Comment: Thanks Farah, it was interesting to hear about what you've been reading! I see that we are already friends on Goodreads so I often see, in passing, what you've been reading. It was good to hear your reviews and how it related to the challenge you were doing.
Comment: Do you work in your PJs at home? I used to remember I liked that when WFH. Not having to get dressed at 5:30 am. Also, not having to get up at 5:30 am. Could get up a whole hour later! Stay safe and healthy!
Comment: Farah 🆃🅷🅰🅽🅺 🆈🅾🆄 for the (¯`*•.¸♥♫ ♫ S░W░E░E░T ♫ ♥¸.•*´¯) ♥♥♥♥ Valentine profile deco! I absolutely ᏝᎧᏉᏋ the "Flutes and Coops"! Nothing like drinking with my chickens! I love Cocktail Gardens! Here is to a Happy Little Hen Party! 🍷🍸
Comment: Thank you so much for your Pinterest board and interesting answers :) I would also like to visit Taiwan sometime. And I also like to walk around in the airports to see if they have some fun shops :)
Comment: I loved reading your email and your thoughts on the books you read! I apologise for the late rating, everyone's emails had gotten lost among my others. I hope 2020 is a great reading year for you!
Comment: Thank you for the book review. I read a book in 2019 that was similar (The Matchmaker's List) but was set in the Canadian Indian culture. I think it's nice that more of these books are being published, especially when it's both "educational" and entertaining!
Comment: Thank you very much for your email! The book you read sounds very interesting! I lived 4 months in India, and yeah, many of my friends there got their wife/husband via matchmaking, and I felt so sad about it! Though they mentioned sometimes it's better, because love will disappear, but via matchmaking at least the couple will respect each other for the whole life. It's interesting.
Comment: I'm not a fan of biographies much either, so kudos for managing to finish the book! I am curious as to which book you had originally planned to read for this swap? Thank you for the interesting quotes and review <3
Response: It's one of those romance novels with a hunky shirtless guy on the cover, which I never touched before because i thought the cover is too old school or corny. Boy was i wrong, it was kinky overload for me. I read 7 chapters and kinda hit the pause button. So here is the title and author of the book for your curiosity [ Master of the Night by Angela Knight ]
Comment: I enjoyed reading your review. I loved the first quote you included from the book about blank spaces in her memory. I feel that way often. I think this would be a hard book for me to get into as well. I don’t like biographies unless they are written like a novel. Thank you for the very thorough review. I feel like I got a good overview of the book.
Response: Hope you had a great time reading the book chosen for you :)
Comment: Oh my gosh, I loved your bookish list so much! I've had so many you've listed on my TBR, so I can't wait to dive into those books and start reading! Thank you so so much for sending such an incredible book list to me! Also, I'm so sorry for rating you so late! I hope you have a marvellous day ^_^
Response: Hope you get around to read them soon :)
Comment: Thank you for participating. It is just great that you are up for an actual CHALLENGE! It's perfectly okay to like some genres, & also to like only PARTS of a book :) Thanks for your review :) Sounds very interesting, maybe someday!
Response: Thanks for the challenging genres i look forward to harder ones so i will push myself to the limit too.
Comment: Thank you Farah for sharing your book list with me. A few of them I am going to check up at the library over the holiday season. i used to read Joanne Fluke all the time and then stopped, so maybe it time to read her's again. Merry Christmas.
Response: I hope you will enjoy them :) I am currently searching for the rest of the Joanne Fluke series too.
Comment: Very good review. I would love to hear about the snowman one too. I have the snowman book on my To be read pile.
Response: Death of a Dapper Snowman is about a girl who came back to her hometown after being away for so long, who accidently found a crime scene and became a suspect. Being a daughter of a retired police officer, she did a little digging here and there and solved the case.
I prefer Joanne Fluke's series better, though. It is also about a non police official doing detective work, but i find the flow and action more exciting. :)
Comment: Thank you for sending your review of "The Grip Of It". The book sounds interesting and I would love to check it out despite the abrupt ending. I also watched The Conjuring and it's pretty intense. One of the few recent horror movies that really got me scared.
Response: I hope you enjoy it, if u get to reading THE GRIP OF IT. Did you watch THE NUN? It is part of THE CONJURING, about the he-nurse.
Comment: Thanks for the review! I'm quite a fan of Gaiman myself! I have seen that he has a predisposition to cast Loki as true & pure evil, whereas he treats Lucifer so much more kindly!!! I have taken up a translation of Iliad for myself (I host these challenges for such kind of crazy ambitious reading - headdesk) ... I'm probably going to send a partially read review :D
Response: Can't wait to see what you read for this challenge.
I have a feeling the next challenge will be the 2 of us again. :)
Comment: Thank you for the log! I always find it funny when I read that people "only read 4 books" during the month and that it isn't a lot, because I typically read only 2 books per month. So you shouldn't feel bad because you didn't read as much as you wanted. There are worse people than you! ;-)
Response: i guess i used to read more than 5 books a month, the record being 13 books in May 2018. but i guess you are right. i shouldn't be too focused on the quantity. thank you ❤️
Comment: I really hate to rate a 1, but it's been 4 months and nothing has arrived. I know you re-sent it, but that hasn't arrived either. I will gladly re-rate when I get it. TODAY is Sept. 18, 2018 and I finally received your swap. Thank you for resending and I look forward to trying the teas you sent me.
Response: i will be sending another resend next monday, and another one in mid November. hopefully one of those two will reach you
Thank you for updating the rating :) my apologies for the long wait. just curious if you received the original snailmail or the resent? hehe.]
Comment: Thank you for reviewing Honeybee, Farah. I'm sorry you found it disappointing in some respects. Reading poetry for me has been a journey of discovering what type I like - Haiku! - and learning that all other types will mostly mystify me. I'm surprisingly sort of okay with that, but I still don't want to read a lot of poetry. Maybe just between two and five books of poems, every other year, will work for me? I read two or three last year, in 2017, so reading one in 2018 may indicate a new trend of reading poetry in even-numbered years? (Previous years in which I read poetry? 1991-ish, 2013, 2015, 2017... all odd. Weird, right?) But thank you for sharing! :-) <3
Response: thank you for rating :) i hope to read more poetry soon too
Comment: Thanks for the review! Honestly, It's the way I feel about most poems I read .. that they are somebody's highly personal thoughts!!! I'd try "Honeybee" & also "Love & misafventure" & "Lullabies" too!
Response: i hope you will enjoy Lang Leav's poems more :)
Comment: Thank you! I had mixed emotions about The Hazel Wood too. I loved the beginning, but I hated the way it went once she got to the woods. And I still don't know why she's Alice Three-Times!
Response: I did a little research and came across this:
The first Alice could refer to her actual story in the Hinterland.
The second Alice could refer to the one she becomes whilst growing up on Earth.
The third Alice is ex-story.
Comment: Such an interesting list! We have a lot in common--I love cloud watching and stargazing too-- but I have never heard of avocado toast or David Choi before. I am going to have to do some research! I love that now i have the chance to learn something new :D
Response: I initially found avocado toast mind boggling, but i gave it a try and now i am hooked. Same goes for grilled cheese (on apples!)
Comment: Farah, thank you for sharing these beautiful lyrics with me! I'm going to check out this song and add it to my playlist on YouTube. I'm always looking for new music to listen to. I appreciate beautiful lyrics like this!
Comment: Thank you for your review of that Honeymoon book, Farah. I'm sorry you found it to be disappointing. One that you MIGHT like better is one I read and very much enjoyed: "What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding" by Kristin Newman. In my review on Goodreads, I describe as being a travel memoir and also a memoir about Kristin's search for love. I laughed a couple of times, so it's written with humor! :-) I hope your next book will be more enjoyable for you! Thank you for sharing. :-) <3
Response: That sounds awesome. its already in my basket. waiting for some kind of promotion before i purchase it. hehehe. thanks for the recommendation :)
Comment: Wow, Farah! You read a LOT of "Green" books in March! I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed most of them especially because most of them are books that I don't think I've ever heard of! I'll have to look up a few of them on Goodreads. :-) Thank you so much for sharing! :-) <3
Response: I get overly excited during challenges, turns out i only had to read 1 book for the challenge. Haha! But it was a great experience and i got to read many different styles of writing. I definitely recommend the Clashing Color saga. 😍
Comment: Thank you for sharing. I recently got a Kindle Fire tablet to replace my old Kindle Touch. I love having all my e-books back so very much. If you get another chance to get one, they're worth it! Sooooo many books with me at all times now!
Response: Thanks for the heart. I will definitely go check if kindle is available in Jakarta. Thanks for the recommendation
Comment: It's interesting to see how similar some of 90s interests were to yours. Especially since I was on the other side of the world in the US. Thanks for participating in this swap..
Anyway thanks for joining this swap and sticking with me thru the delays.
I hope you enjoyed this walk down memory lane as much as I did.
Response: Thank you hosting such an awesome swap. Loved seeing the different memories all of us have.
Comment: I'm so glad your turtle got home safely, yay! I hope you get to visit Singapore soon, I love snacks myself so I would travel to the moon and back to get some of my favorite that have been discontinued :D I downloaded the tamagotchi btw, so many memories!!
Response: I still have no idea where it went for the 3 days, can't interogate him. Sometimes i go on AirFrov and ask travellers to help me buy snacks from the country that they will be coming back from. And the percentage they charge, omg. But its worth it :)) i forgot about my tamagotchi until you mentioned it in the rating. It almost died. Haha!
Comment: I was missing a bit the summary of books nrs. 2-6 The Assassin series. But I am okay with it.
Response: Hi cindy, i've PM you the missing part from the email about the assassin novella series.
The books are some sort of introduction on how the main character met with the other characters. But all of the novellas are about how she met her "first love", how they finally become a pair, and how she lost him to death in the end. But of course, there are other stories of her travel and experience away from him too. :)
Comment: â¤Gorgeous postcard!⤠I loved that you used earthy tones on the left of her for me. So to answer your questions: How do you fill in your coloring pages? I usually outline the shape with the color I want and then use a stippling effect or add strips. Are they crazy colors you use or colors of real life? Just depends on my mood ðŸ˜. Last questions when do you color and does it relieve your stress when you color? I color when I'm relaxed, because I tense up when I color, I'm a little bit of a perfectionist it needs to be perfect .😜
Response: Glad that you love the postcard :) I colour the same way as you when using colour pencils. xixixi.
Comment: Thank you for the great coyote card. I loved it, with the cacti around him. It was funny you mentioning trying to look up "coyote" and got guitar instead, LOL! There has been sightings of coyotes near Toronto Airport.
Response: Happy that you love it :) Wild coyotes sightings? That's awesome! We hardly see any wildlife roaming anywhere in public. xixixi.
Comment: Thanks for the fun card. I loved the raccoon and all the stamps, especially the rabbit stamp! I wasn't familiar with Lang Laev, but I've read some since I got your card, and I am liking what I've seen so far. I'll need to read more to know if I'm into it or not.
Response: I'm glad you like the postcard and the variety of stamps :) There is another by Allie Esiri called "A Poem For Every Night Of The Year". Its different from Lang Laev. Maybe you would like that.
Comment: Thank you for the stamps! Your letter came quick! These are recent character based books i liked recently
Girls in White Dresses
The Secret Life of Violet Grant
Kelly, Martha Hall
Response: I've searched the novels you mentioned above. I believe "character-based" means "based on true story"?. I don't usually read novels with early eras like world war periods. But i did enjoy Hidden Figures the movie. I think i will enjoy reading the books you recommended too. Thanks :)
Comment: Hello Farah Angelina. Your name is very pretty, I'm sure just like you. Thank you for the awesome anatomical heart postcard. No, I wasn't grossed out, I think it is so cool. Thank you for reading my profile.
Wishing you the best always! Brenda
Comment: Thanks. She was a huge child movie star during the depression and less successful as an adult star. She probably is one of the earliest star to have dolls made in her likeness. She later served as a diplomat for the United States.
Comment: Hello Farah :) Oh, your swap was so great! I enjoyed reading your note and thank you for the cute bookmarks, they're sure different from the regular ones. Love your handwriting too! Kind greetings, Aline
Response: Hello Aline :)) you are certainly most welcome, i am glad that you like them.. i just realized that i was your receiver for 3-5-7 swap.. hehehe..
P.S. you are the first to compliment my handwriting..
Comment: Thank you for the stamps. Many of stamps were torned and dirty:(
Response: sorry about that.. must have not noticed that.. would you like a resend for those as well as for #26? i'll choose from the store bought mint yet cancelled lot to make up for the torned and dirty ones..
Comment: EVERY stamps are dirty and attached something like glue to the back
every stamps are torn, I can not save all stamp.

My attitude is what? I dosen't appreciate all your stamps.
Response: my apologies, will resend 50 pieces better quality stamps. this time i will not send sticky USA stamps. sorry.
Comment: Thank you for the card from Indonesia with the interesting stamps and for your half-German message :) I don’t speak Bahasa Indonesia myself but have a look at http://bit.ly/jmindo which shows what someone else from Germany managed to learn in just 6 weeks (watch the video about half-way down the page)!
Response: i apologize for my atrocious german.. i was a borderline pass in German class, almost wasnt allow to go Germany for my internship.. xixixi.. thanks for the tip.. will definitely check out that website, and improve my German :))
Comment: i got the swap today, i am thinking it is the 1st one you sent as it didnt say anything about a resend.. If i get another one i will send you another happy package :) thank you so much this was fun
Response: Hello.. good to know you finally received it.. i havent come around to resending cos i fell ill and have not recovered yet.. so i wont be sending a 2nd one out then.. :))
Comment: Farah! Your envelope arrived today after more than 6 weeks of travel! And it's wonderful! The postage stamps you used are great and look new and I am excited to add them to my collection. And the coins are amazing- wow! So many!!! You were very generous :) I love how you wrote a description for each one. How sweet to send me your own favorite, too. I love them all and am super happy to have them. Thank you!!!! I wish I could give 100 hearts!!!
Response: I'm glad you like them dear :)) and i do apologize for the agonizing wait/delay.. xixixi..
Comment: Thank you for the selection of playing cards. I love the Winnie the Pooh ones and the traditional Indonesian cards. I like the stamps also. They were not cancelled so I can see their full detail.
Response: Pos Indonesia is like that, sometimes they cancel it, sometimes they don't. But I'm glad you like the stamps either ways.
Comment: Hey! I didn't mind the kawaii paper at all, some if it is quite lovely! The bookmarks are GORGEOUS! I've never come across any quite like them before! Really pleased to add them to my collection! And I will check out that Anita Blake series for sure, I love getting a recommendation - who knows maybe you will convert me to romance and paranormal!
Response: Hehe.. i hope u'd like the paranormal romance in Anite Blake series :) and u are most welcomed for the bookmarks.. be careful though, i just torn mine when i tried to pull the book out of my overlycrowded bag.. xizixi..
Comment: What beautiful cards! Thank you so much and oh my goodness! Now I am in love with miniature cards!!! I love that you sent some normal size (with different picture on face of each) and some miniature ones. Thank you. Happy swapping. ♥
Response: You are most welcome :)) i've included the miniature tweety card on the other swap as well..
Comment: Guten Tag Angelina! Many thanks for the stamps and the short letter you enclosed as well! If I remember, I will send you a few German airmail labels this weekend so you have some to add to your collection or to use with your next mailings :)
Comment: Farah, thank you so so much! Such a beautiful envie with amazing stamps! I love everything inside, especially the envelopes and the tofu postcards are amazing! If you'd ever like to do a private swap, please message me!:3 Thank you for joining♥
Response: I'm glad you liked them :)) i was a bit worried that u might have high expectations because u're the coordinator.. xixixi.. phew.. i've just started collecting stamps again, it will be nice to swap with you :)) i'll message u in a bit..
Comment: Thank you for all cat goodies that you sent me! I do like all the different cats you sent on the notecards and postcards. I like the Sanrio kitty the most (=^.^=) Do you have cats?
Response: you are most welcome :)) i still have a realistic cat postcard sent naked on its way to you. do let me know when you receive it. :)) oh, the little kitty cat on the previous envelope is actually a standing post it.. so it kinda sits/stand on the table. like and L shape (the _ being the sticky part and the body is the | that stands/sit straight)
