Comment: I"m sure I'd have loved your postcard and the message, but the USPS wrote all over the message and got some sort of ink on the picture! This is why I don't do post cards. :( :"( Luckily I could read 'library lovers" and Colleen - that was about it! :(
Response: I'm sorry to hear the postcard got all messed up in the mail! I hate that! Thank you for rating and the heart!
Comment: Howdy Collen,
The slayer's scythe that brings me back! That and Iron Man's suit huh? Maybe you have a thing for red things? haha also thanks for the HP postcard! Victor Krum, he was such a loveable character as so under rated! Emma looked amazing in that movie. Thanks, Mels
Response: Hmm, I didn't even think of that lol, maybe I like my weapons red? Thanks so much for the heart!
Comment: Awesome postcard of Powell's - I've been to the Portland location several times and just love it. Great that you've listened to so many good audio books. I'll look for these titles at my library.
Response: I've never actually been to a Powell's, I'd love to check one out sometime though! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: ILOVE THESE SLED DOG PUPS! Thank you so much for sharing the postcard and your food faves! Like you, I also enjoy pasta “carbs”! 😋 Tonight’s dinner is spaghetti bolognase with homemade garlic toast! 😁
Comment: Thank you for the thought of warm Palm Springs with sun and palm trees.🌴🌞 If we happen to get snow, then it rains the next day and we have wet slush that freezes at night. I’m still waiting for a good winter snow...
Comment: Thanks for sharing this awesome Harry Potter PC with me! I’m also from the House of Hufflepuff! I see your combo is with the Ravenclaws, that’s cool! I like smart people! I took that hybrid test and ended up a Gryffinpuff!
Comment: The card you sent was so cute. Growing up we had white toy poodle/terrier mix. Love the Muppets also. All the paw print stuff id be in heaven. I use to cross stitch but now i just crochet. Sounds like you had good Christmas. We also things for our furbabies
Comment: Whoa, that's a lot of books! Thanks a bunch for your email and the stats were awesome too, by the way, a lovely addition to an already great email! I hope you have a wonderful reading year, happy 2020!
Comment: Well, it's a good start, right? :) Those book deals of the day are from the devil, I swear. haha! I'm caught with those as well. But what I started doing was to download the sample - then if I actually open it up and start reading it and LIKE it, then I decide about buying it. It's those extra steps that keep me from buying those $1.00 deals. Now I have to work on the FREE ones! haha!
Comment: Sorry to hear that book was such a dud. :( I hate it when that happens - that I love the first book in the series and the 2nd is a disappointment. If there's a 3rd book, do you think you'll read it? Hope the next book is better.
Thanks for sending. :)
Response: I will most likely read a third book is there is one, I just feel the need to finish lol. Thanks so much for the heart!
Comment: I agree that rating non-fiction can be tough - sometimes it seems wrong giving some subject matter a 5 star rating, yet if it's well written and researched, it deserves a 5, right? Right now we are listening to "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" and it's an amazing story, and really well written and narrated, but the subject is just so sad and upsetting. It will be hard to rate, for sure!
Thanks for the update! :)
Comment: Thanks for the cute card. :) I always feel like I'm out of sync with events at the library - when I didnt' have kids, there were so many events for kids, when my kids were little, everything seemed to be for older kids, and now that my kids are teenagers, everything seems to be for little kids! Oh well. :)
Comment: Thanks for the interesting review. It sounds intriguing but I think I'd be too traumatised to read it. Have you heard of Dr Len? It's said he had great results with this group of people using ho'oponopono.
Comment: Wow, you read a lot! Great job. :) I usually read more scary stories in October, too. This year I tended to re-read old classics (we are still listening to Dracula by Stoker) and classic horror short stories. It was a different feeling.
I've read a few of the ones you did, too. Did you have a favorite?
Comment: Hello Colleen!! Thanks so much for the lovely swap cards you made for me!! They’re a nice size so I won’t have to worry about my giant handwriting not fitting on the card!! I really love them, thanks again!!
Response: I'm so glad you love them!! Thanks so much for the heart!
Comment: Thank you so much for the vintage book PC! I've never heard of J.G. Ballard before, but I have added him to my TBR list! And cooler weather is definitely my favorite thing about autumn as well. It just makes the air seem magical to me. <3
Response: I'm so glad you like the postcard! Thanks so much for the heart!
Comment: Thank you, Colleen, for a fun 6-week swap! I really enjoyed your letters and lists. Thanks, also, for the great pen! That's one of my favorite brands; I really love the thicker point. Hope you enjoyed writing and that we'll get to swap together again soon!
Response: Thanks for the heart! I’m so glad you like the pen!
Comment: Thanks for the 'hello'.
The nights are cool, which I like. My poor wife doesn't like the 40 or more degree temperature swings though. Friday reached 98, Friday night it got down to 56, and Saturday it was just over 100 degrees.
Response: Thanks for the heart! I hope it cools off for you during the day!
Comment: I received my pc today but unfortunately the words for the truths & lie were faded out or smeared out so I was unable to see them. If you want to message me the 2 truths & a lie, you can do that. Thanks!
Comment: I really enjoyed reading your list. I found a few books on there that I've also read. I recently read Uglies back, I believe, in March. I, honestly, was not overly impressed with it. Enough that I really have no plans or desire to read the rest of the series. I thought the premise was good and, starting out, it was a good book. But, somewhere in the middle it just sort of fell flat for me. I was actually kind of disappointed because it had the makings of a really good book.
Response: Thanks for the heart! I agree it had the makings of a good book, but fell flat.
Comment: I didn't have a great month, overall. Almost nothing from my TBR list. But I did discard some books and didn't add any new, so I guess it's a 'wash'. Hopefully July will be better for us! :) Good luck!
Response: Thanks for the heart! And yes hopefully July will be better
Comment: So glad to see that you did end up making some progress considering everything. It may not feel like a lot but everything has to start somewhere! I hope that you start feeling better so you can tackle more of what you planned :)
Comment: Oh my goodness, you read so many books! Teach me your fast reading skills please! I actually added a few of your books to my TBR, I can't wait to read them! The others I'm just about to start :) Thank you so much for your thoughts and your list! I hope you have a wonderful June!
Response: Thanks for the heart! I read some of these on audio! Others I just spent 3+ hours a day/night reading! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
Comment: Thank you for sharing your account of listening to Wicked Saints. I may well add it to my own list! I found your comments about multiple narrators interesting. I've only occasionally listened to books with more than one narrator and I think I might actively seek some out.
Response: Thank you for the heart! I'm glad you found my review useful!
Comment: Thanks for the labels. I read the instructions that there needed to be a variety of designs on each sheet, but I may have misinterpreted - so I am not rating down for that. I especially like the butterflies.
Response: Thanks for rating, I read it as that each sheet should have different designs as did the person who sent to me. I think it was a bit vague and a bit confusing.
Comment: Hi Jedi! Cass is sitting right here with me and wants me to tell you that you are absolutely adorable. She also says that you sound like a pretty cool cat, even for a dog ;) Like you, Cass was abandoned by her previous owners. However, it seems like you both found mommies who love you dearly. Thanks for the lovely card <3
Response: Thank both of you for the heart! Rescue pets are the best!
Comment: Great choices! I'll be interested to see what you think of "Truly Devious"! People who liked the book say you HAVE TO have the next book to continue when you're done!
Congratulations on finishing all 3 of your books! :)
Response: Yes I've heard that too! Good thing Scribd has both haha
Comment: The book you chose sounds intriguing. I like that it had two narrators, as well. I have only listened to audio books with one narrator, but I think multiple (at least two) narrators would have served better for some of these books.
Response: Thanks for the heart. Yes multiple narrators can help an audiobook immensely!
Comment: I'm not familiar with the Ms. Marvel series and after reading your review, it doesn't sound like something I would like. However, "A Curious Beginning" sounds really good. I am currently trying not to add any more books to my already too large TBR list, but I will definitely keep it in mind for the future.
Response: Yes! The whole Veronica Speedwell series is amazing! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: I can relate to your detour situation. I just finished reading a book that's been on my TBR list for a while but I didn't know there was a second book. Now I'm reading the second book even though it was not on my TBR list. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! 😁🌺
Response: Glad to hear I'm not the only one ;) Thanks for the heart!
Comment: This is such a cute PC! I am saving it for my journal. Thank you for sending it safely in an envelope. I have an Amazon wishlist of PCs. I really don't need any because I have a shoebox full of blank PCs but I just love to window shop PCs lol!
Response: I'm glad you like it! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: thanks Colleen so much for the pc (it does look like a map) but it is still gorgeous in itself. thanks so so much and yes i have a stack of cards i have bought just for swapping . i know its become much more because i hope and pray that there will be pcs when i go on a field trip or to a tourist place.
Response: Thanks for the heart! I'm glad you like the postcard!
Comment: I"ve had a bit of a detour with my list as well - more ARC's! I've clearly got a problem. :) But that's not BAD, right? I mean, they're even free! (This is what I tell myself when I look at my shelves!) :)
Response: Yes! I do that too, if it's free what the problem! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thanks for sharing your list. Interestingly, several of us seem to have slowed down on our reading this month -- the initial excitement of getting through those looming piles having perhaps worn off a bit. But onwards and upwards for April!
Response: For me it was my health, but yeah the new year drive to finish off books seems to have worn off a bit!
Comment: I like the cover art! And thanks for your honest feedback on the book-I always feel an author succeeded if someone dislikes a character, so yay! (Well, except if you are supposed to like the character then that's an uh-oh)
Response: Thanks for the heart! I try to never sugar coat my feedback too much on books lol I want people to get an honest review, so they know whether or not the book is worth reading,
Comment: OH no, you found more! I hate it when that happens. I had forgotten that I'd ordered several paperbacks from a book trading site when I first made up my list, then started getting books in the mail. :( Sigh. Good luck with your list. :) And I hope you are feeling better soon. :) :)
Response: Thank you for the well wishes and thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you so much for all the wonderful planner stickers...will use them all but I do love the weather stickers, have never seen any like those & that is something I record in my planner every day.
Response: Thank you for the heart! I'm surprised it go there so fast, and I'm glad you liked it!
Comment: Hi Colleen, I get called that all the time, but I was named after my dad, Cole. Thanks for all the lovely things. So happy to have the address labels and I'll take your pretty swap cards and copy them off to make more. I'm blessed. Thanks for reading my profile.
Response: You're very welcome! And I'm so glad you liked everything! Thanks for the heart, too.
