Comment: I do more sewing (esp aprons) than quilting. Thanks for the comments!
Response: Thank you so much for the rating and heart. Also thank you for the pen pal invite. I think we would make great pen pals and will work on a letter to you this coming week. Thanks for everything.
Comment: Sorry, no pics posted of my glass...I mostly play with it, not something serious at all!! I’ve been in the floral industry for 27 years most of them in shops that specialized in weddings and events…I’ve seen a lot of weddings, last summer an intern asked and I estimated somewhere between 2200 - 2500.
Response: Thank you for rating and nice to learn more about you.
Comment: Og denise-these are just beautiful! i esp. love the fall leaves one! SO lovely! and glad you got your recipe card/photo today. That's funny about you not liking Mt. Dew cause generally speaking, I don't like onions or cooked apples, but they are so (weirdly) yummy together in this recipe! Thanks for another great swap! Hope you have a good weekend! :)
Response: Thank you so much for your kind comment and the recipe card and I can't wait to try it. I think those weird combos make for some of the best dishes. Thanks again.
Comment: great photo-what a cutie!
"Oh my achin' tummy...that's the last time I try to outeat a bear!"
LOL! Thanks for sharing & hosting another fun swap!
and i love the one you did for my Max! Perfect! And yep, our hounds will and do eat just about anything-whether it is actually food or not! lol!
Response: Thank you so much for the nice comment and you are most welcomed for the max caption I sent. Thanks again.
Comment: All the pics you took are great! I especially love the "looking through" and "love" pics! Thanks!
Response: Thank you so much for the great coment and the heart. I am so happy that you liked the photos and the looking through is one of my favorites. I have a habit of taking photos through windows (LOL).
Comment: ooooh-this recipe looks YUMMY indeed! I love cherries and anything with cream cheese is always good! ;)
Your photo is great, and the recipes cards are so pretty too! thanks so much! Happy swapping & shooting!
Response: Please try it because it is my one weakness...if it is in the house I just can't forget it and will eat only it all day. I am glad you enjoyed what was sent. Let me know if you try it and thanks for the rating and heart.
Comment: Thanks for the dotee! She will have a happy home here! Thanks also for the note you sent with her. It is always nice to hear about the first time someone does something new! Sorry the rating took a while, we have been on holiday for three weeks and my mailbox was overflowing when we got home yesterday! Happy Swapping!
Response: I am glad you liked the dotee. I am always nervous trying something for the 1st time. Thanks for the rating and heart.
Comment: loved seeing you & your warm cozy pink-ribboned feet! lol!(one of my dearest friends is a recent breast cancer survivor and you are wise to take any precaution you can...it is a terribly damaging disease). I also took a picture of my feet wearing the new slipper booties Jeff got me for Christmas! You & your hubby look great & happy in that photo! :) Thanks so much for sharing! Have a great rest-of-your-holiday season! ~hugs~
Response: Thank you so much and funnythat we photo the same thing....LOL they say great minds think alike. Wishing you a warm and happy new year.
Comment: Hi Denise! Thank you so much for the heartfelt email and your pictures. You are a very incredible person and I am privileged to know you. The story you told me is amazing and I wish you all the best. Thank you for sharing so much. It really opened my eyes. Have a wonderful New Year! I hope it brings you much happiness and good health. :)
Response: Thank you so much for the kind comment and I am priviledged to know you also. You are one of the sweetest people I have been lucky enough to meet on SB. I wish you the best of the 2011 year, may it bring you all the joys that your heart desires.
Comment: Thanks for this lovely email - the photos of the clouds, their presentation and your personal story to go with them were nice ~ I love cloud-gazing too (it's so relaxing on a sunny day with a mild breeze on your face and soft grass under your back), and have been known to occasionally imagine objects out of the clouds too. ;)
Response: Thank you so much and I am happy that you enjoyed them. Also thanks for the heart.
Comment: You did great with your A photos! Plus you are quick!! lol - It is so funny how you can think of items for a letter until we are under pressure!! Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Thanks so much and yes while under pressure I know I can't think of a thing. I already have a idea for the B just hoping I can make it to a friends home before the swap to get the photos done. Looking forward to the rest of the swaps and thank you for joining.
Comment: awesome photos! I too have a "thing" for kayaks-but have never been on/in one...i'm kinda with your hubby in that i love being near the water but not necessarily on/in it! lol! i have a good friend who recently started kayaking and absolutely LOVES it! The train image IS perfect in b/w! As usual, LOVE you work! Thanks for sharing! Happy holidays!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind comments and maybe one day you and my husband will attempt kayaking.
Comment: Oh wow! I did not mean to be this late to rate you.
Thanks for the nice note and descriptions! Funny that you have visited NC a bit, and I TN, as I have family there. I haven't been to Hilton Head in over 15 years, but I definitely want to 'head north' soon. I live all the way south on the NC coast. It's definitely a lovely sight, regardless of which beaches you visit.
Response: It's funny that you mention the NC coast because my husband and I want to visit there as soon as it is spring. I guess in our older age we are trading in the mountains for the beach...lol beaches are flatter. ANyways thank you so much for the rating and heart.
Comment: Awonderful story, just love the sensitivity of your husband. Do you realize we are almost neighbors?
Response: AWWW, thank you for the comment. I asked my husband when we took it to the post office if he knew where the town you lived in was and we was guessing you live near Memphis. I am going to have to look it up. Thanks neighbor for the heart and rating.
Comment: oh Denise! As always, being your swap partner is such a joy! What a very lovely sentiment you have shared with us-and I completley agree with you! My bf & i share simple times of enjoying our many blessings and the life we are so grateful for, in calm, relaxing ways...which, we also believe, is exactly how this special season is meant to be celebrated! Good for you in striving for more memories and less stress this year! Your poem was touching and the bear story hilarious (in hindsight, of course!) Thank you for a wonderful swap! Happy holiday hugs! :)
Response: Thank you so much Lauriez. Your comments are always welcomed and I thank you so very much. It has been a great holiday season so far and so much more relaxed, at times I am not sure what to do with myself because most years I have to keep looking at a calendar to see what is coming next. I am so much more enjoying doing things at our pace and more things with friends and family.
Comment: Uh...OMG... even your first carving put mine to shame - your incredible and thank you so much
Response: Thank you so much for your sweet comments and I am so happy you enjoyed the package...As a letterboxer I get tons of pratice carving stamps....Wish I could have sent a image of my 1st one done and you would have laughed yourself silly.
Comment: hope you are able to have a restful relaxing day tomorrow -just reading your activities over the past few days made me tired! ;) Thanks for sharing the interesting photos-your story about the bears has my stomach in knots. Sadly, it is because tourists continue to pay to visit that place that they stay open-the regulation of small animal places such as that is so poor in the USA-it is up to the public to fight for the animals right treatment. If you can recall the name of the place I would like to know it. Thanks for another great photo swap! ~hugs~
Response: Thank you so much for rating and the zoo was Cherokee Bear Zoo.....Funny thing I went to look them up again and their web site is down....I am hoping they closed and don't think for a second that I did not make complaints after the visit ;-)
Comment: oh, what a lovely package you created for me! The envelope was darling, and your photos were so interesting! I loved feeling like I was being taken on a little mini-tour! I esp. loved the lighthouses, always a fascination for me! You are such a classy, first-rate swapper, Denise-it is always a joy to be your partner!! Thank you SO MUCH for all of the time, effort, consideration & creativity that you bestowed upon me! BIG HUGS!! :)
Response: Thank you so much for the kind comment. Glad you enjoyed everything.
Comment: such lovely photos, as always! :)
I esp like the one which is b/w & partially colored...I used to do hand coloring with photo colored pencils & paint-such a stunning effect! Thanks for sharing!
Response: Wow you will have to let me know how you hand color photos I am sure I would love to try it. Thanks for the rating and heart.
Comment: You know I think your work is phenomenal and these photos of your sister are no exception. She must have been so happy with these. I love how you put them together as well. Great job, Denise. You never cease to amaze me!!! :)
Response: You are to sweet and thank you so much. I am PSP hooked since buying the new version and use it anytime I can.
Comment: Great job as always Denise!
The first one is the fresnel light in a lighthouse.
The second one...yikes! My eyes were going blurry trying to figure it out!
I know this is incorrect, but all I can come up with is the strands of a mop. Can't wait to find out what it really is!
Response: Thank you so much Lauriez for the swap suggestion because I have had a ton of fun. You are correct on one of them and I sent a email of the complete photos. Thanks again.
Comment: OH i am so enthralled with lighthouses! I have been to about 6 but wish i could see every single one...at least in the US! Thank you SO much for such beautiful pix & interesting information! I am going to share your email with my mom if that's ok, cause she is a lighthouse fan too! Happy swapping & shooting!
Response: Thank you so much for the great comments. Please feel free to share the email. I see we have something in common....I to want to see all the lighthouses in the USA. Maybe one day we both can make our dream come true.
Comment: Hi! Thankyou for the e-mail! I loved the tips... most of my english mistakes I do know the correct way to write them, but I never pay atention to what I´m doing! Thankyou for pointing them out! I did also learn some grammar and I do thankyou for that. I loved the surprise, it was so lovely and thoughtful of you!!! All the best!
Response: Thank you so much for the wonderful rating and heart. I was a little worried about this one because I hate to point out small mistakes because we all make them but I guess that it way each of us signed up ....to improve on our profiles. It is a relief to see the heart....Thank you so so much.
Comment: Hello Again! Thanks for the great comments. I really think swap-bot should change its name to the Denise and Brittany exchange, we get partnered so often! Not that I'm complaining! I've been a vet tech for almost 14 years and I love it. You should so come up to Chicago, it would give us an excuse to have an event, and we have some awesome cemetery boxes!!!!
Response: LOL at the swap bot name change...... I might just have to do that.....Hubby will go anywhere we have not been together and it would give me a chance to visit family in another city. Thanks for rating.
Comment: wow Denise, beautiful job. I love both the pictures, the black and white with the tinting is
my favourite. thank you very much :)
Response: I am so happy that you liked them. The black and white with the tint was my favorite but I wanted to send both because some people do not like B&W photos. You did send a photo of the cutest little girl to play around with in PSP and I so enjoyed working with the photo. Thanks for the rating and heart.
Comment: TY for the lovely comments! I do try to be down to earth, although my family would not always agree about that!! lol - On making ATCs - there are a few sites that have really awesome directions that sort of help you develop your own style! I have been making ATCs for about a year and really enjoy it! Also getting addicted to pcs!! lol - Just what I need another addiction!! lol - Thanks again and hope we are ATC partners at some point! Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: The pleasure was all mine. I really enjoyed reading your profile. Thanks for the rating and heart.
Comment: now your talking must try these out hope to see you in the next countdown to christmas recipes swap it now on hope you join up .
Response: Hope you enjoy them.....I saw the swap and I have to be very careful what I sign up for at the moment due to being out of town for a week with limited internet access. If I can get something together and saved this weekend so I can copy and paste I will be joining. I love all the recipes. Thanks for the rating and heart.
Comment: Thank you for not just 1, but 2 lovely atcs. Very good job! I will be proud to add them to my collection. You might want to try distressing the edges with an ink pad to "grunge it up" a little more since that is your style. Love them! Joy
Response: Thank you so much for the rating and heart. I have done LTC's which are similar in some ways and have used the ink on the edges.....I have no idea why I did not think about it for these. Thanks so much for the suggestion also.
Comment: Denise! You most definately put a smile on my face today when I opened up my mailbox to such a pretty envelope! And I love your coloring...I think it's fun you embraced it and went for it with different mediums..how fun huh??? I hope there's another one like this...I too loved it.
Response: Thank you so much for the comment, rating, and heart. I am so glad you liked it and I had way to much fun.....Hopefully I will get a new swap up soon just like this one.
Comment: that's one spoiled cat. It's their foibles that make them unique enough to miss them so much when they are gone. Not everyone would be willing to put up with 'special needs' but she obviously makes it worth the extra effort :)
Response: Thank you so much for the comment and heart. She is a part of the famiy and she is so worth the extra effort.
Comment: Denise~ Thank you for the wonderful poetry and for the beautiful card. :)
I loved the butterfly stamps on the envelope...and I'm plotting a way to peel them off and keep 'em. *haha*
Your poetry was great - and I'll be thinking about another verse for your Dating Vs. Marriage poem. :)
Have a great day!
Response: So glad you enjoyed and thank you for the reating and heart.
Comment: Love the green tomato photos! They look like mini watermelons!
Response: I just noticed that the rating is not for my photos. That was another member who sent the green tomatoe photograph. Will let you know if I can figure out who sent the photograph because I also received it.
Comment: very cool picture and details ,we have a lot of those flowers here in NC too.
Peace & Happy swapping
Response: Thank you so much for the comment and heart. I would say for sure you have those flowers in NC because we live about 30 min from the NC state line. To be honest I was surprized the wildflower photos was all taken in TN because I have just as many NC photos.
Comment: Fabulous swap! I feel like I got the best end of the deal. Thanks so much for such a great swap.
Response: Thank you so much.....Not only are you teaching a newbie to do ATC's but you are my very 1st private swap partner. I am so glad you enjoyed them. All the thanks goes to you for halping a ATC newbie out.
Comment: I loved the puppy image. I will have to learn how to code images in.
I hope you really enjoy Canada. It can be hard to find time off for travel. I hope you come to my side of the Rocky Mountains. West coast for the win! - Tina
Response: Thank you so much for your comment and the 5 heart rating. Will be sending PM to let you know how to add the images.
Comment: Oh my, what a wonderful package of embellishments! I love all of them and there is a bikg lot, and your package was so beautifully done up. You deserve
more then just one heart. You made my Day!
Response: Thank you so much and I am glad that you liked the package. I am just shocked how quick it made it to you. Yeah for the postal service doing a good job for once ;-)
Comment: I got your journal today and I almost cried lol. Its the first journal I've ever received and it is absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for the extra personal touches you made to make it mine!!
Response: I am so so happy that you liked it. I thought of making one from scratch but then I decided to alter one...You received my 1st altered book and it makes me so happy that you like it.
Comment: Dear Denise thanks a lot for your kind words, i hope you really liked my small creations. I am a newby and have created flickr account just one month ago, so your comments are very important to me!
Response: I did enjoy and you ar e so creative. Thanks for the comment and heart.
Comment: Amazing photos. Looks like an incredibly beautiful place. Think that needs to go on my list of must sees! Thank you.
Response: Thank you so much for the comment. It is a very beautiful place but you only get to see the tip of the iceburg. I think when I am 75 I will not have been able to see everything the area has to offer.
Comment: oh your waterfall photos are just gorgeous! how lucky are you to be able to go on hiking trips to see them, and take such lovely photos! There are lots of waterfalls here in Washington too, my favorite so far is Snoqualmie Falls, not far from where I live, and which are 268 ft high and have a luxurious lodge built at the top of them. Thank you so much for hosting this swap & sharing your awesome photos! Happy swapping & shooting!
Response: Thank you so much for the comment and I had to go and check out the falls you mentioned...They are beautiful. Maybe if I ever get that way I can visit.
Response: Thank you so much for the rating and heart. I am glad that you liked the photo...I just wished I could have added alot more because the are the photo was taken in is more beautiful than words can describe.
Comment: Technically meet the requirements. Although it would have been nice to have more than five words to sum up your partner. A little detail and effort would have been nice.
Response: I did give more than 5 words........the 5 words was from my 26 reasons (not just 5) starting with A and making my way to Z and the 5 words in the top of the email was the favorite resons of those 26. I think I gave it more than enough detail and effort but everyone has a opinion and thanks for yours.
Comment: Absolutely gorgeous photos, Denise. I loved them all! Thank you for sending three, too! If you like, be sure to upload two of them to the Flickr group we have for Shutter Me Up. The link is on the group's home page. Thanks again! Loved your shots. You have a very good eye for photography!!!
Response: Thanks for much for the comment and I added 2 photos to the Flickr site. Can't wait for next round.
Comment: There is so much cool stuff in here, I love the giant paper fish, and the mice, that was the cutest thing ever. The tassels are very pretty, where did you get them in case I want to get more? Thank you SO MUCH, you really made my day!
Response: I am so glad that you liked everything. I wish I could tell you that you could buy more of the tassels but it is a deleted Wrights product that I got at a super deal. If I am not mistaken I do have fringe that matches the tassels if you have a need.
Comment: Hi Denise - Thank you for your kind comments on my profile. I love your swap name. Pretty darn cool. Thank you for all you do in your work. A friend I met on a web board often says that mental illness is not a casserole illness - no one brings you a casserole. But, our daughter is amazing.
Take care _ Carol (twinb)
Response: Thank you so much for the comment and I am going to have to remember the quote.
Comment: You deserve many many hearts!! :-) When I saw the large envie I was a bit disappointed, thinking you had changed your mind about the stamp. I am thrilled with it! It is perfect. Before I had the stamp I used to write "reduce, reuse recycle" on my mailers :-) Thank you so much!!!
Response: Glad you enjoyed your package. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Such great decorations on my envie, totally made me smile! Thank you also for all the goodies and special personalized touches in my package! It tends to be a little foggy and gray here in San Fran so those little sticky notes are awesome, they're so bright and cheerful!
Response: Y ou are most welcomed and I am happy that you enjoyed the package.
Comment: What I feel about your 1st answer ... I am having difficulty finding the words to express. None seem eloquent or adequate enough. My emotions are overwhelming me.
I just think that if you had to have an epiphany, this is a good one.
Response: Thank you so much for your response. I to .....many times have a hard time expressing how I feel and know exactly what you mean.
Comment: Your very first fact blew me and my boyfriend away. You beat amazing odds and that is amazing! .. I'll have to check letterboxing out. I've heard about it. My boyfriend and I Geocache [ horribly! lol ] which I think is sort of the same thing. It's super fun. Maybe we'd have better luck with letterboxing!
Thanks for sharing your facts.... :]
oh! and the paper.. thank you so much for the paper. They'll really come in handy for future projects!
Response: Thank you so much for the wonderful comment and heart. Hope to see you on the letterboxing site and you may find me on the geocaching site since we have been doing a lot of it recently. You are most welcomed for the paper.
Comment: Thanks Denise! How did you add the willows and clouds? Do you work in photoshop? Very cool and thanks for the history of the mill as well. I live by McConnel's Mill in Slippery Rock PA. You should look it up some time if this interests you. It is a state park and the setting is awesome!
thanks again, very nice shot! - Kim
Response: I use Paint Shop Pro and it is very addictive. I ckecked out the McConnel's Mill and it is so pretty. I also love the old covered bridge I am finding in photos with the mill. I have book marked what I have found because my husband and I want to travel to PA and spend a couple weeks there. I am sure I would love it. Thanks for the info and the sweet comment. ~Denise~
Comment: Oh Denise! I appreciated your lovely list so much. Knowing how much you appreciate life, and the things that matter is very heartwarming. Your list did make me smile! I had tears in my eyes as I read of how you became such an observer of things to be thankful for. I am so glad that you made it through such a life changing accident. Blessings♥ Celia
Response: Thank you so much for your sweet comment because it is the small things in life that truly matter. ~Denise~
