Comment: Apparently this was how you felt with the "kids" home from school. I remember those days so well. Send them out into the snow and only let them in for supper and bed! Oh! I know that won't work. As for my pc...the "eyes" have it! Thanks great addition to the growing number of pcs. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: This card is too much fun! Love it!!! I'm going to tuck him away with my holiday mantel decorations and use him next year when I decorate.
Thanks also for hosting these swaps. I have so much fun with the "exquisite corpses"!
Comment: Marissa, THANK YOU for the great PC. Loved everything about it.... It put a smile on my face when I went to the mailbox today! Thank you again and love that you and your friends have a Swap-Bot vacation just to get creative... I want to do the same here with my friends.
Comment: Thank you for the great, calming blue of the vintage Ski Colorado card, Marissa! It makes me think of scenes from Who's the Boss?, Bridget Jones's Diary: The Edge of Reason, and The Grand Budapest Hotel :) How wonderful and lucky you are for fostering -- I would love to foster furbabies one day with more space at home, but my mom and I agreed that we'd probably want to keep them instead! Good luck with training George and Jake :) Happy Halloween!
Response: Fostering is incredible. Just knowing I'm giving these puppies an amazing start on their journey makes me so happy. I missed the first set of puppies, but I was also ok with them going to their forever homes. I was afraid we'd adopt them all, but so far we're happy fostering.
Comment: Thanks for the extras! I will use the super cute owl on the notecard in an art journal for sure! I will definitely watch that movie you mentioned. Sounds totally bizarre. right up my alley :-)
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful bicycle, birds, and nature-related cards (ooh, I want to go on an excursion now :), fun extras, and for sharing your art lessons with me, Marissa :) Happy creating in this new autumn season (yesss! now if it would get a little cooler, heheh ;)
Comment: Good to hear from you again. Glad to hear you had a great weekend! I remember when both of my kids started kindergarten. Bittersweet moments. Enjoy them. My kids are now in 6th and 10th grade. Happy swapping!
Comment: Hello! I wasn't expecting the facts lol I was doing a swap that's called "5 facts about me" lol n I thought that was the swap! Until I read the swap name below lol
I use to live in lÄna'i ! I hope u enjoyed every bit of the small island :D
Comment: Thanks for the awesome vintage card! I'm new to mail art but I'm learning! I love the stamps as well! I never thought about using old stamps on my postcards. I will be doing that very soon. I just found some while cleaning out a closet! Have a wicked good evening!
Comment: H i Marissa. I hope you a great time on Cape Cod. I got back form a trip to the Badlands to find this card waiting. Love the texture and colors of this card. This particular swap is now defunct, so I'm joing the PassNPaste #30.5 to keep it circulating.
Thanks for for the beautiful vintage extras. You must have read my profile.
Response: I would love to see some photos of the Badlands. I would love to go there sometime with our children. Thank you for keeping the PC in circulation. Enjoy your weekend, Marissa
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful lighthouse postcard. Sounds like you and your family had a great weekend. Love the image of your son and the hole he dug. I also enjoy antique shopping. My oldest daughter goes with me. The youngest one finds it "boring".
Comment: Hi Marissa. I received your backgrounds today. Wow!! They are awesome!! Thank you for the extras as well. I'm so glad you enjoyed this swap :) I hope to do another one soon! Happy crafting!!
P.s. I'm so jealous you took part in a Seth Apter class!! He's awesome!!
Comment: Wow, what a beautiful envelope!!! I just love the sheep and rose! Thank you for all the amazing things you sent and I look forward to using my imagination to figure out what to craft with them. I can definitely tell you took the time to read my profile, which I greatly appreciated. Your note was also a joy to read and how nice you live so close to the ocean! I miss the ocean (lived next to it for 20 years), but at least I'm near Lake Michigan now, which kind of feels like an ocean. Enjoy your day and thanks again!
Comment: What a delight to receive this swap from you! The assortment of cards is wonderful and I can hardly wait to use them. Best of all was the letter accompanying the swap. Reading it felt like sitting down at your kitchen table and getting to know you over a cup of tea. Thank you so much for a magnificent swap!
Response: I'm so happy you like the postcards and enjoyed my letter. Happy to write again if you want to send me a letter, let me know.
Comment: Thank you for the amazing drop papers and magazine images! I like cutting out magazine pictures too. My favorite piece is the one with turquoise triangles on it. The stenciled letters are amazing too! Thank you so much! I love all the papers. I read your card; I have never fostered any animals because I will probably get too attached too them. The envie looks really cool too.
How To Tea Dye:
First, brew some tea. Make sure it is concentrated, and you need a lot of tea.
Second, pick your papers! Some cool options are book paper and lined pages.
Third, drop your paper into the tea dye. Lift out the papers and set them out to dry.
Fourth, sort through the papers and repeat!
Thanks for asking!
Response: Thank you for the instructions. I will have to try this week. Now I just need to decide which papers I want to dye.
Comment: Oh boy, the postage stamps you placed on the PC and the colored rubber stamp image of a bathing beauty deserve a HEART. Thank you for making a rainy Saturday in Texas even better. Hope to swap again soon!
Comment: Thank you so much for all your cards and goodies, I really like them.
It's nice to have a look into your life these past weeks.
And the oldest child going to Kindergarten for the very first time is another milestone in a child's life.(And of course of the parents) Enjoy these moments. They are grown up in a blink of an eye.
Comment: Thank you for the fun envelope. Unfortunately many people are now doing many versions of my swap, which can be a bit confusing. In our group, we don't use stickers and this postcard has been stickered at each person. lol. I'll pass it on.
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful bicycle card, vintage postage, and fun stickers, Marissa! I love that you have a dedicated creative space -- I have wanted to reclaim my desk for that purpose and not have to keep either putting away tapes or letting them pile up messily :p Thank you for inspiring me! :)
Comment: GrEaT Postcards - hard to pick a favorite :-) Love the notecard and your mail art too! Thank you for the CONTGRATS. I feel very fortunate I could finally leave. The stress of IT takes a lot out of many others I've worked with over the years. I may decide to do something part-time/local next year, but definitely won't go back to IT. My brother is much better, should be headed back to work within the next week or so -thank you for asking. Have a GrEaT Day. Take care, Annette
Comment: Thank you for the cool anatomy chart card -- reminds me of Miss Frizzle and The Magic School Bus :) -- and great vintage postage (especially the James Thurber caricature! and New Yorker font!), Marissa! I feel a little less gross knowing that evening Massachusetts and New York are experiencing this hot, humid weather, although I would be happy if we all had mild weather :) Happy almost-weekend!
Comment: Unbelievable how this envelope travelled to my house the way it looks. A lot of the time I am not so impressed by the postoffice, but this time I must make a bow. I certainly have to make a bow to you for this unorthodox way of decorating. It's a true piece of art. Thank you. The Coll PC is a real challenge to add to, and your extra's are very lovely and welcome. Great swap !!!
Comment: Lovely, lovely card and so many suggestions of what I should see in Boston! I myself moved across Europe five years ago, I know how exciting it feels to have found your (physical) place on earth! ;) Thank you!
Comment: Thank you so much for the really cool postcard and thank you for congratulating me on my little one who is not so little and getting bigger every day I think she maybe had her terrible twos about 6 months to early. I love stayed at home with her but some days I wish I worked outside of home so that I can get away for just a few minutes thankful you have a great family who always is willing to take her even when I don't need h I love stayed at home with her but some days I wish I worked outside of home so that I can get away for just a few minutes thankful you have a great family who always is willing to take her even when I don't need them to
Comment: I was definitely never a runner. Up until college I was a total "couch potato" in every sense of the phrase. Man am I glad I finally decided to change my habits! Congrats to you on your goals! I am sorry to hear about your ACL. That is definitely a rough position to be in for sure. Definitely one of my concerns is my knees.
Hope you have a great week :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful postcard and the quote from A Bug's Life! I love it! I've never yet been to Walt Disney World, so it was neat to see their version of "The Castle." And as a special, highly coincidental, bonus, today I also received the same card from Disneyland Resort in California, with their Castle on it! :-)
Comment: Thank you for the tongue postcard. I like weird ones!! lol I also like the stamps you used. Good luck in nursing/medical school. I don't think I could go back to school anymore. More power to you!!
Comment: Thank you for the PC and great stamps Marissa! How nice to have family that lives by Disneyland, your kids will love it when you visit! :D Our daughter said the weather in Burbank was grueling the last 2 days, around 107 but now they have a cold spell down to 91 lol.
Comment: Thank you for the adorable frog card (reminds me of how much I enjoyed biology and lab in college), great vintage postage, and for evoking the comfort of fresh laundry :) Hope your summer is off to a good start!
Comment: Hi Marissa! Thanks for your card! I been to most museums around DC, but I haven't been to the new ones yet. The zoo was fine, and I like seeing the pandas the most there! Well, honestly, staying in school here during this year is really hot and I don't really like the students at school unfortunately.
Comment: Thank you for the card of glittering Vancouver at night -- my long weekend trip there in September 2013 was happy and memorable for the city's natural beauty, punctuality, friendliness, and progressiveness, and I would love to revisit for a longer period! How great that you were able to watch WtB? in its original run! I wasn't old enough to have watched Alf, Dawson's Creek (I remember sneaking a copy of Y&M magazine with Katie Holmes on the cover -- I wasn't permitted to read any teen magazines like that or Seventeen or TeenPeople when I was 12-13), 90120, or Melrose Place. I wish that some of the older shows would be released at least on DVD, since not all of them (like WtB?) are currently streaming online or airing in syndication, and even if they are, they're often edited for content/length. I guess audiences today are so spoiled by extensive behind-the-scenes content and commentaries on newer shows' DVD/Blu-Ray releases? :) Hope you have a good weekend!
Comment: This is so pretty! I love that you told me about all the layers. The layers is what makes the card!
So many people have talked about gelli prints lately that I may have to take the plunge! Lol
Thank you so much for this card!
Comment: Thank you Marissa for the art postcard and with the older stamps that you were so kind enough to send me! that world cup stamp was for the 94 games! I dont remember seeing that one! Thanks so much!
Comment: Pretty P.C. Must see/hike? Diana's Bath on West side road, also the Conway Scenic RR should be fun for the littles. I lived in Weymouth, about a mile from the South Shore hospital, about 5 years or so ago.
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful view of the Scituate coast, vintage stamps (I love Ms. Merman and the toleware, and the American kestrel brings back fond memories of accompanying my dad to the post office and buying stamps from the dispenser in the wall -- the kestrel was the add-on/bonus, and I remember being thrilled every time something emitted from the slots, my philatelic tendencies manifested early :), and message. I have read The Four Agreements and am constantly working on living them; thank you for the reminder! Hope you are having a good weekend!
Comment: I love this shot thru the Eiffel tower. Wish I knew what the building in the background was. I guess my grand babies would say, "Google it Aunt Sissy." I might have to try that. Great PC. Thank you so much.
Response: Thank you for the kind reply. I am loving getting postcards in the mail. I feel like a kid again. I get so excited when I see the mail carrier.
Comment: Hi Marissa! Your postcard is so cute! I love the cut outs. A bit of it is missing, I'd love to see what the missing part was. It was the hand (and maybe something in it?) at the end of the arm on the right side. I hope we'll have more swaps together.
Response: Oh man! That was the best part. It was a hand holding a camera ;( I'm so sorry.
