Comment: Thank you for the in-depth book reviews. What good references they'll be when I'm ready for some new reads. The book marks are just the ticket - I like the quotes and the images. They'll be used!
Response: Thanks for the great rate! Glad you liked the bookmarks. I took the photos on the ones that are not clipart.
Comment: Your cards were magnificent, Sharon! Loved them all and your write-up was wonderful — and it was great to see Butchart Gardens again, saw it at night and bought the video/CD of its history. Also super to see Yellowstone again!!
Response: Thanks, Lou! Glad you like them. Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: Hello Sharon! Omg I loved the rainbow collection of cards! Your photography is amazing and I loved how colorful you made them. I loved reading the story behind them also, great that you travel and see the beauty in nature.
Response: Thanks for the great rate! I'm so glad you liked my colorful photos!
Comment: Sharon...your photo cards were without any doubt..."absolutely stunning". I loved how you presented them and all were simply lovely!!! And might I say...you are quite the traveler and know "what" to take a photos of!!! I loved them all..Thanks
Response: Thanks for the great rate! I'm glad you like them. I do love to take pictures when we travel!
Comment: WOW! These postcards you made with your photos are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!
I LOVE these so absolutely much! I will be keeping these in my special binder.. they are BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you THANK YOU!!
Response: I'm so glad you like them! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Oh my gosh! Not only did you go way (way!) above and beyond with this swap... but your photos are Amazing. They are all stunning (well, except the bears, who are just funny), but my favorites are the marmots. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful photos with me!! ♥!!
Response: I love the marmots too! I just COULD NOT STOP taking pictures of every one I saw. There were many, many more photos of marmots taken during that hike! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful cards! I love them all, and several are parks on my bucket list. We're hosting an exchange student too, it's been a great experience!
Response: Thanks for the great rate! We are serial hosters - it's almost always been a great experience! We're hosting a girl from France this year - will be visiting national parks in Utah and Arizona (Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon - along with Horseshoe Bend and a great little slot canyon down in that neck of the woods). I've been to them all numerous times, but they never get old!
It's here yes yes!! So sorry for the late rating!! This is SUCH an awesome swap! I have yet to open any of the envelopes but as soon as things slow down a bit I am sure the time will arise!! All of these envelopes are lovely! You certainly went above and beyond!! I can't wait to see what goodies lie within!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!!!
Hugs and a whole lot of smiles from me to you!! xxooxxooxxoo
Response: Yay! Glad it made its way to you. I've had some mailing issues in the past and am somewhat paranoid now. Hope you like everything!
Comment: Thank you so much, Sharon, for the fabulous reading log and all the extras! I don't know where to start, so I'll start with the reading log itself :) I really like how you formatted your reading log -- it made it easy to read! I read YAL almost exclusively ( I teach middle school language arts), so I was familiar with all the titles from that genre. It was nice to get the perspective of someone who does not usually read YAL. I highly recommend ALL of John Green's other books. He also has a couple of youtube channels that are very entertaining! There were quite a few other books I will be adding to my list of books to read. The recipes are greatly appreciated, especially the ones you've tried and liked! The bookmarks are awesome and will get put to good use :) I can't wait to listen to the mix CDs -- many of the names I recognized, but there were quite a few that were new to me! The photo on the card is super cool, and I'll definitely be saving it :) You are a very talented photographer! Thank you again for a thoughtful swap package :D
Response: Thank you for the wonderful rating! I'm very glad you liked the package!
Comment: Thank you for a great swap! The quote you sent very definitely rings true and the teas you sent all look soooo good! I've already begun baking again late at night when it's cooled down. I'm going to definitely be making some of the cookie recipes you included very soon! Thank you!
Response: I made my first batch of cookies since summer started last night! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Love getting swaps from you :-) The chicken in wine crockpot recipe sounds great as do the other three recipes. The dressing sounds like it would be great on my next salad, I love TexMex. Thanks for such a generous swap!
Response: You'll have to let me know if you like it as much as I do. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Sharon, I always enjoy reading your book logs. I love John Green, I read YA & it has been many years since I have been considered in the YA age group. HA...the way the characters interacted re: the intellectual repartee was a plus for me,
Response: I know - I was stunned that some people didn't like that part of the book. If books and movies had true to life dialog, they'd be terribly boring, I think! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thank you for the journal pages. Wow your photo's are wonderful, and the mounting tre professional! My favorite is the waves crashing near Monterey. Hearts to you, Kathy
Response: I'm so glad you like them! When I took the waves photo, it was just one of many, many waves photos that I took during that trip - looking for the perfect photo to put in one of my bathrooms. That one was the winner and it is now framed and on the wall. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: I really enjoyed reading your list. I love how you're able to focus on one author's books for a while in order to get through a series - I have a bunch of series I want to finish but keep getting sidetracked. :) The only book I read on your list was 13 Reasons Why and I agree with you: Kids should read it in their youth to help them realize that seemingly small actions may have grave consequences. Thanks again for giving me some fun reviews to read!
Response: I do like to read a whole series in a row if I can. My husband needs to take a break and read other authors - but I just want to blast right through the books! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thanks for your log! Field of Prey sounds fascinating. Garlic & Sapphires sounded great, until I read the review you included. Guess I'll pass.
Response: It really wasn't that bad - the reviewer liked is a lot less than I did. If you can get past the pretentiousness, it's not a horrible story! I highly recommend all of the Prey books, though! Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: Wow Sharon, these are beautiful photos; I'm not sure if I can part with a couple of them! I really appreciate the info you included on each photo and location. The Horseshoe Bend photo makes me want to drive down and see it, and so does the Venice one. I feel like I am back at the Tetons when I look at your photo of them! It sounds like you travel a lot, lucky girl!
Response: I'm very glad you like them! I have been very lucky in my travels, I admit it. Thanks for the great rate! And you should definitely go to Horseshoe Bend - photos don't do it justice.
Comment: Absolutely beautiful summer matchbox! I love the green color and the sparkly flower. And so many great goodies inside! i LOVE the popsicle ribbon. So cute!! Thank you for joining this swap and for being a wonderful swapper. Happy summer!!
Response: I'm so glad you like it! I've been housesitting and had to shop specifically for this swap as I forgot to pack up any of my crafting supplies, so I was worried it wasn't as summery as I intended when I signed up (the only craft store close to my housesitting gig was sadly lacking in the kind of stuff I wanted). Thanks for the great rate and for providing a wonderful place to swap!
Comment: Thank you for you for your very thorough list! I love Stephen King's short stories the best, I think. I just got a copy of Gone Girl to read, so your recommendation fits perfectly. And I've been meaning to try Tana French and Jodi Picoult. Thanks again! Love the bookmarks/quotes too!
Response: You must let me know what you think of Gone Girl when you've finished it. I just loaned Gillian Flynn's other two books to a co-worker. They're a bit darker than Gone Girl. Happy reading and thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Incredibly beautiful pics, Very impressed with your eye for photography..as you seem to like to take the same kind of shots I take.
Thank you thank you very stunning. Luv them all. including the one that you printed off and included, Thank you
Response: I'm very glad you like them. Of course, I had wonderful subjects - so it would have been hard to take a bad photo, I think! Thank you for the great rate!
Comment: I really do have to get back to reading Lee Child! Glad you got up to date on them. Love Philomena the movie & esp from your review I will stay away from the book! Thanks Sharon I enjoy reading your monthly reads!
Response: I'm glad you liked my list! I love keeping track of what I've read. Of course, it took swapping to make me actually keep track! Thanks for the great rate. At least next month's list will have something that wasn't written by Lee Child on it!
Comment: Thank you for your log. It wasn't boring! I need to try the Reacher's sometime. My hubby liked them at first, but he got burnt out on them a ways through the series.
Response: I'm pretty darn good at suspending my disbelief, so I haven't gotten burned out yet. There were a couple that weren't my favorites (and when Child wrote about Reacher and a companion at a McDonald's and one ordered breakfast and the other lunch, I had to raise my eyebrows because clearly he doesn't know Mickey D's the way I do!), but I'll keep reading him.
Comment: Thank you so much for this beautiful dotee with feathers. It is the most beautiful dotee of my collection!!
And also thanks for your explanation and the feathers and beads.
You deserve more hearts, I only can give you one :).
Response: I'm so glad you like her! She was a lot of fun to make. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thanks for your swap. I'm glad you liked most of your reads, I'm sorry there were a few duds. It sounds like you and my hubby have similar tastes, he loves the Monster Hunter series and Koontz, though he hasn't read the Frankenstein series, yet.
Response: He should definitely read it if he likes both Monster Hunters and Koontz books. He's bound to like them! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Your corner looks so restful now. Thanks for sharing. (Hi kitty!)
Response: Thanks for the great rate. I've actually managed to keep my corner spotless all week. Will wonders never cease! Molly has claimed the chair as hers now that she can get on it. Too bad she wasn't hanging out there in the second photo. LOL!
Comment: Goodness gracious! You know the way to my heart with all these extra recipes. Thanks so much! Cute little aside: You were actually my partner once before (for a recipe swap) and sent me the penne with spicy vodka tomato cream sauce recipe. I recognized it right away. We make it all the time so thanks for that recipe! Looking forward to trying some of the other ones out as well. I love crockpot recipes - use them all the time.
Oh yeah, and the cds :-) Thanks so much for those too. I'm looking forward to listening to them on my way to work tomorrow. You rock!
Response: I'm so glad you like the penne recipe. That is my son's all-time favorite - I make it every time he comes home! Hope you like some of the new recipes just as well. Oh, and the music too! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Wow, you read a lot in February! We like/read the same authors! The only author I've not read is Louis Sachar -- & that one does sound good! I love Dave Barry (very fond of many Florida authors, after living there for so long) & this one sounds like one I may have missed. OMG, Marcia Muller is one of my faves -- by all means read more, more! Do you read her husband -- Bill Pronzini -- he is also great!
Response: I haven't read any Pronzini - but I'll look him up the next time I'm at the book store. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: HI Sharon! your pretty little girl arrived today!!! I love, love ,love the fabric! Thank you for all the little extras too!
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like her. Funny story about the fabric - I have had it for about 26 YEARS!!! I used to make those fabric-covored photo albums (all the rage back then) and recently ran into a bag of fabrics that I used for that purpose. The fabric I used for your dotee is one of those golden oldies! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: I wish I could give you more then 1 heart. I love the note cards you made for me. Your note card is so beautiful. And thank you for the recipes. You went over and above the swap. Thank You so much..
Response: Thanks for the great rate! I'm glad you liked your envy of goodies!
Comment: Sharon you really outdid yourself! I love the notecard of the hot air ballon view. We rode in one once and it was a fabulous experience. I am glad you caught a fountain along the way to share. Thank you for the loose photos and the note too. Fabulous work!
Response: I'm glad you liked the photos! I really do take a picture of every fountain I see when I have a camera in my hands! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Wow! I wasn't expecting so many recipes! Some of them look really good. Thanks!
Response: I am an overachiever when it comes to recipe swaps. That or I am so indecisive I can't decide just which recipe to send. I'm gonna go with overachiever - it sounds better! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thankyou Sharonfor sharing your city/ Town/ Neibourhood with me, I love the photos of Meidian, Idaho, it looks a beautiful place, I enjoyed reading about Boise, Idaho, it was very interesting.I love the winter photo, Thankyou Sharon for the lovely photos, have a nice day love Jennifer.
Response: I'm glad you like the photos - we love living here! Thank you for the great rate!
Comment: WOW! Thank you so much for the awesome journal! I can tell you spent a lot of time on it. I haven't read all of it yet, but I looked through everything. I also love Ender's Game even though I am gay. Call me a bad lesbian, but it's such a good story! I just started reading Ender's Shadow today. It sounds like we have very similar taste in books and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the journal!
Response: I don't think you're a bad lesbian! You just know a good story when you read it. Have you seen the movie? I think they did an okay job with it - it would have had to be 3 movies to cover everything. I'm glad you like my journal. I had so very much fun making it. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Your cards and photos are gorgeous! I don't think I'll be able to send these to anyone - I want to keep them for myself :) You have a very good eye for composition. I especially love that you wrote a great letter describing your trip - what a great way to show an exchange student our country.Thank you so much and happy holidays to you and your family.
Response: I'm so glad you like the cards! I love taking photos and take many of them on every vacation. Thanks for the great rating!
Comment: Thank you for all of the delicious looking tea and the nice letter. I can't wait to try the tea. Sounds like you have been having a lot of fun. My boyfriend and I love to travel. We went to Florida in the summer and just recently Vermont. I can't believe we had never been there, since it is in our back yard so to speak. I drove by the arch, once but did not stop. It looks quite impressive. I have always wanted to go to California . Safe travels and happy swapping.=)
Response: We love to travel! I've been in every U.S. state except Hawaii and will probably get to that one next summer to visit my son. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Neat notecard made with your own beautiful flower photography. I enjoyed your note and news. (Pretty handwriting) These teas are WOW! 3 different Pomegranates How did you know? plus two more fruit teas. THX Great package
Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed the card and teas. I love pomegranate flavored tea, too! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: I love, love, love both "note" cards! I love the way you worked the letters. My first letters were too big, but I didn't even think to group them in a different way! Very creative. Also--I appreciate your honesty. I, of course, wouldn't have known the first card wasn't made from "leftovers," so it means a lot that you were honest about it. Thank you on all counts!
Response: I'm very glad you like them! Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: I received your reading log today Sharon, thank you! I loved how you said that you didn't get much reading done because you were watching Breaking Bad. Well I think reading 19 books in three months is quite an achievement! I certainly don't read that many. Some of these books definitely caught my attention as something I might like to read. Tami Hoag seems to write interesting books. The Log made me realise that I need to read more crime fiction!
Response: Thanks for the great rate. You'll note that most of those books were read during two of the three months since I was busy with Breaking Bad during the remaining month!
Comment: Hi! I love your notecards! They are just so lovely and the colors so clear! Thank you for joining the swap and for such Happy Mail!! You made a not so good day, awesome! Hugs and Happy Swapping!
Response: I'm so glad you liked them and that they made your day a little better. Please thank your son for his service, BTW! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: I really enjoyed your reading log. We have read some of the same books and had the same thoughts. I loved The Night Circus and The Secret History. I am looking forward to reading Donna Tartt's lastest coming out in a few weeks. Thank you for your reviews. :)
Response: I'm glad you like the log. Always fun to get one from someone who reads similar books. I also want to look up more books by Donna Tartt. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thank you for the yummy postcard and the lovely note. I have friends that met at a party, spent the night talking and haven't been apart since. Yours is only the 2nd story like that that I have heard. It's wonderful. <3
Response: Glad you like the card! Wish I could get in touch with all those naysayers to tell them nanny-nanny-boo-boo - we won!
Thanks for the great rate.
Response: This rating should be for round #2 - you'll get my contribution for round #3 soon as I sent to you again! Glad you like the photos. I'm loving seeing what everyone is putting in the journals. Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: What a great card and interesting note. We were in St. Louis a few years ago and went up in the arch, quite an experience.
Response: Glad you like the post card! My son and I also went up in the arch. And took a photo in front of the fountain near the old courthouse - in the same location where I took a photo with him 20 years ago on another cross-country drive when he was an infant. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: I'm looking for more series to read so I'm going to go check out The Passage! Wow, the nerve of that lady writing Julie and Julia...I wanted to read this but perhaps after your review I will just skip it. I also love your computer cookbook idea. Fantastic!
Response: Thanks for the great rate! Let me know what you think of The Passage. Yeah, if you check the Amazon reviews for Julie and Julia, you'll find that I'm not the only one who hated it.
Comment: Interesting about Running With Scissors. Have you seen the film? I liked it, but I don't really remember the plot. :) Also, I totally skipped World War Z (film) because it just looked terrible and the book was SO good.
Response: I haven't seen the movie - but after reading the book, I have no desire to ever see it! That's how much I disliked that book. Look up any negative review about it on Amazon and you'll have my opinion. World War Z wasn't bad as long as you weren't expecting it to be anything like the book. LOL! I agree, the book was great! Thanks for the great rate and happy reading!
Comment: Great dotee and great communication. Thank you for replacing the lost one.
Response: Glad she made it and that you like her! I have such a hard time with numbers and was in a hurry on top of everything when I wrote down your address. And that's why I always copy and paste when I'm not on the road! Will make sure to get swaps out BEFORE leaving on any vacation in the future. Ugh! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thank you for your July reading list. There are some very interesting sounding books on your list and I'll check out the titles next time I go to the library. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to "steal" your swap-bot card idea - so clever and so useful :-)
Response: Steal away! I hope you find some books you enjoy from my list. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thanks for your reading list, you were busy! I've read Escape and liked it, I am fascinated by the FLDS church.
Response: No vacation this month, so I had more time for reading! I, too, am fascinated by the FLDS church. I could not believe that her daughter went back to that environment! I think I'm going to order her next book - which she wrote after she consulted with authorities regarding the Texas raid on the FLDS compound there. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Super cool postcard is right!!!!!! Wow, gorgeous and so different from any others I have. Sounds like you have a fun packed summer!!! Yes, yes, yes, by all means go see him in Hawaii, you will NOT regret it!!!!!
Response: I'm glad you like the postcard! We'll definitely be planning a trip to Hawaii - probably for next year when my nephew is moved out and we no longer have kids on our health plan, car insurance and food budget sucking up all our extra cash. LOL! Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: I just LOVE this card Sharon -- and to top it off, you drove 3,132 miles ! I'm sure your German exchange student is amazed! THANKS!
Response: I'm glad you like it! It is so very beautiful in person. Thanks for the great rate! Our exchange students have all been amazed at the great wide openness of the western states. It helps when I point out that Germany, for instance, fits into Montana with room left over for New Hampshire - and Germany has, oh, about 80 million more people! Then it makes more sense that we can drive through miles and miles and miles of nothing!
Comment: These are fantastic photos! Lucky you - when I went to Yellowstone back in 1969, nary a buffalo in sight! I'm so glad they're back! And the moose photos - wow! They were all good! Thanks for sending!
Response: There were SO MANY BUFFALO! So many. You should go back and seem them! Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: Loved your letter and I'm glad you included photos -- such interesting family life, including the exchange students. Love the horse riding photo -- I'm hoping to ride a horse for the first time in a few weeks when I visit New Mexico.
Response: I'm glad you liked the letter. Enjoy your horseback riding! It's like nothing else. Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: WOWOWOWOW!!!! Thank you so very much for this swap! Your page is gorgeous - not sure why you doubted it :) And the swap cards and extra, healthy, recipes were soooooo cool to get. Thank you! I only wish I could give you many more hearts!
Response: I'm so glad you liked your package! I hope you find some recipes that you love (and maybe some your hubby will also like)! Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: Thank you for so many great recipes! I look forward to trying them, especially the beef filets and the black bean lasagna. Your cookbook is quite an undertaking - it's bound to become a family heirloom!
Response: I'm very glad you like them! I hope you find lots of recipes you love to make. I've made copies of the cookbook for my whole family - they are used regularly (I love when my son calls to ask questions about making something in "the book"). Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Such an absolutely delightful matchbox you sent me. The box itself is perfect steampunk and the items in the drawer just the same. The earrings are super cute. Nice job on them! Thank you so much for such an awesome package.
Response: I'm so glad you like it! I've just started making the matchboxes, so I was a little worried about them as I'm not quite sure what they're supposed to be like. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thank you for your recipes. They will go beautifully in my recipe 'book'. I keep them in page protectors and use them in the kitchen :) I appreciate the thoughtfulness of including an entire meal. I may need to rethink the way I do my swaps and start doing something similar....
Response: I hope you find some recipes that you and your family love! Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: WOW!!!! Beautiful photos of the balloons! I especially love the coca-cola one (love the coke symbol).....the description of your volunteering with them was very interesting too, thank you so much for sharing! :)
Response: I'm glad you like them! We really enjoy crewing for the balloons every year. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thank-you for the lovely matchbook. I love it ! I agree...I'm looking for more matchbook swaps as well. So fun ! Love the earrings and all the little goodies ! Hope to see ya around swap-bot :)
Comment: Love it! The face is so adorable and the hair is hilarious. Love how you made the tail. Great idea! Thanks.
Response: I am so glad you like her! I was worried after reading all the ratings because I think I'm the only one who went with the "inspired by" idea. I had such fun designing her. Thanks for the great rating!
Comment: Thank you SO much for all 45 recipes!!! That is awesome that you created your own cookbook! I have been wanting to do it, but I have yet to get around to it. I will cook my way through all of your recipes!!
Response: Yay for trying new recipes! I hope you love the ones I sent - my family has taste-tested them for you and they approve. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Ick - sick - I hope that you feel better soon! I just had a baked potato for the first time in what seems like eons (Wendy's) and realize I miss them! Hope you feel better soon!
Response: Thanks for the great rate! I don't make baked potatoes often either - and I don't know why because they really are yummy! I have a potato soup recipe from a former exchange student that I usually make, so I haven't tried the recipe on the card. Maybe I'll have to give it a go!
Comment: Wow! When my kids were little I used to tell them that good things come to those who wait. This swap is a prime example of that! Again I say: Wow! I loved reading your letter and seeing the picture of you working with molten glass and the picture of your kids in Freak Alley. The card and pictures are amazing. Thank you so much! I'm absolutely delighted to have received this swap and hope that all continues to go well for you.
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! Thanks so much for the great rating.
Comment: Hello Sharon,
Thank you for all the "O" Recipes you sent me for this swap. I appreciated the little note next to each recipe. I look forward to trying many of these recipes. I also look forward to adding all these recipes to my Alphabet Recipe Book.
Response: I'm glad you like them. They're all quite yummy! Thank you for the great rate.
Comment: OMG thank you so much! I felt like I won the lottery or Christmas suddenly came in February. Your photography is wonderful, keep going with it! ♥ ♥ ♥ If you wind up in Chicago again, let me know. ☺
Response: Thanks so much! I'm very glad you like them! My nephew may be joining the Navy, so it very well could lead to another trip to Chicago for a boot camp grad. It would be great to hook up with a local. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: What a wonderful surprise! I love the cookbook. I always like to use recipes that are tested by people I trust (such as people from this group). I saw a soup recipe that looks totally delicious (dude soup) and am looking forward to making it. Thanks so much for sending - and cheering up my day!
Response: Glad you like it! I hope you find lots of recipes you enjoy. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: You always send great recipes. Love to use my ice cream maker.Looking forward to making the coffee ice cream. Thanks!!
Response: Yum! Ice cream! I haven't made any for awhile and it's waaaaay too cold here now to get enthusiastic about freezing anything - but I'll bust the ice cream maker out when it warms up! Glad you like the recipes.
Comment: Thankyou sharon for the lovely Photo of Molly, she is a beautiful cat. I am so pleased that Molly is much better, it is upsetting whnen one of your pets are unwell. Have a very happy new year, and a Meow to Molly, love jennifer
Response: Thanks for the great rate. Molly meows back!
Comment: I'm really sorry I didn't rate you sooner, I was resorting mail I thought I'd rated, and found your letter. I've never read either of the books, although I've had Eat, Pray, Love recommended to me a couple times.
Response: Thanks for the great rate! Happy reading!
Comment: Postmarked one day late but a long letter was worth waiting for. I have also read the Gilbert book. The memoir sounds interesting. Thanks! I will share this with my book group.
Response: Sorry! I took the envie to our office mailroom on the correct day - I don't know why it didn't make it to the post office. I really have to stop waiting until the very last moment to mail. Thanks for the great rate. I hope your book group enjoys the book!
Comment: Molly is beautiful! My Thomas, who was with us for 19 years had the same liver problems. I came home in Dec. 1999 from full hysterectomy and as I walked in the back door, I immediately said to get Thomas to Dr. Tom instantly as his ribs were showing in just those 4 days. So with me recovering from an 18 " incision, we were trying to get anything down Thomas and then the kitten we'd adopted just before Thanksgiving had mange and had to be isolated! My hubby was beside himself trying to care for all of that and get ready for Christmas. But he came back and gave us 9 more years! I'm glad your Molly recovered! It is very common in cats, I guess.
Have a wonderful holiday season!
Response: Thanks for the great rating! So glad your kitty also recovered from his liver problem. It was scary for us and I'm sure for you as well!
Comment: Wow! Your rock swap ROCKS! Some of the places you've visited are amazing. I'm so glad you could share them with me. You card crafting is very good. The best part of your swap was your fascinating letter. I love getting letters with swaps :-)
Response: So glad you liked my photos! I had fun picking them out. And yes, I've been lucky enough to visit some wonderful places!
Comment: wow...so many pics, awesome, i really like the one you created a card out of..he looks like a chameleon he just blends into the background...great shot..and ty for sharing all the others i enjoyed them very much
Response: Glad you like them! I thought the mountain goat was posing for that picture. All head tilty like "Take my picture, please!" Thanks for the great rate.
Comment: Love the photos and cards!! I've to Canyonlands and didn't see that beautiful spot. Thanks for sharing!
Response: I'm glad you like the photos! The horseshoe bend shot I sent is not from the Canyonlands area - although I know there is a place called Horseshoe Bend in that area also. This one is just south of the Utah border in Arizona - quite close to Page, AZ. Now I'll have to see the other one!
Comment: I love your pictures. I was at Benaventure Cemetery in January and made picture well thanks to technology I have lost them. So was so excited about receiving them. Your work is fabulous thanks again.
Response: So sorry you lost your pictures! That is a danger with digital (although I'm not sure where all my negatives are from film days, either!). I'm glad you liked my photos. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: A most beautiful and interesting shot of the waves! Love the fabulous photo of the mountains too. I plan to write notes to my friends on these pretty photo cards sent. Thanks lots!!!
Response: So glad you like them! I'm headed to Charleston, SC, next week to see my son graduate from Navy nuclear power school - hope to get some good pictures there for swapping, too. Thank you for the great rating!
Comment: Amazing photos, especially from the butterfly!
Response: I'm glad you liked it! I'm always nervous when I sign up for an ATC swap since I'm not actually very artistic! But I figured I could manage a butterfly and then remembered those photos. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Very sweet. Super timely. Thanks for the extra shells.
Response: I'm glad you like her! She was fun to make. We had a themed lunch at my office and shells were scattered over all the tables and we were allowed to take some at the end of the lunch - so I thought it would be perfect to send some along with a mermaid. Thanks for the great rate!
Comment: Thank you for all the neat stuff, and the explanation letter. Things are so much more personal with stories behind them. I will be wearing that owl pin on my wool coat this winter. :) So cute! Thanks again!
PS The CD looks like it has some fun stuff on there - will be popping it in soon.
Response: So glad you liked your package! Hope you like the tunes. Thanks for the great rating!
Comment: I'm just cleaning up and archiving swaps and discovered I'd never rated you on this....and thanked you for hosting the swap. It was a blast - I loved your list AND I loved participating. Doing anything similar in the near future? More books ideas are ALWAYS welcome!
Response: Glad you liked my list. I admit it - I'm a read-aholic! I'm a very nervous host, so haven't given a lot of thought to future swaps. I'll let you know if I do anything reading-related, though. Thanks for the nice rating!
Comment: Wanted to give you a "6" rating with the heart. Thank you for the gorgeous necklace you made for me. I treasure it.
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like it! I'm always nervous sending something random out just in case my partner has different tastes than I do (for instance, while my daughter thinks the bird's nest necklaces are pretty, she would NEVER wear one). I love the nests and am so happy you do too! Thank you for the lovely rating.
Comment: The mermaid is PRECIOUS!!! I just love her so much!! You did a fabulous job on her and I am so thrilled that she is my very first dotee doll!!! Thank you so much!!!! And thank you for the beautiful photos - they are gorgeous!
Response: So glad you like her! I was happy with the way she turned out. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: I LOVED your presentation and your photos!! I wish I would have presented my swap like yours and sent more photos. This was my first here so I wanted to feel it out first. I am so going to not use the notecards though but keep them in my photo box Thank ya!!!! The photos are so pretty especially the river one! Wow!!
Response: I KNOW!!! Isn't that the most spectacular view? We actually drove past the turnoff for the viewpoint in the dark after visiting the Grand Canyon, but went back the next day after hiking a slot canyon because I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wanted to see it. Totally worth the backtrack. Now I want to go at a different time of day so I can try to get a picture without the flare in it. Thanks for the nice rating!
Comment: Thankyou ever so much!! You went above and beyond for this swap, I love your dotee and letter! & you made me an owl stuffie too! You are ever so kind, thank you for putting a big smile on my face! <3 x100000000
Response: It was my pleasure to make up for a couple of flakes for you! I love that little owl pattern and was happy to put it to use again. Thanks for the nice rating!
Comment: The pictures and presentation are simply beautiful! It is clear that you put a lot of care into the swap. Thanks for sharing them with me! I also love the wonderfully detailed note you included! :-)
Response: I'm glad you like them! They're two of my favorite pictures. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Sharon ~ your photos/cards are absolutely gorgeous ~ breathtaking! And I loved your note ~ thank you so much!
Response: I'm glad you liked them! I've taken some stuff I really love in the Colorado Plateau area. It's hard not to - everywhere you look is gorgeous! Oh, and I don't think it's possible to take a bad picture of the ocean!
Comment: What an Awesome package I received Today. I loved the photos and the story. You did a great job. I'd love to take this vacation someday.Thank you :)
WoW love those photos what a great place =)
Response: It was a wonderful, albeit exhausting, vacation. The area called the Colorado Plateau (where all of those places are located) is simply stunning!

Comment: I enjoyed reading your friendly letter. I'm glad you got to have a quick family vacation. Take care of that knee. I love a good book store too! Thank you for the nice teas, especially the black currant. That is a new one for me.
Response: Powell's is the best book store EVER! Thanks for the rating!
Comment: Well Scuslidge, I was so thrilled to get your envelope today what a joyful letter! I love Oregon as well, My husband got to go to the book store last time we were there, I am desperate to go next time! I loved the stickers on the outside and you are a lovely swapper. Thank you so much and I can not wait to swap with you again!
Response: I'm glad you liked your envelope. You must definitely go to the bookstore if ever you are in Portland. I could spend HOURS there! Or days even!
Comment: Thanks so much for the postcard! I couldn't agree more with your book recommendation. My husband and I adore the Song of Ice and Fire series, and we loved the Game of Thrones TV show just as much!
Response: George Martin needs to write FAST! I can't wait for the next book! We don't have cable, so we'll have to wait for a year for the second season of the tv show also. Ugh! I'm not that patient!
Comment: How adorable my new little kitchen witch is! I love her hair and cape AND the little kitchen witch recipe books - how clever!. These are my kind of recipes. I have a couple of these recipes, but haven't used them in a while. Which is your favorite? A million thank youS!
Response: I love all the recipes! I like to make the Cajun Chicken Pasta for company because it tastes like you slaved over a hot stove forever to make it. The Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce is a favorite of my son's (and, in fact, one of his requested "last meals" before he headed off for Navy boot camp) and he likes the gooey garlic bread with anything! The Noodles in Sesame Soy Sauce are great with Teriyaki chicken or stir fried meals. Little cheesecakes are always good. Nope, I really don't have a favorite! I'm glad you liked your dotee!
Comment: Oh my Goodness was that a fun package to open! Your dotee is adorable. What a cute face. I sometimes struggle with the face... Yours will become a model for mine. I love the bead on the tail and thrilled to hear it has traveled so far with so much love. If I start to list all the other goodies i am sure I will forget something.... music , cocoa, more fun fabric for dotees... WOW oh by the way I sat and stitched up dotee bodies with all the fabric you sent tonight while watching tv... I will have a ball dressing them with embellishments in future days.. I feel so spoiled. Never have i been the recipient of such of manila cornucopia ! Did I say I just love it all yet? I read your profile... lots in common... 24 years married here too...high five for that ! My two are grown too but daughter is at home commuting to college after some serious health issues... anyway... Would LOVE to do more swaps with you ... are you interested in doing private dotee swaps? Have a great Tday and thank you again for everything especially your time and talent.
Response: I'm so glad you liked your little package! I had so much fun putting it together. I'd love to do some private dotee swaps! PM me and we can set some up!
Comment: This was...the absolute sweetest swapbot package I have ever received. Not only were there two pairs of lovely socks, but extra "pampering" items were just extra special. Packed in lovely little pumpkin treat bags, just delightful. I can't thank you enough, it arrived just in time and really made my day :) Thank you so much. I wish I could give an extra heart for this!
Response: So very glad you liked it! I had a lot of fun putting it together. Happy Halloween!
Comment: awesome photo's..i love the variety, and I must say the otter & his backstroke is too cute and the lil' precious squirrel is my ultimate fav. I just love it!! way too cute..ty
Response: We were REALLY CLOSE to that squirrel. I think if I had the right kind of bribe, I could have talked the little critter right into my pocket. Gotta love those places so inundated with tourists that normally skittish animals will almost pose for your camera!
Comment: I wish I could give you a hundred hearts! This was the most amazing swap package-- totally from the heart, so thoughtful, and I love and will use everything. Thank you for your sweet letter as well, and that album is one of my favorites!
Comment: Thank you so much for all the thought you put into this. You really showed what a great swapper you are. I could really tell that you read my profile and the things that you sent were perfect for me. I really appreciate them. You did apologize for the swap being late, but in all honesty the heart that you put into this says enough and it shows that you do care about your partner being happy. I was/am still happy about mine, there are no worries on my end. I look forward to swapping with you again!
Comment: Thank you for such a wonderful swap package. I love the pictures you included from your trip last year ~ will definitey have to give the recipes a try ~ love the instructions for dotee making - such a shame that someone was selling these rather than trading - this is exactly what the newbies need ~ and a book and tea. Again, such a fabulous package. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile and send such a heart worthy package.
Comment: No worries about being late, as we all know that things do get in the way at times. I do hope we can set up a trade, as I would like to get more postcards from where you're at. I love everything you've sent and the book sounds interesting enough that I want to read all the series.
Response: I love all of John Sandford's books! My husband is currently working his way through the whole series (alternating with Michael Connolly for a little variety). I hope you enjoy it!
Comment: wow, what a great package I got today! Thanks so much for the great stuff, the recipes were a nice surprise too. I can't wait to try them, especially the stoganoff and banana dessert. yum! Thanks again!♥♥♥
Response: I love to cook! Got up at 6:00 a.m. and made 10 dozen muffins for the marching band today! Have a great day!
Comment: I received a package from you and the note inside did not specify what swap it was for---- I think this was it! LOL. I love the swap bot cards you made! Sew nice and just for me! The fabric is cute and Starbucks Via is my favorite. I could not have received a more perfect package! Thanks!
Response: Sorry! I thought i put a swap card in there too! Glad you liked it!
Comment: Thanks so much for the chai and wonderful assortment of recipes! Will be sure to try some soon! The Tuscan Soup sounds delish and I want to try it- we don't eat sausage but maybe a turkey sausage would sub and still be tasty! (: Thx so much I really appreciate it!! ♥♥
Comment: I got the great books you sent today. This is a new author for me. Unfortunately, I started reading one, and hours later, I have accomplished nothing except finding a new favorite author! I also love the book thong you made. My favorite colors. Thank you for a wonderful swap.
Response: I'm glad you like them! I really like Lisa Gardner and I do the same thing - accomplish nothing but read - when I'm reading one of her books!
Comment: Hello Sharon, Today I received your Sparkly winter dotee And she is so nice, really sparkly ^-^
You did a great job! I hope that you have your car back by now?
You have sent also so much other things like candy’s mmmm so nice they are gone already! And tea and so much fabric to ,
Yes this was a great package so thank you for everything!
Kind regards Martha
Response: It'll be another two weeks before the car is fixed. I'm sure looking forward to having it back, though! Glad you liked your package!
Comment: Thanks for the great cds, I haven't listened to all of both of them yet, but have found several songs that I like and some artists that I haven't heard of. Which is great! Also, really love your great little swap card, so great looking. =D
Comment: Thank you for the CD and for including some of your favorite recipes. It sure is fun to make cookies while listening to Christmas songs. Thank you for the hot drinks, too! Merry Christmas Baking! :)
Comment: Home at last and your package is excellent! I love the cardinal and all of the cookie recipies and the cds. And you're right, I've been laughing my butt off for the JoCo one. :) I think so far my favourite one is Tom Cruise Crazy, but I haven't listened to them all yet. If I could give you more hearts, I definitely would. Thanks again!!
Response: I think my favorite is Skullcrusher Mountain (which I received on another mix CD and promptly had to purchase an entire album!) and Re: Your Brains. But they're all fun! Glad you like everything!
Comment: Thanks for the great postcard. This was a great swap. I went to the post office 4 times to finish mailing all the postcards. I did not have the postcard that you mailed to me. Happy swapping and have a great week. Smile, Linda
Comment: Emma Edwards Green! Unreal that she designed the state seal of Idaho, had to investigate the story behind that!
I had never heard the theory of ironing your mountains out to be bigger than Texas, lol I am loving this swap-enjoying all the facts of all the states!
Thanks for swapping, Judy
Comment: Thanks for being so prompt with the recipe...and for taking some of the guilt away with the "low fat" idea.
Response: I don't usually make "low fat" desserts - I figure if I'm making a dessert, I oughtta go whole hog! But this one came from someone else's potluck offering and it was so delicious I thought I'd pass it on! Plus, it's the only trifle recipe I have!
Comment: I got it a few days ago, finally listened to it last night. Good stuff! thank you. Moldy Peaches is my fave. what does 'Jai Ho' translate to, if anything? merci!
Response: According to blog I found when I searched that very question, it is a cross between "Hail" and "Hallelujah." I'm PMing the English translation of the entire song - it's cool! Plus I love the music and beat!
Comment: Thank You for all the goodies! I love everything. The journal is very nice and I can not to use it. I'm dying to try out the Chocolate. The Chai Tea is my favorite tea. P.S. hope the kids had fun at the prom!
Comment: What an awesome altered journal! I absolutely love it! Thank you so much, I can't wait to start using it! :) Also, thank you for adding to my book collection with one off my wishlist, you are too nice!
Comment: I loved your cds and hope that you like the one that I sent (I feel like an underachiever!)
Love the way your cd's are "packaged' . . . cool and practical.
Great selection and almost all of them are new to my collection!
Response: Yay! I'm glad you like them. Don't feel like an underachiever - I'm just a bit overzealous sometimes.
Comment: Very nice ATC! I'm glad you sent it despite what you read in the forums (You'd probably be better off not reading those). Yours was very well done and showed lots of time and effort. Thanks for swapping!
Comment: I LOVE her!!! Thank you so much for the beautiful "Mother Nature" dotee - you did an awesome job on her!!! Thank you also for the "extra" candies and teas...butterscotch...yummy!!! "Heart" for you!!!
Comment: Wow Sharon, you sent me an extra book. I'd say that makes it an extra special package. I love your little card and th unusual bookmark too. I love this swap because you end up getting books you probably wouldn't have chosen on your own. This one looks interesting.
Comment: hello again! thanks for all the great recipes...i especially like the bagel spreads! i'm not much of a breakfast person myself, but it's about time i was :) oh, and i started to read that book you sent me and so far i love it! thanks again.
Comment: What a wonderful surprise I recieved in the mail today. I just love the bookmarks and the idea of sending a book. I have been drooling over all the recipes that you have included
Thank you so very much
Comment: wow! i absolutely love the bookmarks, and thank you so much for the book and recipes! i've been looking for a new book to read. and i already picked out a few recipes i can't wait to try. thanks for sending such a wonderful package!
Comment: Lovely letter - I think your city sounds quite like mine in some ways - we're also very proximate to fantastic countryside and ski fields (and since it's winter at the moment we're capitalising on that!).
Thanks for the lovely letter!
Comment: I love how you went into great detail for each of the recipes! I like "allrecipes", too. I will sometimes alter recipes to fit my tastes, especially if there are ingredients that I don't like.
Comment: Thanks for the wonderful package. I can't wait to read the book. The bookmark is sweet and thanks for the CD, I love her and it was so thoughtful of you to think of me like that and for checking out my blog. Oh yeah! I also recieved the tea you sent, thanks :-)
Response: I hope you like the book. I try to check out the blogs of everyone I send to (if they have one listed on their profile). That's part of the fun of swapping for me!
Comment: Thank you so much for my new beauty. OMG she is just gorgeous!!! It really brighten my day when I saw her. OH and thank you so much for the tea. I haven't tried this one before, but when I do, I will let you know how it was. THANK YOU!!!
Response: I am so glad you like her! They are so much fun to make!
Comment: What a creative way to package my bookmarks. I shall enjoy reading the book. The book thongs are so beautiful -- such special beads! The girls will enjoy the postcards you sent. Thank you for a wonderful swap.
Comment: I cannot thank you enough for the fantastic package. The apron is absolutely beautiful and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you included your family cookbook. When you included extras: earrings and chocolate, I just knew you'd gone over the top and I'm so thrilled I'd give you a jillion hearts if I could!!! Thank you so much!
Comment: Thank you for the awesome, detailed letter and the souvenirs. It's funny that your trip included two of the main places that mine does -- San Francisco and Portland. The latter is my favorite US city so far. It sounded like you had a wonderful time.
Response: We LOVE Portland - try to get there at least once a year. Of course, Powell's is always on our list of things to do there.
Comment: The lemon lift is amazing! (I'm drinking it right now), and I can't wait to try the bread recipes, mmm... fresh bread. I'll type out the BBQ pulled pork recipe tonight and mail it out tomorow :)
Response: Oooh, thanks in advance! I'll have to get a new crockpot (mine cracked, so I've planted a shamrock plant in it and it's living in my kitchen).
Comment: Thank you, loved the extras you sent, now I want to go to Oregon beaches!
Response: The Oregon and Northern California coast is lovely - but the water is COOOOOLLLDD! The exchange students didn't believe they wouldn't want to swim until they actually put their toes in the water. Brrr!
Comment: clydeesmom 4/10/2008 HI SHARON, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE NICE SELECTION OF TEAS,THE NICE TEA CAKE RECIPES, AND THE POSTCARD BUT THANKS MOSTLY FOR TAKING TIME TO WRITE TO ME. YOU SOUND LIKE A GREAT PERSON TO BE ABLE TO OPEN YOUR HEART AND HOME TO THOSE KIDS. LOL LORRAINE
Response: Oh, we get as much as we give. For the most part, the kids have been wonderful to host! Enjoy the teas!
Comment: Oh Boy!! Thank you very much for all the recipes. These will keep me busy for a long time! I am really looking forward to trying the Cherry Almond Cookies and the Cranberry HOOTYCREEKS (I have no idea what that means but I sure love that word).
Response: I KNOW! Hootycreeks, Hootycreeks, Hootycreeks. I just can't say it enough. Plus, they're yummy! Bonus!
Comment: Thanks so much for the letter! Your story is so funny! I hope you don't mind me sharing it with my mother! hehehe
Response: Sad, but true! I left out the part about the time (around the same time period) a different half-slip fell off a I was getting on the commuter train. Sigh... I don't wear half slips any more. And several years later, I called to chat with some folks at that office and the receptionist said "Oh, we were just talking about you and the time your slip fell off at the 191 Club." I shall live on in infamy. *snort*
Comment: Thank you for all the goodies you sent. Butterscotch cocoa is completely new to me, I cannot wait to try that one :o) (and the recipes as well - just reading them brings me in a chocolate frenzy LOL) But above all, I love the notebook and the fact that you made this yourself, makes you deserve the heart all the more.
Comment: Thanks! Great recipes! I have the potato casserole recipe- have you ever heard it called 'funeral potatoes?' A little macabre, but everyone brings it to funeral luncheons!
Response: Yes, I have heard it called that. And, strangely enough, I got the recipe from someone who brought it to our house after my adoptive father's funeral. I heard it called funeral potatoes some time later and thought it was quite appropriate.
Comment: Don't you know the way to my heart! 4 extra recipes than what was required, Dark chocolate M&Ms (my favourite!), hot chocolate mix (yum!) & even a box of unsweetened baking chocolate to make the brownies with! It was interesting to see how you buy your chocolate over there (all of ours are wrapped in foil). Absolutely wonderful package, Thank-you sooooo much :)
Response: I'm glad you liked it! Let me know how your brownies turn out!
Comment: Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for those book thongs, they are absolutely wonderful. And for you to include a book with them is just amazing! I have been curious about Janet Evanovich, so now I have no excuse not to start reading that series. Thanks so much!
Response: I'm glad you like them. Evanovich is a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy it!
Comment: Wow ... so much extra stuff included in my lil' package that my wife got suspicious - awesome extras! Thank you soooo much for thinking of my daughter, too, and the note - super swap experience! :)
Response: Tell her I'm older than dirt! Glad you liked it.
Comment: You are truly amazing !! The package got here today! WOW that was fast. Thank you so much for helping me out. My husband will hopefully never know that he was flaked on. His partners points keep dropping. She left on her profile that she is gonna send out but I don't think so!! I will type more when he gets home from work! Thank you so much!! I hope your husband likes his package as much as I am thankful for your help! Mere
