Comment: Love love the wee mermaid and her bed. So precious. The tiny little seahorse buddy is adorable. Thank you so much. You put a lotta love into making that little sweetie pie. Mermaid Hugs, Sandy
Response: awww...glad you liked her! i love that little tiny seahorse...seemed just perfect to be her snug pal at bed time! i wasn't sure i could make a bendy doll small enough to fit in a matchbox, but she did with just enough room for some bedding and a buddy. :)
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful little bird notebook! It is really nice. I love the entry on the bluebirds, as I would love to see one. The story about the baby robin was very cute, and it reminds me of my recent find: a dark eyed junco nest! They started to hatch yesterday. Your pictures of hummingbirds are also cute; I have the exact same feeder too. Thank you for the beautiful bird book!
Response: glad you liked it! we have fun taking pictures of the birds in the yard - my (almost) 5 year old is always asking what is at the feeder and has started identifying some birds (robins and cardinals are the easy ones). Then she asks if I'm going to get my camera! haha!!
Comment: LOL Belchertown was named after the first governor of Massachusetts Crown Colony. Previously the town was called Cold Spring. I think they made a poor decision. ;) The foliage this year was spectacular, the best it's been in a while. Peaked quick though! Thanks for the cute doggie postcard, and I hope you get some interesting notes on your "found" cards!
Response: When you said Cold Spring I thought I had been there before, but we went camping at Cold River...then I looked up Belchertown and haha, not near each other!!
Comment: Thanks for the cute card. I love cows and these are just too cute. I grew up on a farm and there are lots of pictures of me with the cows and calves. Sure hope the LOST card makes it to me also. Such a fun swap. Thanks again.
Comment: Thanks for the list! I have the HeLa book on my shelf, too. I've read Time Travelers Wife and LOVED it. As in...it's, what, like 600 pages long? Yeah. I took a whole day and read it. It's excellent!!! Enjoy!
Response: i have the time traveler's wife out from the library (and renewed it) but have yet to read it. Maybe if i start it now, and it's as good as everyone says, i'll get through it before it's due back!!
Comment: It's amazing that as soon as I sent you that email, your postcard showed up. My mailman must have known I was worried and wanted more mail. I loved your postcard. And I agree, I hope that most of my postcards find their way home. Thanks for being partners with me.
Comment: Thank you so much for the Niagra Falls-card! I just read the swap you are hosting. It seems like a fun swap! I just received message that a great book about art-journalling is reserved at the library for me. I can't wait to try that. Swap-bot let's me discover new creative things too! I love it!
Response: ooh, what book is it? how do like it so far? i
Comment: I received my journal and you were right....there is some really nice pages in there ....well worth the wait. Also, I am making another journal to join the next rounds. I did have a question though. Is it possible to send me the emails of all the participatants. I would love the thank all of them who did a page. Or do you know a way I can find it through swapbot
Comment: Oh so many goodies. Love the frog fabric--one of my "to do" projects is a quilt with different frog fabrics. Lots of the stuff is going to immediate use for some of my swaps--the ATC blanks, the pens, and post-its. The journal I'm going to use to keep quotes from my reading. One of the corks fell into the hands of my foster cat and I'll probably never get it back. Thanks so much!
Response: about two days after going through my stash looking for frog fabric (my mom's FAV) to send to you, I found about 15 MORE scrap patterns. Sigh. At least it's sort of organized now!
Comment: Thank you for reminding me to put on stamp. Love the extra's and no I've never been to Punxsutawney to see the little rodent. Think Spring.
Response: seems like the south has gotten a lot of cold weather this year, but i'm a northerner so i'm thinking this is nothing compared to a normal new england winter :) but when we decide to move back north, it's going to be a long, cold adjustment. I'll try to send some 50 degree weather your way!
Comment: WOW! Love this journal page, absolutely delightful drawing and lettering, and a clean design. Wish this was in my journal.
Response: thanks! that means a lot coming from you...i have enjoyed your art in all the journals i've seen so far! in fact, i received a journal today and your gold fish made out of rice/tissue paper was awesome!
Comment: I LOVE the two FQs that you sent! They are perfect for the lime/citron swap. I'll have a good time trying to decide what to use them for.
Response: oh yay! so glad you liked them...i loved them, but was worried they weren't Lime-y enough! i have no idea what I'll use any of my FQs for, but they'll be there, in my stash, when something arises!
Comment: Such a cute ladybug!! I'm looking forward to showing her around my old home and my new home since I have her during my move. :)
I just realized that the bag of goodies came from you. I was confused for a bit. I made a little ladybug for my Frannie based on Gramma G's pattern since she liked it so much. Thanks for the extra treat!!
Comment: Swaaeeet swap cards, & enives you sent. I really liked the octopus stamped too. The swap cards almost look like business cards. Very impressive. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness in this swap. blessings, ellie
Response: Thanks! They are my own design. The octo envie is a drawing i did forever ago, i just digitized it!! If you want, I can send you the pdf for the octopus :)
Comment: I'm so sorry this is late. I really thought I had done it! Maura is a doll! (lol) We took her to the dr.s office and then gave her a rest in the rocker on the front porch. We had a lot of fun with her. She even helped grandpa with the dishes one night! Thaks for sharing her with us.
Comment: Love your journal construction, nicely done, and love the paper you choose for the covers. After reading your bio, I see a theme emerging. Great humor in the art as well and I can see you love the process of art and being in the zone. Happy swapping, : ) Amberlight
Response: thanks for sending me a pic of the art you drew in my journal...it's awesome!!! (update: that journal has looong been missing, so i really am glad you sent a pic!)
Comment: Thank you for the adorable ATC! You did a great job!
Response: yay! the only ink pad i had was black, and when i put water color over the finger print well...they started to look less like fingerprints! anyway. i don't do ATCs very often, but I had fun with this one and i'm glad you liked it :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the Thing and Iron Man pegs, my son LOVES them!! He said "Wow, she really did a good job!" lol He is having a blast with the super heroes cut out you sent as well! Thank you so much for everything! Your package made my son's day :)
Response: wow! i can't believe how fast the package made it to you! and i'm soo glad he likes them...i had a little too much fun "researching" and painting, for sure :)
Comment: Thanks for the package - I have lots of puzzles to keep me busy!
The envelope was cool, but I think a little flimsy and got damaged in the post - it had to be resealed in plastic by the post office!
Response: ugh. most times the handmade envelopes do ok through the postal machines if the edges are sealed well! bummer. well, at least there were a ton of extra puzzles inside so if a couple were damaged or lost you had plenty of extra for your amusement :) next time i'm covering the entire envie in packing tape - less artistic but more durable!!
Comment: Thanks so much for the great fabric! I think I will use the orange piece for a small stuffed pumpkin for Autumn...pretty. In fact...the extra piece you sent will make a cute Autumn ornament, also! I like the extra cord you sent, too. A great package! For some reason, this won't let me give you a heart! I will keep trying until it works! Okay...I exited and re-opened. I was able to give you a heart! YAY!!
Comment: Got your package! Very crafty!! sorry but there was no way I was going to be able to wait an open one a day... my boys and I opened them all before the post lady made it back to her truck! Thank you and merry christmas!
Comment: Thanks for the Tortelloni box postcard. I love the Far Side gorilla and stamps. I prefer to do most of my dumpster diving at the library old book dumpster. Very clean and well lit. Nothing worse than picking up a cool dumpster treasure and finding old Caesar salad dressing on it! I had to drive home with my arm outside of the car!
Comment: Thanks for the PC! I love old ones!! No, Byron isn't the same, :(. It is closer to Chicago than me. We are about an hour and a half from Byron. Well here we are called Port Byron-ers, so thats close enough!
Comment: Thankyou for the excellent card. I think I share the tendency to like healthy foods served with non healthy additions ( especially salad with 1000island dressing ) Nice stamps on the card too.
Comment: I loved your cd from start to finish. I especially loved that song from The General's Daughter. I can tell why you loved it so much. I already listened to it 2 times! Thanks so much.
Response: when that movie first came out, i looked EVERYWHERE for that song...and then was reminded of it when this swap started...thankfully, this time it was MUCH easier to find (what with amazon and itunes!) glad you liked it :o)
Comment: Thanks so much! I got the CD last night and started listening to it on the way to work today. It's really good so far!
**I went back in and added the heart after listening to the CD more! Super sweet tunes!
Response: i swear i listen to that mix or one with a couple extra songs on it, at least 4 times a week! sometimes it just goes on repeat for a few hours...i can't get enough, i love it!! i'm glad you're enjoying too :o) thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thanks so much for the CD Kim! There are a lot of great songs on it, and I'm listening to it right now. Just thought I'd let you know that "Hallelujah" was originally written and performed by Leonard Cohen, and it was then done by Jeff Buckley! It's a great song!
Response: huh, i didn't know that about leonard cohen...i wikipedia'd it after reading your comment :o) thanks for correcting me!! i listened to a couple of cohen's versions last night...still looking for all those "extra" verses wiki talks about :o)
Comment: Amazing CD! And I love that you made a cover for it and everything! And yes! Congrats on an awesome name >.<
Response: i realize a whole cd is "personalized" since it's all my song selections, but it's really something to see a little bit of cover art to go along with it...then you can just flip through a stack and instantly recognize what you want!!
Comment: You and I appear to have the same sort of taste! I have to agree with you on the flower and earrings. I also REALLY like the chainmaile earrings. They are excellent! I wore them yesterday and my husband actually noticed them and commented!!!! Shock!
I actually have something in mind for the "not my style" items!!!!!
Thank you so much! You did very well!
Response: i'm glad you REALLY like the chainmaille earrings :) i have a couple pairs that i love to wear myself! i'm glad you have some ideas for the "not my style" items as they are nice and i didn't want them to go to waste sitting in a drawer somewhere :)
Comment: I appreciate you checking out my shop! I hope you will keep checking back as I ad more items. I gave you a heart in appreciation for being so kind to contact me personally after checking things out!
Comment: Thank you so much! I love the covers you picked out... "Gin and Juice" gone country is making me snicker so much that my husband likely thinks that I've finally gone crazy, heh. Added: I probably shouldn't be laughing since I speak with a southern drawl, but I can't help it. This cover is just way too hilarious! Bwahahaha. I think that's why Mitch things that I'm crazy... he doesn't get why it's so funny. He, however, has never lived outside of the south, so I'm not going to fault him. ::listens to it again::
Response: i LOVE that version of gin and juice, and i'm not a country fan...it's just that the lyrics are soo funny when they are sung country!
Comment: Good boxes! I'm stealing your idea of make a fold around cover for the folded square box.Thank you!
Response: haha, i wish i could take credit for it being MY idea for the lid....but it's just something i found online. visit this website for all the directions and more ideas!! http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=410418
Comment: I had completely forgotten about that Wyclef song. I used to love it. Your octopus drawings are awesome. I have vinyl CD-Rs but yours look way better. Where did you get them? Thanks for the mix.
Response: the record looking CDs came from BestBuy, they were on sale back in december (a spindle of 50 for $7!) The octopus drawing will soon be available as a printable stationary set in my new etsy store- RedWriteReturning - come check it out in a week or so (or you can add me as a favorite now!!). Thanks :o)
Comment: Thanks for the great pictures! Kita is just adorable and looks well loved in her photos! My mom had a dog who also hated t-storms & fireworks. Our trick was to put a tight tshirt on him (the trick is to be tight on the chest) and he would calm down. It hits tension points on their chest. We called it his "muscle shirt". We now have a few clients who do this (I am a petsitter.) Might be worth a try - every dog is different. Take care!
Comment: Thank you so much for an absolutely gorgeous necklace and bracelet! The bracelet even matches what I wore to work and was wearing when I opened the package! Great work on both pieces!
Response: thanks! i wasn't sure how you would feel about pink (some days i'm crazy about it, and other days it makes me crazy!!) so i put the silver necklace in there b/c everyone has something that goes with silver (and it's one of my favorite necklaces that i wear all the time!!)
Comment: Thank you so much for sharing! Kita is adorable and looks like such a sweetie! It was great that you adopted her even though she was older. You are right though usually people do not want older dogs..very sad. But then there are people like you who come a long and adopt them..good job!
Comment: Kita is adorable!! She reminds me a lot of my dog. And kudos to you for adopting an older dog!! A friend of mine used to work at a greyhound rescue where they took in race dogs that were going to be euthanized and she said there was a couple who would come in every once in a while and only adopt the old dogs so they could give them a good, happy home for a couple of years...most of those dogs have never had a real home!
Response: We have some friends that have now adopted 2 retired greyhounds, and aside from needing to be extra careful about them getting out (they will run until collapsing of exhaustion) they are the sweetest dogs ever...and yes, soo happy to have a home :)
Comment: Kim, these look great! And thanks for going above and beyond with FOUR recipes! My husband LOVES bread pudding, I LOVE marshmallows...OMG, I want to make the Tin Roof Pie RIGHT NOW but that is dangerous because I am home alone! And the coffee cake...wow! THANKS!
Comment: I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed your card today. I am originally from Michigan and have been to Traverse City on many occasions. The card was really well done. I love your handwriting. Also, Cooper is adorable. I love Bernese Mountain dogs!
Response: Cooper was such a sweet dog! he greeted us as soon as we walked through the door and rolled over for some belly rubs! Between the super friendly dog, and the very knowledgable wine pourer, (and delicious wine) it was our favorite winery on the peninsula!
Comment: No big winner, but it's always fun to see the games in other States - I'm saving my loser tickets so maybe I can get scratch-offs from all the states that have them. . .something to collect : )
Comment: Well I did what the package said and waited till my birthday to open it. You really spoiled me. I absolutely love everything. You are a very generous swapper and I was really lucky to get you as a partner. Everything was great. You really deserve more than just one heart. Thank you sooo much, Mary
Comment: I love the beads and angel earrings! I collect angel things so these earrings are something I really appreciate. Thanks for the needle threader. I don't need it yet but probably will any day now! So sorry you had to move away from Seattle. I'm a transplanted desert rat (Arizona) and just love it here!
Comment: Thank you for all your wonderfull photos, I would love to see these places in person. I would love your job! hugs :-)
Response: haha...that trip to the bahamas was sooo not a vacation (although it seems like it should have been). it was like slave labor in the sun and heat! i still had a good time and came home with a fantastic tan (horrible tan lines, too!)
Comment: Bush the dictator... that is a good one.
Of course I saw the news with the flying shoes in Irak... Unfortunately, the guy is in prison now. Hope he is free soon. That shoe sells good now in the Middle East... LOL
Greetings from Germany!
Comment: How fun! I was a park ranger at Coulee Dam National Recreation Area many many years ago. Did you know the area around the dam, geologically, is called the Channeled Scablands??? LOL
Response: haha...i MAY have read that somewhere! my dad took a cross country trip to the World's Fair in 1962 to see the Space Needle opening, and they stopped at the Grand Coulee Dam on the way back...40+ years later, he remembered how "cool" it was, so on our last XC adventure, i insisted we take the little side trip to go there...soo much concrete, it's really incredible. i wanted to take the tour, but i don't think it's open in the winter, nor the laser light show! next time :o)
Comment: this was a lovely card...that was picked up on your way through yellowstone. its close to my heart because i remember my children having so much fun. thank you for bringing back great memories for me today.
Comment: Hi Kim, It is a small world for sure! Did your grandparents live in Weymouth? I have lived in this town for 36 years and wouldn't think of moving away. Have you been to Wessagussett Beach next to the yacht club? I live 10 houses from the water front. Last week a harp seal was sunning on the beach from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. TThe staff of the New England Aquarium came by to check the seal just to make sure he was healthy and then had to cage him and move him to Webb Park beach. Reporters from Channel 7 and 5 as well as the Patriot Ledger Newspaper and the Weymouth News were there taking pictures and interviewing us spectators. I have some great pictures. Have a wonderful Christmas and many blessings to you and your family.
Rose [email protected]
Response: My grandparents live in w. yarmouth. I am sure that i have been t the Wessaguessett Beach, but for the life i me, i can't remember, since i was just a little kid...we didn't go to the beach in the summer much b/c it was always so crowded! i remember going for a looong walk when a ship (a tanker or container ship maybe) came up on shore, that was about 22-25 years ago!! maybe you remember that....
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful Christmas card! Federal Way and Seattle got blasted by snow yesterday. What a mess! Hope you have a great Christmas.
Response: My friend sent me a picture of her husband digging out of 14 inches in Woodinville! and they moved there (from maine)thinking they would avoid big snowstorms like that! hahah. i hope you are doing well and have power and no fallen trees :)
Comment: Thank you for the package! Can't wait to try the chocolate! :-D This was my first swap, and I really enjoyed it. I'm glad I get you as partner, I really liked the things you send me! The postcards was so beautiful! I've upload one photo of the package on flickr :-) Lots of Love, Anna
