Comment: Oh your letter was so lovely! Thank you for the book page (the book seemed really fascinating: perhaps I'll read it myself some day!) and the tea (I love the scent of it) and the letter, which was absolutely wonderful .)
Response: Oh! I'm so glad you liked it! I finished the book and enjoyed it quite a bit. If you think we have anything in common, feel free to write back. Enjoy the tea!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely swap, your book really does have an intriguing premise- I've always wondered about that kind of temptation when working in a postal place ^^ Thank you also for the tea & pretty sugar packets :D (it is always exciting getting sugar sachets!) I enjoyed reading your note~ sounds like you've had your hands full in the library recently, I'll be starting my course in 3 weeks.. I'm nervous but also really excited! Thanks again :3
Response: I'm glad I had those pretty sugar packets to send & that you enjoyed my swap. Thanks for the heart. Good luck in your course work & happy reading.
Comment: Great homemade PC. I love it! What is a katydid? You seem to eat so healthy! Way better than I could ever hope to eat! Thanks for a fun swap!
Response: Ha! I try for healthy but don't always make it. Today I had a Jimmy Dean breakfast biscuit & blueberry pie for breakfast! Glad you liked the postcard. I love homemade postcards! Would you like to engage in a homemade postcard correspondence? Katydids are related to grasshoppers & crickets and make a chirping that sounds like their name. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Hey April, Thanx for the neat cardboard PC. I appreciate the neat stickers on it as well. It was very thoughtful of you. No I am not a member of the Red Hat Society, YET. In another year once my hubby retires then I will become a member:-) If we lived near one another I would invite you to join me:-) Thanx again and have a great weekend. blessings, ellie
Response: Thanks for the nice rating and the heart!
Comment: I love my pkg from you !!!!!!!! Your letter was so interesting. I would like to write back to you. Thx for getting the USPO to use 4 stamps. I read through the Deerpark Diary Newsletter and the Orange County NY Tourism Map and colorful booklet of Attractions and Activities. I am always looking for Scenic Drive Byways and higher elevation. What a treasure you included in the envelope with the hand crafted (2.5 x 2.75 ) mini journal. The colors, the medallion, the antique tapestry- esque background and binding tape are exquisite to my eyes. I have my magnifier glass trying to read the words on the tape. I have typed the phrases in a search engine (it appears to be a land purchase description recorded on an antique deed in Great Britain.) Heading to lunch and to peruse the reading materials again.
Response: I'm so glad my envelope was a hit! I have to admit, I didn't make the mini journal. I received 2 in a recent swap and decided to share. Isn't it precious? (I received your message and will definitely check out those links!) Please do write back. I'd love to get acquainted. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thanks for stopping by my blog, yes it is so much easier to have an exercise partner! I had been wishing for someone to walk with and soon after she called about walking together...coincidence? Naaaa ;)
Response: Keep up the good work! Thanks for the nice rating & heart.
Comment: It seems like everyday I get a new favourite postcard, and the fireman one is definitely today's favourite! Have you ever been to.. Man, I forget the name -- the place in Montana where there's fireman school? I wanted to a be a fireman for a long time, but some nonsense happened, which will never let that happen. ;[
Response: I've never been to Montana. Maybe someday. Could you be a volunteer fireman? Where I live, almost all of the fire companies are made up of volunteers & I think they're happy for whatever members they can get. Best wishes & thanks for the heart.
Comment: Most of the swappers in the Intl version seem to be from the USA. I don't know why! I am VERY interested in the butternut squash ravioli and am going to check my grocery store. It sounds so good!
Response: I hope you can find the ravioli; it's delicious. FYI: the packaging may look different now. Thanks for rating.
Comment: Nice PC! Accomlishment is overrated...We really need to stop shoulding all over ourselves. It stinks! :)
Response: I don't remember what I wrote on that card, after all it was a captured moment of randomness, but I like your response! Yes, shoulding stinks! Lol. Thanks for the heart and for brightening my evening.
Comment: Thanks for the thought provoking poetry. :) Please be sure to write your poems on a separate piece of paper with your information as listed in the guidelines to prevent partners from down rating.
Response: You're welcome. I'll remember to rewrite the poem on a separate sheet next time. Sorry about that.
Comment: Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I was 3 months old when Mount St Helens exploded, so I don't remember it, but I remember my first in person view of the devastation as a kid. It stuck with me.
Response: Wow. It must be interesting to watch how the area changes over time. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thanks for your comment ant best of luck with your summer reading program! I will be posting some more dough recipes this week and our under the sea sensory tote should be put together in a few weeks:)
Response: Thanks for the heart! Good luck with your projects as well.
Comment: Love the Lion King pc. While you are right, I never thought about how the movies really were. Makes me think about all the movies.
Response: I'm glad you like the card. People complain that the Grimm fairy tales are gruesome & not meant for kids. I think they'd say the same if Disney movies weren't animated with cute-looking characters! Thanks for the heart.
Comment: YES! I like the fountain. Our friends took us here last year and it was fantastic! Go there for an overnight sometime - the whole complex is amazing! Thanks for the card that reminded me of that place!
Response: I'm glad my card brought back memories. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thanks for the hotel card for my collection! I think I like these kind of cards because they remind me of my childhood in the '70's, when my family went on an annual vacation and stayed in places like this. I would always pick up one of the free postcards.
Response: Note that I know why you like this style card, I can imagine you collecting them as a child. Thanks for the image & the heart.
Comment: Your two note cards were very nice. I will be thrilled to send them to someone in a future swap. I also loved the flowered note pad you wrote on. If by chance you ever get me again, I would love about 3 of those note papers.
Response: I'm glad you like the note cards. I'll try to remember about the floral paper; maybe I'll just send some your way as a RAK. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for considering my taste as well when picking the film! I know it and will be thrilled to watch it :). I'll write my review for it and send it on to my partner in the next round and can send you a copy as well if you would like.
Response: I'd love to hear your opinion of Grave of the Fireflies. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: I just noticed that you haven't even marked this as sent... I don't like to rate a 1.... BUT, this deadline was in MARCH.... I will gladly change the rating if I ever receive anything.... Sorry
Response: Please contact me. If love to send, but I've lost your address.
Comment: I wish I could give you more hearts, this is FANTASTIC! I too have always been fascinated by zines but have never done one (I'm starting to get into art journalling). Thank you for sharing a bit of your life with me and I can't wait until you "publish" the next one :-) Happy Swapping!!
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful cow PC. I love it! We too had one day in the 50s, but then were hit with snow and have had cold and snowy weather since. I keep telling myself it can't last much longer, but I'm feeling dispirited!
Response: Glad you liked the postcard. It's been a mild weekend here with rain today. I can actually see the lawn & my daffodils have sprouted. Spring can't be too far off, can it?
Comment: Wow, Connie, Thanks! for writing a lot on the postcard & with different color inks. I thought I was one of the few, but more and more people are surprising me. I'm glad you had warm weather recently. We had 2 days in the 70's last week, but then more snow & rain this week. Seems like Spring is Just around the corner! Take care & I hope to swap with you again. :)
Response: Hi Lisa, Thanks for the heart. Nothing pleases me more than a postcard filled with writing and a sense of who the sender is, so I understand what you mean. I hope we swap again soon.
Comment: Thank you for your list of 50 RAKs! I love the different categories and the paper you printed them on. Thank you also for the tea. I love Good Earth, and the white chocolate kisses tea I've never seen before. Enjoy your day! P.S. You said you've done letterboxing, but that there aren't many boxes in your area - - well, you might just have to place a few (smile).
Response: Thanks for the heart! I never saw the white chocolate kisses tea until recently; I think it was a Valentine's special. Regarding the letterboxing: I'd like to offer a letterboxing program at my library and then hide a box somewhere in the library. My director has given me approval; now I just have to come up with an actual plan!
Comment: Thanks for the tea and letter! I very much enjoyed it and hope to reply to you soon. I was already drinking a cuppa tea when your letter arrived :D -- but I look forward to trying the tea you sent (thank you for that, too!).
Response: Thanks for the heart! I'm looking forward to receiving your letter.
Comment: Thank you so much for the post card. You place sounds lovely and I totally understand about staying up to late and procrastinating. Although I would say that there isn't such a thing as too much tea (or coffee or caffeine for that matter). :)
Comment: I loved the butterflies and flowers garland strings on the front of the pc. And because you wrote a newsy note on it, you get a heart from me! I don't normally give hearts in a pc swap (cause how "extra special" can it be?) but when someone really makes an effort to tailor the card for me (I love butterflies!) and writes all over the available space, yeah, it deserves hearts! Thank you so much, Connie!
Response: Karla, I'm glad you liked the postcard. Before sending out a swap, I look at each of my partners' profiles in an effort to tailor my swap to her preferences. I figure if I'm sending something why not take an extra moment to send something that my partner prefers. Thanks for the heart.

Comment: It looks like we have a lot in common. I too enjoy doing sudoko puzzles, being in nature. Not a serious birdwatcher, but I do enjoy stopping and watching them out my window or while I'm on a walk. At the end of the month the Eagles should return so I keep checking out their favorite nest for activity. I enjoyed the cup of tea the same night I received your letter. Yum, it was perfect for a cold winter night.
Response: Thanks for the heart. I'm glad you enjoyed the tea & letter. Have you seen any eagles yet?
Comment: Thanks so much for the thoughtful, well written letter and tea! You're right, I think we would definitely have a fun afternoon together... we have so much in common! It's nice to know that other share my interest in what some have deemed as "odd" hobbies. Also, I loved the powerpuff postcard! Thanks so much!! I'll definitely write back to you via snailmail soon!! :)
Response: Hi Sharon! I'm glad you enjoyed my letter & tea. (Thanks for the heart, by the way.) I'd love to hear from you via snail mail. Have a great day!
Thanks so very much for the wonderful batch of postcards you sent me. I love your homemade envelope too. Do tell me where is your town located at? Maybe you might like to do a Private Postcard Swap with me. Let me know.
Response: You're welcome! I"m glad you liked it. Watch your inbox for an email.
Comment: thank you so much connie! as i wz shoveling ICE off of the driveway from the storm that both you and i got clobbered with, the postal worker drove up and handed me your swap bot envelope. what a nice surprise! thanks for the extra cards - very cute! stay warm/drive safely and happy swapping!
Response: Hi Mary! Boy! That got there fast, especially considering the weather. I'm glad they brightened your day. We got 5-6 inches of snow with an inch or so of sleet on top. And more storms on the way for Saturday & Tuesday. You stay warm & safe also. and thanks for the heart. Connie
Comment: Thank for sending! You´re right, better late then never! Anne Frank was a book I had to read at school and we went to a Anne Frank-Museum, its really interesting! And the book A Northern Light sounds really good!
Response: If you liked Anne Frank you would probably enjoy Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli. It's a ficional account of an orphan during the war. (I don't remember which country it takes place in.) Lots of action & emotion! Thanks for your patience & the heart. I hope you enjoy some of the books I've read.
Comment: Re-rating: AprilShowers had computer problems and so was late in sending, but the list she's sent now is great, even with updates of what she already accomplished in the meantime, so it deserves a heart!
Comment: I never received anything from you for this swap. I have sent you messages and never got a response. Sorry.
I did receive this swap so I am happy to boost you to a 3. Thanks for sending it to me.
Comment: Very unusual and a strange coincidence because I remember my mom and my grandmother had a TON of this stuff. I very clearly remember using Tri-Chem when I was little! That was fun trip back in time, thank you so much. ~wendy "Progress through Chemicals" lol
Response: Oh! I'm so glad that I chose that postcard for you and that it brought back some memories. What are of the chances of that? Thanks for the heart.
Comment: I don't care for Las Vegas either - too much dessert! I live in a neighborhood where the streets are named after mountain ranges. I also used to live near the Catskill Mountains - they are beautiful but too much snow for me!
Response: Yeah, it's been a long, cold, stormy winter here and I can't wait for it to end. Thanks for rating.
Response: My goodness, did that card just arrive??? It was the original I sent on Jan. 30! My replacement card (showing a different scene) went out on March 2. When it arrives, consider it a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thank you for the GREAT card! You couldn't have picked better for me:) I am a cat person too--have 4, but I love dogs too (have 1) and I work for a vet & volunteer for animal rescue here in NC so your card was PERFECT! Which I could give you more then 1 heart!
Response: I'm glad you like the card. Technically, it's an ad card and a lot of people don't like them, but after reading your profile I decided to chance it. Hearts to you for working with animal rescue. <3
Comment: thank you Connie for the lovely p/card.
i have had day lilies for years and i moved them and re-potted them this year and now they are flowering beautifully.i would cry if squirrels ate my plants.
Response: Thanks for sharing your success with the lilies. I haven't given up; I love flowers too much not to grow them!
Comment: Connie, I very much like the pc. Thank you so much!
Response: I'm glad you like it! The gravity railroad was used in conjunction with the Delaware & Hudson Canal in the transport of coal from northeast PA to NYC and other cities along the Hudson River. This website gives a nice overview of the history:
http://www.minisink.org/delhud.html This website has a quick history but lots of old photos:
Thanks for the heart.
Comment: OH, what a wonderful card! LOVE those houses
Response: You'd love Cape May! There are so many Victorian homes there! To get a bit of the city's history & to see some photos, go to: http://www.capemaytimes.com/history/victorian.htm
Thanks for the heart.
Comment: lol. I remember these (trolls) but never understood the fascination. Are they 'retro' now?
cool card -- thanks
Response: I never understood the fascination either. It's interesting how certain things catch on. Maybe they got their second life because the fat character on the Drew Carey show had them on her desk.
Comment: Thank you, Connie, for the handmade postcards. The're lovely. I use either a Xyron machine or a UHUstic adhesive stick. It is thick and holds very well. I find the more liquid the glue, the more saturated the paper becomes and cause ripples.
Response: I'm glad you liked the cards. Thanks for the heart & the gluing tips. :)
Comment: Thanks Connie. I thought you were really brave to bare your soul like that. It is so easy to sabotage ourselves. I had to go to therapy to get out of the patterns I had and I'm still working on it. Good luck!
Response: Thanks for your warm response, Annette. I get so frustrated with myself sometimes. I certainly was when I wrote that letter! I decided to pour it all out in an attempt to "write it down, make it happen." Now to see how much I can "make it happen." Thanks for the heart. Good luck to you as well as you continue to fashion your best self.
Comment: I howled with laughter when I saw the "altered baby" postcard! it took me a while to check whether it was indeed a doll... ;-) Yes, Cabbage Patch stuff used to be very popular in England and is having a revival today. Thank you for brightening up my day! It was hilarious! :-D
Response: Another happy adoption! I'm glad you enjoyed the card. :) I get quite a bit of pleasure when I'm able to match a postcard with a recipient who will appreciate it. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thank you for all the goodies. The dictionary is amazing. I adore it. The others are so good as well. You put so much effort into it. When I get to NYC we must stay in touch!!
Response: I'm glad you liked your package :) I had fun putting it together. The dictionary was a last minute find; we both got lucky with that one! I wonder what you'll do with it? Use the pages for papercrafts or keep it intact as a book? In any event, have fun!
Comment: Holy crap! This is quite possibly the most horrible, fabulous, tacky, delightful, awful, wonderful postcard I've gotten ever. Thanks so much! Not sure if I have anything to compare, but do PM me!
Comment: I absolutely love the book, thank you so much--I started reading it yesterday at the Drs office! New books are always fun! It was fun to read your list, thank you so much for sharing. You are a GREAT partner, sent quickly and really put thought into going beyond the requirements. Thank you so much! ♥
Response: I'm glad you like the book! I'm trying to "simplify" my life and as I clean out I'm passing things on to others who may enjoy them.
