Comment: Thank you for the Pa farm. Christy I have tried to give you a heart but for some reason it won't let me, sorry! I do not like this new format on Swap-Bot. I'm wondering if others are having as much trouble as I seem to be. Finally got it to let me give you a heart.
Comment: Love the postcard - I didn't know that about the angler fish. I googled it and it does look like something from a science fiction movie. So does its reproduction methods - creepy news for the male!
Comment: Hi Christy! What a cute pc! Yep I was the punch art ATC queen for a while! LOL! I have gotten away from ATCs but love 9 pocket letters - go figure! LOL! Just a FYI, because your pc is square, it requires an add'l .21 in postage, not a biggie for me but did not want someone to be rude about it! I know folks usually are not, but once in a while... Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Oh, I'm sorry, I thought the first class postage instead of the postcard postage would be okay for the square - I didn't know it would require even more. Sorry!
Comment: When we lived in the northern part of Georgia we got snow. living in the southern part of the state we dont get snow we get ICE. i hate driving on ice. thanks for the gorgeous horse postcard. they are beautiful creatures.
Comment: Hi Christy! Thanks for the fun pc! It is still a tad chilly here - work up to temps in the low 40's and a windchill in the 30's - I wish they would not share that info - brrr! LOL! It was finally a sunny day though, so that was a bonus!! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Christy I love this card! You are so talented! He is so cute with his hands hiding his eyes with all the pastel shades, he is just so adorable. You did an amazing job on this card and I am so glad to have this in my collection. Thank you so much!😊💖ðŸ°ðŸŒŸðŸ‘
Comment: Another "Christy-with-a-CH-and-a-Y"! You know the struggle lol! We have an awesome name. I really loved your mixed media ATC, the colors are awesome. Did you use gelli prints or a masterboard? That would have been a fun masterboard to cut up! I also really love that swap bot stamp on the envie, where can I get my hands on that?! Thanks for the fun paper bits and flickr compliments too :)
Response: Thanks, the base was a masterboard and the larger heart was made from a gelli print paper. I custom ordered the swap bot stamp a while ago - I just love Ernie!
Comment: Thanks for the great postcard 😋 I've known people that have been to lots of conventions including New York and San Diego and they always said San Diego is the biggest and best, you gotta go. So I did and it was amazing but I think I'm going to take a break this year and try to hit up BGG CON in Dallas. It's all about board games and that's what I'm really focused on at the moment and it's much cheaper than going to San Diego. Have a great day, Nathan
Response: Oh, I've been to BGG in Texas-it was so much fun and hard to remember to sleep! Gotta go out at least once while you're there to get some BBQ!!
Comment: Thank you Christy. Pablo Neruda is one of my favorite poets. Another translation of those last lines is: "..as if you were burning inside. Under your skin the moon is alive." What great imagery!
Response: Thanks for sharing the translation with me. I just thought the line was so ethereal and seemed to fit the woman.
Comment: Got the beautiful cardinal card in today's mail :) Thank you :) We were quite surprised at how big our cats got - they were all rescues so no history on breed or anything - our big orange one is about 30 pounds now. He's such a gentle giant too :) Has thumbs and knows how to use them to open door knobs haha! The two grays cuddle with each other, but play hard with the big orange guy :)
Comment: So pretty! Thank you. My mother was born and raised up there near mount rainier. I may have seen it before, but I can't remember it as I was so small when we visited my grandma up there years ago.
Comment: Thank you for the cool Virginia map PC! And thank you for what you wrote...our adopted kids are just like bio kids to us. I know they were always meant to be part of us, and we are so thankful to have such a blessed big family!
Comment: Hi Christy! Aren't you so sweet to send a card that includes a coupon - whoop, whoop! I have not used this site before, but will be checking it out! Thanks so much for the great Happy Mail! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Thank you for your wonderful, fishy creation--I love it! It seems to have survived the post quite well.
I'm glad you enjoy my flickr photos, thank you! I have turned a few of the "toys in nature" shots in postcards I occasionally use for Postcrossing.
Comment: excellent work of art...love this artichoke...great subject...reminded me of my first one and that butter sauce to dip in..the purplish edge of the leaves was very well done...thanks so much...
Comment: Thank you so much for the great Navesink Lighthouse -- it's a new one for me and it's always interesting to see how many lighthouses there are in the US. . . think most people think there are not many left (the same is true of wooden covered bridges). You certainly made a big move from WA to NJ. . . I moved from CA to VA 20 years ago and have never regretted it. Thanks again for the lighthouse PC and hope to see you in more swaps in the future ~~
Comment: Thank you for the NYC postcard. I don't think I have this one! It warmed up then cooled down again. The daffodils have bloomed and the tress are budding so Spring is for sure on the way. I do hope you're feeling better. xoxo
Comment: Hello Christy and thank you for the wonderful glittery Winter/Holiday PC you sent to me. How I enjoy these swaps during the Winter, Holidays, Christmas season, to put me into the mood, spirit of the season.
Comment: Thanks for the great postcard! We got one huge snow storm this year and it dumped 30" on us in 2 days! It was really nice having the time off of work, but we started going stir crazy after day 5! Cheers!
Comment: Thanks for the great recipe card! I love making cookies and can hardly wait to try it out -- hmmm, maybe some cute Easter designs? The little turtle sticker is too cute! Thanks for a delightful swap! <3<3<3
Comment: Thank you for the postcard, I love deer so this was a great choice! How cool that you like the same authors, I haven't read any of the newer works yet but I've read, and re-read, all of the main series (for both authors) :D
Comment: Thanks for this beautiful Eagle PC! We have both bald and golden eagles, here in the village! They are fascinating to watch! We have between 130 and 200 earthquakes a day, but most of them are less than 4's, which sound like a big truck going by. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Christy ~ Great selection of PCs for this swap. I, too, try to find all 8 because I find it such fun to at least try and I have a big stash of PCs. The ones you sent are perfect and how wonderful that you visited Wolf Haven - that must have been awesome and such a worthy undertaking. Thanks again for the great PCs and hope to see you in more swaps in 2016 ~~
Comment: Great PC..sorry for the late rate. We haven't had much snow here either. It's very cold this week though. My older son just moved to Portland around Thanksgiving and they had a lot of rain too. Happy New Year. Take care, Annette
Comment: Thank you Christy for the beautiful Christmas greeting postcard showing Santa Claus with two little girls by a Christmas tree. I enjoy these Christmas postcard swaps every year. Hope we meet up again in a future PC swap. Best wishes for your '2016!
Comment: Thank you for the letter, even though I think you may have died of that infection...at least the end seemed like it. One thing I was thinking whilst reading it, was that how were your cats also at the hotel with you, if you were at the hotel when the zombies came to life?
Response: When I wrote that letter my cats were with me at a hotel, because I was moving cross country from NJ to WA for real. I didn't have an apt yet, because I was on a waitlist. :)
Comment: Thanks Christy for the postcard. Love the Snow People you made. Happy Holidays.
Response: I'm so sorry that you didn't receive this! I sent it on 10/17/15, so it should have been there by now. I wish you had asked about it before rating, but I will send you a replacement right away! Thank you so much for re-rating after you received the re-send!
Comment: ♥ ♥ ♥ You totally nailed it!!!! Thank you for the most awesome PC! It will go on my awesome PC wall. And the little octopus you drew on the back is adorable. I like koi as well. :) Thanks again.
Comment: Hello Christy! You deserve a heart for the fabulous Old World Santa Clause Christmas postcard you sent to me for the swap. I loved your little drawings on the message side of the PC. You made me smile. Thank you. Its December!
Comment: Hello Christy! You deserve a heart, a heart with a lovely little mustache for the so cute kittie with curling mustache. You postcard made me laugh, brightened my spirits. Fun swap. Here in Central FL it is warming up during the day, though the cooler days & nights will return after Thanksgiving. Happy November!
Response: Thank you and so glad you liked him, I thought he was adorable too!
Comment: Terrific blackout poetry postcard and illustration! This swap was also the first time I did blackout poetry. It was so fun, the discovery of the poetry and the inspiration for the artwork. Thanks for sending me your inaugural effort - wonderful poetry and owl.
Comment: Great PC and introduction - My older son would love to be saying "he just moved to Seattle". He's currently looking into transferring to an open position in Portland, OR.. Someday he will be living west and near mountains and he gets it from me. I'd love to move as we are nearing retirement, but family is east and drivable :-) Including a SIL in NJ. My son's been to the Market there and was amazed by it. Take care, Annette
Comment: Hello Christy! You deserve a "heart" for sending me a vintage Halloween postcard image I had never seen before now. It is interesting, the naughty boys projecting image of floating item to scare the old woman. Fun PC swap. Hope you enjoy a Happy Halloween!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely Inspiration Cards -- I hope you join us for more swaps! The creative process for my cards is pretty dynamic. Sometimes I have a quote in mind and design the card around it. When using gelli prints I usually let the "print speak to me" and go from there. Both of your cards are wonderfully artistic but the blue and green Buddha card will be especially cherished. Beautiful prints and quotes -- thank you for participating! <3<3<3
Response: I'm glad you like them! I wasn't sure since they were my first inspiration cards! Thanks!
Comment: Your postcard is beautiful! I'm wondering how you did it ... thank you so much, Christy! :D
Response: Thanks! It's a watercolor postcard blank, bc u need thick paper! I used masking tape around the edges to avoid the ink running over the edge. Apply a thin layer of gesso, and when dry, drop small drops of alcohol inks on, let dry, drops of 90% rubbing alcohol, let dry, and repeat with new color, etc. Voila!
Comment: Christy- I absolutely adore this ATC! It's stunning and is already on my wall of favorites. Lovely job! Welcome to my neck of the woods. We usually just get to see Olympia on our way to the coast but it has some interesting sights.
Comment: an adorable card..very cute...love the colors..great stencils you have ..and those frogs! thank you so much for this atc...the little envelopes are great and right up my alley...I love making and getting handmade envelopes...thanks for everything
Response: So glad you liked it. I thought the frogs were perfect for the water ripples stencil. :)
Comment: What a difference the scene on the 'Riverwalk' pc is from what I'm seeing day to day! ;oP You too, I'm sure.
I would enjoy sitting at one of those little tables, eating something yummy and people watching. ;o) A lot of the cities here have a Riverwalk celebration each summer, but I've never been to any of them, as I don't like crowds. Thanks for the great card!
Comment: Yes, I enjoyed getting the Florida - Key West, FL postcard from you! Thank you for sending me a Florida PC, a view I've not seen of this lighthouse in southern FL. It may be Feb & very cold in your state, Central FL the spring tree pollen season has started!
Comment: I love the burlesque girl! Great choice. I hear ya on the out of shape thing. I'm at an age now where all my friends are falling apart too. But I don't feel any older than 25, how is this possible? LOL
Comment: Thanks for such a beautiful 'sunset on the Great Lakes' filled Michigan pc! :o)
The only one I've seen is Lake Superior, and that's because MN has a decent amount of shoreline on the west & nw sides. It's a gorgeous lake. I hope you get to see them all one of these days!
Comment: I enjoyed your personal note you included. (its a small world isnt it?) The snowman card is so cute. Lots of pictures I can reuse later. Thank-you so very much. Happy Holidays and who knows maybe we may run into each other in Lititz (i shop their boutiques all the time) Merry Christmas!
Comment: Hello Christy! Wow, the "G" postcard you sent to me for the swap - an iconic view of the Grand Tetons of Wyoming with Buffalo's! Special vintage view postcard I will put up on display in my apt. Thank you!
Comment: I love the vintage ad cards, and this one is great! Also, I don't have it blank in my personal Zazzle collection, so getting it in the mail really makes me happy. :oP
In answer to your question, we had a snowstorm last week, and got 10" of snow. I don't have weight in the back of my truck yet, so it's rough driving until I do. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! :o)
Response: Wow! Thanks for the update and I'm so glad you like the PC. I thought it was really cool and thought you'd like it as another cat lover! :)
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful PC! I've been collecting pine cones from the trees in our (and our neighbors' - shhh! ;) ) yards, but I think these are the last few days I can do it. We're supposed to get snow this weekend. Boo!
Comment: Thanks a lot for your great card! Halloween is still a relatively new festival here in Germany, it's been celebrated for about 20 years now so wasn't around when I was a kid. I love it, though, and decorate the house and my son loves to go trick-or-treating :)
Comment: I love it! Great artwork and the stickers and card are awesome as well, thank you, I really love the lil Halloween characters you drew on the envie, they are "cute scary", I enjoyed all the art. :)
Comment: Thanks for the cute card! In The Netherlands halloween isn't really celebrated. But the last few years more and more halloween parties are thrown where people wear costumes and they dance and drink. Also more stores sell decorations etc. Rining doorbells and asking for candy is done at a different holiday, sint maarten. Which is celebrated november 1st in a few parts of The Netherlands. That's when kids decorate a paper lantern and hang it on a plastick stick with a tiny lightbulb in the lantern. Then they ring peoples doorbells and sing cute songs. Used to love it when I was a kid! :)
Response: Thank you for letting me know about Halloween in The Netherlands and Sint Maarten. Really cool! I love hearing about traditions in other places!
Comment: Thanks for the neat postcard. Graphically it is very cool (and the cubs are adorable). Thanks for the nice note too. I do try to make my artworks personal. I have so little time to create that I try to make it meaningful -- sometimes I am more successful than other times :) Thanks for being such a great partner! <3<3<3
Comment: What a sweet PC of two cows. I too have always liked cows -- they do seem very peaceful and serene. Like you I don't collect cow things but have ended up with a couple through the years. Thanks again for the sweet PC ~~
Comment: Thank you for the purty cat. :) All my cats have been rescued males (and mostly grey tigers). I hear that orange tabbys have very sweet dispositions (I know boy cats are usually love-bugs). Thanks for sharing your boys with me (love their names)! <3
Comment: What beautiful lighthouses! Although I don't collect lighthouse PCs, I always like getting them and find them so interesting. . . I don't think I ever realized how many lighthouses we have in the US! Thanks again for the beautiful PCs and have a great week ~~
Comment: Wow, what a gorgeous envelope (love the Pixar stamps, never seen them before!) full of pretty cards! I am utterly delighted with these and all the effort you put on the swap, thank you so much!
Comment: Christy - Love your prints. You use the coolest papers. Where are you getting them from? I love your color palettes too. Thanks for swapping with me.
Response: Glad you like the prints! I use book pages, magazine pages, junk mail, deli paper to print on, in addition to cardstock. Sometimes just glimpses of a pic or text under the print is cool and gives it depth and texture.
Comment: Hi Christy!! Thank you for the most excellent postcards!!!! I loooooove them! Every single one is new to me!!! I just got back from NJ last night! I miss it!! Very happy you joined the swap!!! : )
Comment: Hi Prismcat! I got your postcard today. This is such a lovely card. I love the way you put together the washi and the die cut and everything. It's very pretty. THank you and I'm glad we worked out the snaffoo! ;-)
Comment: LOVE the postcard!! Thanks so much. I also enjoyed your little note. It was cool to learn more about you. Like you, I wouldn't be able to eat bison meat either, even though I have heard it is much healthier for your than most meat...they are too darn cute to do that! I'm curious to know where in NJ you live. Maybe, if you wouldn't mind, you could send me a quick PM, when you have a second and let me know where? I used to live less than 5 mins from the NJ border. Thanks again, Christy. It was great having you for a swap partner, and look forward to (hopefully) more swaps together in the future. Have a great day, and Happy Swapping! :)
Response: Hi Carol, I pm'ed you. Thanks for the rating and comments!
Comment: Beautiful PC. . . I love Monet's work and this piece is so pretty with the field in front of the houses. Thank you too for your thoughtfulness and words of comfort - it is greatly appreciated. Have a wonderful week ~~
Comment: Oh my you have made my day!!! Not only did you send me an amazing Christmas card that is beautiful!! My favorite color! You send me a ton of postcards.....which I LOVE!!!!! All art postcards too......my most favorite kind of all!!! YOU ROCK!!! Hugs, Dawn Gallop stampmom9
Comment: What a beautiful winter scene, and a lovely historic setting. Also love the sheep stamp, she looks very optimistic about Spring! Hope you get at least a day off from the admin gig for the holiday ... I could use a whole week, but it's orientation time for new doctors, so I'm pretty vital to the operation! >8-)
Comment: Thanks for all the cards, Christy! You would get a handful of hearts if I could.
I didn't have either of the lighthouse cards you sent, and I just love the Wales & Ireland map-type cards-they're all great really! thanks again, Carol
Comment: OMG! I LOVE these ATC's! They are so creative and clever and I adore them! I have that same raven with fence stamp and never have used it as wonderfully as you did! Just perfect, clean, neat and a joy to look at! Thank you! Some of the nicest I have received, Sher.
Comment: thank you for the great swap! i love that the decos are all full of different people, none of my regular swappers! thank you for the extra cards as well. would love to do another deco swap on our own if you want :)
Response: Thanks sylverhawk! I'd love to swap with you privately, but give me a little time. I'm in a couple of deco swaps now, so I need to make sure I have those ready first!
Comment: Thank you truly for your thoughtfulness in even sending this swap out... You didn't have to send it w/ all that you and your family are facing right now. My thoughts are with you. Thanks again, Julia
Comment: Wow, what an awesome swap! It was early, and I not only got one, but TWO books, and I've already started reading "House"! Thank you so much for the great reads, and for being so generous!! hugs, teresa
Response: Ooh, Bentley Little is a really scarey author - hope you enjoy both books!
Comment: Christy, I love the Punch Art ATC you sent me; and . . . The extra blanks! I love the vintage look. I tried to make a punched wreath just this afternoon, but I have the wrong punch. Who makes the one you used? Thanks again, and Happy Holidays!
Response: Thanks for the compliments. The punch I used for the wreath is made by Punch Bunch.
Comment: Thank you for the very fun little package! Your ATC is really nice! I really need to make some punchies out of some text pages - yours are very cool! The whole ATC came together beautifully! Love the colors! Thanks for the memo sheets too - they are so cute and I really appreciate them - that was so thoughtful of you!
