Comment: I really enjoyed your atc... and someone has seriously needs to tell me the secret to getting stamps off without the paper... THANKS YOU FOR THE USED STAMPS <3 I see these coming in handy ad being alot of fun
Response: I haven't tried to soak off the modern self adhesives. But if you have older stamps, say pre 1990, warm to hot water is fine. Separate those on white paper from manila or colored paper, and keep an eye on the ones on colored, watch for bleeding. You can swish them around. It's best to wait til they're off the paper but it's ok to carefully help them along. Try to get all the glue off the back or they'll stick to the blotter. I used either watercolor paper or paper towels and weighed them down with something heavy. Hope this helps and thx for the heart
Comment: I received your ATC today. It's gorgeous! I love the woven texture. And the handmade/imported paper is very cool! Thanks Lin Collette (rhodyart) for the extra little surprise you sent. How very thoughtful. This is only the 2nd swap I've received in swap-bot, and I never thought about something like this. I will have to start trying something similar.
Response: The woven texture is something I started trying out last year for another project that didn't go well. Recently I decided to try doing it on a smaller scale and it's easier. You really have to watch for evenness on the ends. I'm glad you liked it and the goodies and thanks for the heart
Comment: Great ATC-love the use of US and foreign stamps. Thanks also for the extra stamps-I do collect them and love them-good to get some foreign ones!
Response: Very glad that you liked the ATC and can use the stamps. I collected stamps for years - now don't have much time for it so I'm glad to pass them on to those who like them. Thanks also for the heart
Comment: Thanks for the lovely ATC, with the appropriate wordage- what with this being the year of my golden jubilee! Thanks also for the nice little collection of stamps. Oh I enjoyed the way the stamp and the card matched their purples!
Response: Glad you liked it, and thanks for the heart
Comment: Thank you you for the images you found. I love the flowers. Thank you for the stamps. How did you get them removed so neatly. They are so fun!
Response: Glad you like them. I think the stamps I sent that are used are all old, in the days when you licked stamps to put them on the envelope. So they were easily soaked off in water and dried on paper towels. These days it's almost impossible to do it neatly (though my mom in law seems to be able to do it).
Comment: YAY! I was your partner! I love this ATC! I like everything about it, from the near monochromatic coloring of the card, the slight shimmer, the ribbon, the birds on the stamp mirroring the birds on the card, the jewel and fibrous paper in the corner, THANKS! I will be your partner anytime, k?!
Response: Me too. I almost didn't let that go but when I saw it was you, off it went ♡♡♡
Comment: Thank you! (I think you sent me two PCs for this swap, Rhode Island AND the beach) At this time of year I'll take the Florida beach lol :D
Response: I did. I already had the rhode island one prepared and then read your profile and decided you needed some place warm. So I sent you the beach too. Glad you liked them, and thanks for the heart
Comment: What a beautifully made ATC! Love the background, the quote, and the gold trim...would love to know where you got the trim! Thanks so much for it and for the extras!
Response: Wow, thanks for the nice words. There's one of 2 places I could have gotten the trim and I think this is the most likely http://www.homesew.com/r354.html#.Vr3Mt8tOk0M
Thanks for the heart too
Comment: very creative use of materials,,I love it,, I know how you feel wanting to use more expensive stuff but this card looks like you did.. pretty colors, gold and jewels, who could ask for more than that,,,thank you
Response: It really was a challenge but I enjoyed it. On the other hand, I must say that I use stuff from I bought from dollar tree a lot. As a good friend who's an OT attests, dollar stores can be the best sources for decent quality craft supplies at a low price, and I myself depend on dollar tree for the craft workshops I run. Anyway thank you so much for the rating and hesrt, and I'm glad you liked it
Comment: I love everything that youve sent! Happy Valentines friend! That background paper with the silver stars is AMAZING!!!!! THANKS! I am going to be selfish, and make an ATC for myself with it... TEE HEEheee!
Response: I'm glad you liked the paper, and the atc. This was a fun one to make. Thanks also for the heart
Comment: Thank you. I will have to look up ennue! I had not thought to make Envies with the finished page-great idea:-)
Response: Ennui is basically intense boredom. Which hopefully you don't have. B-)
The envelope was a last minute idea. Previously I'd been putting them on envelopes but right now I haven't been. Anyway glad you liked it and thanks for the heart
Comment: thank you so much for the beautiful card and ATC thank you for letting me join and making wonderful remembrance of this extraordinary man, artist, and musician <3
Response: Thanks so much for the kind words. I became a fan at 11 when my brother brought home the hunky dory album. The new one, black star, is amazing. I got it the day it came out. I'll miss him being in the world but at least we have his music
Comment: Lin, your package is amazing! Such a huge variety of items...and I can't wait to use them all. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! p.s. I wish I could leave you more than one heart- this was an amazing envelope!
Response: Yay! Glad you can use them. I'm never sure if my idea of paper treasure matches other people's. And thanks for the heart
Comment: WOW and DOUBLE WOW!!! I couldn't believe all those cards!! What a great selection! I loved the RI map, Bryce, Coral World in Bahamas, Prague, and the Boston/Fenway Park but the others were also very nice! Although I can only give you one heart you certainly deserve more! Thanks again!
Comment: Thank you for leaving an actual comment on my blog, not something copied and pasted. I hope you enjoy following me!
Response: You know, I feel obligated to at least read the most recent post, right? After all.... I've been leaving hearts for people who actually comment. Part of my comment usually is cut and pasted (like the part with my name and blog info for ex) but I like to say something personal
Comment: Thanks for the note Lin. So, you've worked at Brown U for 22 years? That's a long time. I work at a high school and have worked there for 18 years. I used to job share with my twin sister and I loved it!
Comment: Thanks for following my blog and the wonderful comment. It took me a minute to figure out who you were... found it because you signed your comment w/ lin. :) It was like a mini scavenger hunt. (Find rhodyart, here is your clue!)
Response: oops what a twit I am. sorry about that--i think I was crosseyed at that point
Comment: thanks lin

thanks for the music sheet too very handy for card making etc
Response: baseball! opening day for baseball is in April and as I am an avid baseball fan, it celebrated that
Comment: Another gorgeous ATC, Lin. And thanks for the extra photos. You have such great ancient gravestones on the east coast - we're pretty new here in the west. Architecture isn't what it used to be. And a super thanks to your for the extra cards you sent me after the 9-11 swap. Thanks! Dana Roper
Comment: Thanks again, Lin. Your 9-11 ATC is a great tribute to your friend - it's very colorful and fun. Thanks! Dana Roper
Response: Sadly I just got word that she has to have major surgery to repair a problem in her brain--she won't last much longer if she doesn't have the surgery but the surgery may kill her. So I am feeling rather sad about her right now thanks for the compliment
Comment: This has to be one of the most impressive atc's that I have ever seen..The tiny book just blew me away...I am honored to add this one to my collection..And Thanks for the extra stuff..I wish I could give you more than just one heart for this atc..
Response: All cards have been sent to everyone the day after the swap opened. I have contacted this swapper to find out what's going on. A new card has been remailed--this swapper has the habit of rating everyone a 1 until they re-send. Beware!
Comment: Hi Lin - I was just going through old swaps and realized I had forgotten to rate you on this one - it's great - very colorful. And great composition. Sorry it took me so long. Thanks! Dana Roper
Comment: Lin, I received my ATC today. I have been trading for 4 yrs and have never received one done on an actual sports trading card. Really neat! Great theme. :) I also really like the Indigo Bunting card that you sent it in.
Thanks for a great swap. Rating: 5+ sharon/inkybru
Comment: Dear Lin, I think this is our first swap together. What a great first swap it was for me!! I appreciate the varied techniques you used to create the ATCs you sent me--stickers, photos, metal embellishments, ribbons w/words, use of creative scissors, ribbon, brads, poems & quotes, and die cuts. I will proudly add your ATCs to my ever growing ATC collection. I look forward to swapping with you in the future. Until then--Happy Swapping!!!
Comment: Thank you so much for volunteering to be a swap angel for the Dollar Store Shopping Spree Swap! Your partner (kwood4304) said you did a wonderful job with the package you sent to her! Three cheers for you!
