dottee swap because the beads and trinkets would diminish his ability to be used as a pincushion. ;) I'm so glad you like him!

My first three are so scraggly....your beautiful pincushions next to those really show them up! But at least I finally got the hang of it. NOT as nice as yours...but I'm happy with them. It was fun!

All my new books explain why my husband had to carry and unwrap my package for me - I feel my handwriting improving already! The Crane Stationary is out of this world - I've never seen these styles before. I always drool over it when I find a store that sells it...lol Thank you for an outstanding and thoughtful package!!!

Yes, I made the quill pens. I hope they still work well-- I didn't get a chance to test them before sending them. I made them years and years ago from feathers from my own pair of peacocks. I thought you would be a very appreciative home for them even if they end up only decorative for some reason. (I used to use them all the time.. they should still work!)
I used some of the violet scented ink on your quote journal before sending the rest of the bottle in your package! I'm relieved to hear it wasn't too overpowering for you. :)

Comment: Never, in my wildest dreams, did I imagine such a perfect package. I LOVE the bottle ink. It is something that I always want, but rarely buy for myself. The gel pens work fine - you know I had to try everything right away!!! I'm not brand-specific on the moleskins, but I don't know what else to call them. Regardless, thank for splurging on me and getting a favorite of mine. I'm excited to have the different colored ink cartiages, they're hard to find here for some reason. I see the stickers all the time, but again would always buy for someone else. What a terrific surprise to come home to after a long day. I hope yours arrives soon! Thank you for such thoughtfulness and generosity. I don't know what I would have done if it had hand-spun angora yarn it in!!!

Response: Yes, I can imagine!! When my husband and I went to Europe many years ago, we had those frame packs. They would have been super if we'd packed lighter! But the camera equipment sure was heavy. :P
Oh! that luggage cart full of suitcases was what we actually had with us for three weeks in Hawaii. I'm so embarrassed! ;)

The background photo on your pc is from a trip to Hana (Maui, Hawaii). The mosquitoes were thick on the wet side of the island! I was scratching bites for the rest of the trip.
The bee-man is from my most recent trip to Tucson, AZ. We were out in the backyard, poolside, enjoying the sunshine and contemplating a dip when we noticed a swarm of bees resting in the nearby tree. It is a good thing we did not splash them! The bees in Tucson are all considered to be "Africanized" now-- interbred with the very aggressive African bee. A swarm of these aggressive bees have been known to kill a horse! Needless to say, we called in a pro.

The pc I sent you didn't need much to get the point across. The road with the lava flow across it is the actual picture, taken on the Big Island, Hawaii. I imported the sign and changed its message, and added the caption. :) I wish I could take credit for creating the lava flow across the road image, but Mother Nature is the one that did all the work there!

It occurred to me somewhere along the way that I didn't know whether the quilt you were working on featured the print fabric in the corners and center or the muslin in the corners and the print in the middle of the sides, so I made one of each. Was almost just as quick to make two squares as it would have been to make one! :)

Response: The junk-mail strip-pieced "bargello" pattern with horse and rider "applique" on top of it was so much easier to do than the traditional quilt-block with squares and triangles that I'd done for your "paper quilt postcard"! Last time I started by punching 1" squares and pasting those down (as squares or folded into triangles) to create the pattern. Tedious and time-consuming but I loved the results.
This time I realized I could use quilt makers' strip-piecing techniques to make the job quicker! I cut strips instead of squares and pasted the strips alongside each other on a foundation paper, then cut that paper into strips crosswise and built the pattern from those. SO much better!

Response: I really enjoyed the journal a lot more than I even expected to! And I was realizing that I could type the entries into my computer and then paste them into the book-- it would make it easier to angel the swap (if that became a problem) and would encourage me to fill the other pages of the book with more sketches and stuff. :) Would also reduce hand-cramp. :P

And books... woohoo! I love your selection, and I've never read any of the authors. I don't mind used at all... it's better, actually! That's why I'm a BookCrosse - because it's interesting to know where a book came from and where it's going. Well, that and because it's just flat out expensive to buy so many books. I'd rather get thirty books at the UBS then four for $60 at BAM. They need to lower the price of these things! Anyway... again, thank you so much for the package, I absolutely loved it!
