Comment: Creativity overload! Thank you soooooooo, much for all the ATC's. I am delightfully inspired to the brim right now. Even my mom and husband love them. And the sushi one made my mom and me squeal. Sincerely - ^_^
Comment: Hey these are great! Thank you for all the ATCs! There's a lot of really good ones in here. I love the "book sprite" ... this one that's teal with a face and gems on it... the flowers that say "I'm alive", the neon cartoon lightning bug, the squirrel, the yellow/purple spiral, the one with the orange strips and buttons... very cool collection!
Comment: Super pretty card, thank you for telling me how you made it. I like the effect of light colors under the snowflake and the darker colors around it. I haven't tried distress inks yet, I think I will try this with water colors.
Comment: Wow - thanks for the three beautiful ATCs. The colors and themes are perfect (and I appreciate the extras). And the postcards were above and beyond -- great selection and variety. You are a fabulous swap partner! <3<3<3
Comment: Beautiful card... Thank you so much... The background is so very nice love the colors and your embellishment was just perfect... Thank you again.. This swap was amazing I am so glad I joined it
Comment: THANK YOU! I love my GIR(s)!!! The hat is just right, and so totally dorky. The BF says it's uber cute and wants one, even. :D Thank you also for the plushie! :) He's adorable. I'll have to hide him from the kids AND THE PUPPY! <3
Comment: LOVED LOVED the page. How did you do it???????
THanks agasin for being so creative.
Response: Most of it I drew with inktense pencils, and instead of water, used acrylic satin finish. the waterfall I made a rainbow, covered it in glossy accents, and poured on clear microbeads. i can't remember for sure, but i may have made glossy accent water drops on the stalactites and stalagmites too. I forget. I'm glad you love it!
Comment: Hey Dreamer, thanks so much for giving me
one of your personal faves, it is awesome, I love snowflakes! Got it sitting on my shelf on my desk to show it off. Big Hugs to you and hope all is well for you:)
Response: I'm so glad you love it! I was delighted to get to send to you again :) thank you for the big hugs. I can really use them these days.
Comment: Oh my gosh!! This jewelry set is absolutely stunning! I almost wish I was going to work tomorrow so I could show them off, but it will have to wait for Monday. Thank you so much for making these for me, they're definitely more than I was hoping for and super perfect!!
Response: Oh, yay! I was so worried the beads would be wrong, or the length, or I had misunderstood what you needed! I'm delighted you love them!
What's your media? DId you overcoat?
Response: if I remember right, I sent you an owl one, right? if so, the owl is over-coated with crackle paint in rock candy. the owl and the background are both inked papers I made (i think), by using reinkers and... erm.. love potion 9? maybe? I think... if i'm remembering the wrong atc, let me know which one it is, and i'll tell you for that one...
Comment: Stephanie ~ I love the ATC! Thanks so much. How did you do the special effect over the top? PM me if you are willing to share the secret. DeAnna
PS Your business card rocks!
Response: I believe that was ultra thick embossing powder (glassy look, right?) I used clear ink, then embossing powder several layers, heating each layer, until it got that thick. oh... pm...lol. I don't mind sharing, so I missed that part...ll.
Comment: I can't possibly answer all those questions - just way too many for me to concentrate on. I can however send you a letter written on 95 sheets of PINK toilet paper - I have one roll left and don't know what else to use it for. Will be mailed on the second Tuesday of next week if it snows.
Comment: WOW! WOWZA! You are fabulous at crochet! This Hello Kitty hat you made for me is incredible! I just love it and will have it for many happy wearing years. Thanks so much for doing this swap with me. I really scored!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful swap items! They got here so fast! Thank you for the beautiful handmade slippers! And I was SUPER exsited to get the tim holtz achohol inks! i've been wanting to try them for so long but haven't bought any... I cant wait to use them! Also thank you for the super soft toe socks! everything was great! :)
Comment: It's soooooooo beautiful!!!! I love it! I love the texture, how smooth it is, yet still bumpy - what did you use on the top to make it like that? Thank you so much, oh, and the notecard you sent it in is also gorgeous, and in the spirit of recycling and sharing the love I have plans to cut up the envelope and make it into an ATC!
Comment: Hi Thank you for the lovely seahorse and crab atc. I think the background is beautiful. Also I appreciate that you sent it in such a pretty note card... ( if you made it sign it.. hallmar* has nothing on you!) it will go on my board of beautiful cards. And I hope you too are having a great day!
Comment: One of the BEST ATC's I have received! Did you stamp while the clear resin was still wet? (What is the clear stuff on the card?) I want to copy this technique. And a home made card on top of it. Love the white butterflies with the color in the background. Reverse of what you would normally see. Thanks for trading!
Response: I'm very glad you love it! the clear is 2 coats of utee, with clear pigment in between, then stamped into with pigment ink while still melted. I got the idea from berni berlins atc book, but she dry brushed 2 layers of acrylic, then embossed and stamped. I like the look of layers of stamping better. more dimensional, along with the texture :)
Comment: Hi Stephanie! Your ATC is just outstanding!....soooo lovely! Thank you so very much for taking the time to refer to my profile. This is very special! (the card is way awesome too...just gorgeous!)
Comment: Thank you for the Beautiful ATC. I love roses. I wish I knew how you made it. Very pretty.
Response: If I remember correctly, I colored the background with reinkers. once dry, I stamped the original layer. then I used clear embossing ink to do 2 layers of UTEE. while the second layer was melted, I stamped into it with a stamp inked with pigment ink. I'm very glad you love it!
Comment: Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for the great colorful ATC! Thanks for looking at my profile. I love the texture of the card and also love the note card. This is my first Mega swap and I am enjoying it alot. Meeting some new people I have never swapped with. Have a great day!
Comment: What a beautiful ATC! Looks like a place I would love to live someday. Incredible ephemeral colors and cool texture -- they give it amazing depth and atmosphere. Absolutely lovely! Thanks for the gorgeous peacock hand-made card! <3<3<3
Comment: I love it! How was it made, what is it made of? I am very happy that you sent this to me...thank you!!
Response: it was the dragonflies, right? (i really need to keep better track if I keep joining so many senders choice atc swaps...lol). let's see... that one i took glossy card stock, and sprayed it with perfect medium. i dripped dye re-inkers all over it (when i learned of this technique, they used memento, but I don't have that brand. all i had was ancient page and distress, which may have effected the drying time a bit). i sprayed the drops with the perfect medium again, then i sprayed more glossy with perfect medium and smooshed it between it (you can do that a couple times to lighten the colors, and lessen the inks a bit. it's a good idea, because you can't do much with the heat gun. it separates the layers of glossy, and bubbles. you can move it around a bit with the heat gun, but you can't do it very long). let it dry (takes a few days). then i believe i used golden brand acrylic paint from the tube (silver) on the dragonfly stamps, and stamped them on... mind you, I actually made that one for my own collection a couple months ago..it just suited you so well, i had to give it up :) I didn't take a picture, and I'm basically going on memory, but I'm pretty sure that was how I made it... I'm so glad you love it!
Comment: Thank you the sunshine was lovely! How did you make it?
Response: I used 'crayon encaustic' on that. I took glossy cardstock, and traced a circle. then i used an iron on crayons, and smoothed it in a circle shape (which is really easy too goof...lol). then i started near the sun and dragged the tip of the iron full of wax away from the circle, in multiple places. I made a few of these encaustic suns. I'm not sure if yours was on one that I had precolored the glossy, or if i dabbed the background colors on after, but either way turns out nice :). then I sprayed it with a glossy sealer.
Comment: Hi Stephanie, thank you for the huge envelope full of paper!! Love the pages you made, and the old magazine ads - so funny and fascinating. I appreciate everything you included and am excited to use it. Thanks :)
Comment: Stephanie I love BOTH my sunshines. Thank you! The nice long note was fun to read too.. so often its just an atc and if I am lucky..a scribbled "hope you like it". ( i am guilty of sending those too.) your note made me realize how much nice the atc swaps are when more time is put into the note. I have gotten stuff to work with wax but havent gotten around to it yet. Very inspiring of you.
My family agrees... "serenity" is the best. Oh i wanted to ask you about the card you sent... i think you used an embossing folder but what did you use for the metal? is it a patchwork of foil or something you applied after? and is that alcohol ink?> Thanks for sharing your time and talent with me. Its greatly appreciated. Warmly Betsy
Response: I'm glad you liked it! I don't usually send much of a note with my atcs... not required, you know... but I was on a role crafting, and decided to include those. the metal is foil tape from a hardware store. i just tore off pieces, and layered them accrossed appropriately sized cardstock. then i rubbed the excess sticky off the edges (it tends to peel a bit and end up on top, instead of the bottom...and would likely stick to the embossing folder ) then I embossed, and colored with alcohol inks.
Comment: An amazing and beautiful card. Thank you! I also loved the cover on your note--how did you do that?
Response: I cut cardstock to the size of a cardfront, then covered it in ripped pieces of foil tape (from a hardware store). then I put it through my cuttlebug with the embossing folder. after that, i used alcohol inks to make the colors, and layered it onto the card. :) it was very fun! the only 2 issues are, it makes the card quite rigid (no big deal), and the foil tape tends to need the sticky rubbed off .. it sometimes gets onto the top of the tape, and would make it stick in the embossing folder otherwise. I'm so glad you loved it!
Comment: Don't know if I like the card you sent it in or the beautiful Sun ATC inside, they were both beautiful... and a note too! I didn't send notes with my mega swap :-( you outdid yourself! And I am so glad you did!
Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I had so much fun with this swap... then I saw someone somewhere reccomend that type of embossed card, and thought it would really suit the swap. I didn't end up having the sunshine looking embossing folder, like I had thought, but they still turned out nice, i thought... and when it turned out nice, it needed nice inside too :).
Comment: Thanks Stephanie for the lovely ATC. I really like the Asian theme!
Two questions.......where do you get the plastic sleeves? Is that required when swapping ATC's?
Response: i get my plastic sleeves at walmart. they are with the magic cards, pokemon cards, and yu gi oh cards (trading and game crads). usually they are in either a checkout aisle, or in front of the check outs in every walmart i've been to. they're usually called 'deck protectors.' they also have the 9 pocket pages for storing on a 3 ring binder. they arent necessary for trading atcs, but they are a good idea. they protect the atc, and can even provide a way to tape the atc in place when shipping more than one (so they don't slide into a pile, and jam the postal machines).
Comment: THREE pairs of earrings!?!? Thank you so much, these are so sparkly and colorful. I love them. You are always such a generous swapper sending me extra crappage above and beyond. Plus crapkins! OK, for 2011 we are going to have to make something with our crapkins to swap. Looking forward to being all glam in my new earrings! Love the summer color ones too!
Comment: I love these ornaments. All three are great so I can understand why it would have been hard to pick. I'm ever so slightly partial to the "Merry Christmas" one simply because I love rhinestones but the hand painted Christmas trees are both adorable. And the card *IS* cute. Thanks!
Comment: You keep saying things like, I know everyone won't like my art...as if art was what you actually sent me. You keep acting like some innocent victim, and trying to make me look like I did something wrong, and you've created quite a mess in all my other swaps. You wouldn't believe the kinds of e-mails I'm getting thanks to you, but I'm sure that just makes you ecstatic doesn't it? You won. You treated me like I deserved to get your garbage in my mailbox, and yet it's me who is taking the blame for all this. Even after I gave you a 5, when you know you don't deserve it. That's fine. You can say whatever makes you feel better, but I know what really happened, and that's all that matters.
Response: nevermind. some people don't like hand-painted art geared to their profile. your profile says, and i quote, 'I love San-x, and anything "engrish", ' it is not my fault you were not specific. and don't call me darling. i'm not you darling. and i never stomped on you, nor did i ask anyone to comment. and i didn't lie. i said the link was pote hamu. i figured it was a character you didn't recognize, so i was showing you who i was attempting to depict. it is not my fault you misread it. i realize not everyone will like my work. that is fine. as far as the envelope, many people don't want them decorated. thats how mail ends up stolen. read the back threads on the forums, and you'll see that. and my friends who comment on my profile are my business. they arent talking to you.
Comment: Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow the stinky ATC is so so so so so awesome!!! You are so totally clever, I have never seen anything like this before! It is so absolutely beautiful. OOOh and shiny resin! The techniques you used are so unique, polymer clay that shimmers in the sunlight and my beloved sea turtle!! Stephanie I just love this to bits, and I want to frame it and put it on my wall. This will be so lovely by my bathtub, my bedroom is decorated in blue and green. This is me squealing with delight.
OK, quadruple WOW that you sent me an ENORMOUS PILE of alcohol inks!!!! OMG you are soooo generous! Goodness sakes I could hardly believe my eyes when I opened the package. You are so good to me, thank you a million for the awesome swap. This piece of art is truly in the hall of fame. Ok, I will try to stop squealing now. *sqeeeee*
Response: I'm so glad you love it!!! not quite sure that was an enormous pile exactly (i just happened to have a couple duplicates), but I'm glad it made you happy!
I'm so glad the atc matches your decor! lol! perfect!
Comment: Thanks for the comment! That's so funny that your family loves the same things. :D I have myself a turtle and two toads.. Now.. to get my hands on a Panda! lol. If it was possible.. :sigh: haha. I'd also like a sea turtle (think - squirt from finding nemo) but the closest I get is the super duper cute Squirt Plush doll my BF bought me for my birthday. The super big eyes KILL me soooo adorable!
Comment: Oh no! We had the same idea! Or... is this a wedding cake (as in "anniversary")? ;) Have I been married to polymer clay for a year?
Response: i'm not very good with making birthday cakes. i did have a layered one like that once growing up though. i think i should have included some kind of candles. the cute little red things are meant to be strawberries, so it's a strawberry birthday/anniversary cake, i think. i honestly very nearly made the swap for cakes, but decided in the end to try to open the theme a bit...lol. i'm glad you like it!
Comment: I LOVE IT!!! If it was possible to give you multiple hearts I would, it was that great. You read my profile and really went to town on it. The charm bracelet was just beautiful! Just when I almost quit swap-bot you swoop down and pull me back in girl! LOL! Thanks again.
Comment: I wish i could give you more hearts!!! Your parcel arrived in good condition. I'm really surprised by your surprise (the gorgeous polymer clay covered tin!) Your expertise is greatly displayed in your Special ATCs. Very creative, skillful. I love the uniquely polymer made ATCs. You're just so brilliant! Thank you for putting so much effort & time and dedication in this swap. Happy Swapping!
Response: Thank you so much!! I'm glad you love them!
Comment: Thank you so much for this lovely, deeply moving package ! The memorial box is wonderful, it's like those travel-size altars and reliquaries they made in the Middle Ages... I'll cherish it as so. And the necklace is very elegant, I wear it today :o)
Response: I'm so glad you like it! i've been practically on pins and needles waiting for it to arrive!
Comment: Hey Stephie,
I haven't tasted the coffee yet but I didn't even imagine there could be coffee with such original flavours, it seems very interesting and great quality! It was cool to see some pictures too :o) You and your mum are really cute, you look like people I'd enjoy having coffee with every morning. May I join you ?
Response: thank you!of course you may join me/us! when you comin to visit?
Comment: I adore her!! I think she is just too too cute! thanks so much for creating her for me. and I luv the fabrics!! thanks again!
Response: i'm so glad you love her! i love her too, but i was worried you'd think her too small! and, i'm glad you like the extra fabrics i sent...lol. i was confused on 1st reading this.. i thought.. 'we all used that fabric...' silly me!
Comment: Hi Stephanie....it is so nice to be able to put a face to your profile name. Who is the picture of on your avatar? Thanks so much fo rthe wonderful swap! I love your mug and can't wait to try the local grand rapids coffee!!! I'll be putting your pictures on my board in my craft/swap room!!! Hugs, Sena
Response: my avatar pic is me, fixed up. it wasn't a square pic, so it's stretched a bit. i'm glad you enjoyed it. hope you enjoy the coffee! i really like that flavor! if you like it, i think they sell it online too. http://www.schuilcoffee.com/ (good music on that site too... jazzy)
Comment: Hello Stephanie,
Thank you for the Poetry Journal you prepared for me. I like the papers for the outside cover. I really like how you put a pocket on the front of the journal and put my one poem "in the pocket." I will use this journal as I am a journal writer and always am happy to have varied kinds of journals to write in. I look forward to other oppourtunities to swap with you. Until we cross paths again, Happy Spring!
Comment: I LOVE her!! such a cutiepie..WOW!!! thanks so much for the polymer ATC!!! my very first one ( probably the ONLY one too....) How very sweet of you to create it and give it to me! I will treasure it always. thanks again
Response: You're very welcome! I was so lucky to get you as a partner, because I've just started polymer clay atc's recently, and couldn't wait to make more. the title for it was, 'the garden wall.' i'm sorry i forgot to put it on there.... and i'm so glad you love her! she was very hard to send away....lol.
Comment: You did a great job on your first Dotee. She's the first one I've received and will have a special place in my craft room. Thanks for all the love you put into her. She will be very happy in my house. :) Cindy
Response: I'm glad you love her! while not exactly my first, she certainly was my favorite! (i think she was about # 5). I had so much fun beading her! (and i loved the theme i used... i'm planning to make myself a series of celestial ones, but you got the first one of those...)
Comment: Thanks a lot for the package Stephanie!! I LOVE everything you've chose for me! I love how everything is wrapped individually. Did you make that tiny cute heart cushion? That's my favorite! Thanks a lot! =)
Response: So glad you love it! yes, I made that. my first cushiony thing since i was little...
Comment: Hey craft stuff in a package angel! I hope you have someone as thoughtful as you to send your package. I will enjoy playing with this lot soooo much. Thanks a million.. xxx
PS. I can only give you one heart but you deserve lots more.
Response: i'm soooo glad you love it! i wanted to be sure you got lots so you had plenty to choose from, and plenty to keep! have lots of fun!
Comment: oh my god what a fabulous package. It came this morning and it has totally made my day. All of that chocolate! I am a chocoholic and you have made my week. Ive never seen so many hersheys kisses. You deserve 50 stars for this one. The chocolate didnt melt and customs didnt open it either. Thanks.
Response: YAY! i'm soooo happy to hear you love it!! and that it did'nt melt! and that customs didn't mess with it! yay, again!!!
Comment: When I got home from work the package was waiting there for Jeremy - he was so surprised and loved everything! Also, the package arrived on our fourth wedding anniversary... the timing couldn't have been better! Thank you!!!
Comment: Wow. That's the best word for my reaction when I opened the package. I've never seen an altered tin before, and I'm just blown away by how beautiful it is! I totally, completely love it, thank you soooo much!
Response: I'm SOOO glad you like it!!! That's my first sea creature. I'm delighted you love him!
Comment: Hee I get to leave you two happy comments in a row! What a wonderful gift to receive in the mail, thank you! It was a total surprise because I often forget to stop back on to the swap's page and see who is sending. =)
Comment: WooHoo! I'm so jealous that I can't work with polymer clay in my apartment, because I love making little clay creations! I promptly bookmarked both links since I'm so forgetful, thanks so much, now I have no excuse (except obtaining supplies) to make a fabric postcard. =)
Comment: We love Doritos I can not wait to try these will do it this week. Thank you for sending recepies that included Hamburger meat this is a tight month and needed new recepies to make with hamburger. Love how you decorated the cards very very impressive.
Response: Thank you! I love altering things, so i figured those would be cool like that. the way the inks tinted those was a bit of a surprise. not what i expected, but i liked how they turned out! I'm glad you enjoy them!
Comment: Oh My gosh I love this card!!!! The music totally reminds me of Harry Potter! Not only did you get my Ireland trip but it also make me smile because I heard the music first and thought "OH MY GOSH IT'S HARRY POTTER!!" Talk about the BEST of both worlds :)
