Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely package! I can't wait to open it. Also, the ornament is adorable and the recipes look fantastic! I'll definitely be trying the cucumber salsa at my next party.
Comment: Beautiful cards - thank you. One note: While it is a great idea to recycle envelopes. I received it torn. It would have been a horrible loss to me if the cards did not arrive. The torn envelope came in a US Post Office envelope apologizing for the damage.
Response: Thank you so much for letting me know. I will be more careful. I am so glad you liked the cards.

Comment: Thank you for the lovely flower card with your hand tatted extra card you sent for me to use! I really enjoyed your note about how spring has sprung in your area and about all the flowers that are blooming and soon to bloom, and about the hummingbirds too. Really was a nice note! :)
Comment: Great items! I can use them all!! Love all the memo sheets & recipe cards. Of course, the cards you made are beautiful!! The little gauze bags will be used for small gifts. Did you make the bookmark? The scrap of material will look great in a patchwork project along with the ribbons. Thanks for your generosity! HUGS!
Comment: Howdy neighbor! Thanks so much for the nice selection of note cards. I have never seen anything that was tatted before so I really enjoyed that note card. You are very talented. All the best to you.

Comment: The envelopes are great especially since they are a size I usually don't make but need sometimes. The tatting is amazing. I would trade you some more of that for something you need anytime you want.
Comment: Thank you for the notecards, Mary! I recognized The Workbasket magazine where you got the pattern from. I love that older magazine. I also love these cooler temps. Fall is my 2nd favorite season. Enjoy watching the leaves change! :)
Comment: Amazing package with 8 items. 2 post cards of birds and your hand crafted one is so creative. Thank you so much for the exquisite needle work tatting on the note card and the hand made bird notecard. My first time to receive recipe cards (3) might have to start collecting. You certainly went all out and I was lucky to be paired with you
Comment: These all look good, but the favorite of my hubby will be the Turkey Burgers since he has declared recently he won't be eating red meat (which I LOVE). I will be trying these out on him next weekend when he comes home! Thanks
Comment: Mary, thank you so much for the thoughtful card. It's beautiful. You are right, no matter what we think we are never prepared for something like this and my sister passed 9 months ago ~ she was only 56. It has been very hard. Thank you! OH and thank you for the recipes ~ yummy!!
Comment: Thank you so much for the happy mandala (well named) and the beautiful extras! Do you know the kind of feathers that you send to me? The only advice I can give about mandalas is: don't think too much. The one you sent is lovely, very kinetic, and wonderful colors. Thank you again. :)
Response: Thank you for such a kind rating and comment. I think the smaller feathers are from doves, and boy, do we have a lot here! I am not sure what the larger feather is. My granddaughter picks them up on her walk from school, and I try to figure out crafts to do with them. She was quite proud that I was sending them to you!
Comment: Hello There!!
I opened up my mailbox today and there was a beautiful happy envelope waiting for me! What a great way to start my afternoon back at work off right! Thank you so much Mary!
Everything is just beautiful! I can see that you took quite a bit of time to put my treasures together and they are so perfect!
I will send you a message to your inbox, because I have a couple of neat-o things to tell you! Thank you so so much for a great introduction to swap bot! Take care!! Shannon
Comment: Thank you for the adorable kitty postcard! Mindfulness is a great practice and one that I'd like to be better at myself. I hope it helps you to be well. :) (P.S. -- "Hardcore Zen" is a book that's helped me a lot with my own practice; if you are OK with a bit of bawdy writing, you might want to check it out!)
Response: I liked the postcard too. Thank you for the book suggestion. I will get my daughter to order it for me!
Comment: beautiful card ! I love the tatting. I want to learn how to do that myself. Can you recommend any books on it? Also thank you for the bookmarker. I am a avid reader and more often then not am reading 2 books at the same time. LOL I have a kindle for night time and a regular book for day time. : )
Comment: I really like the ATC! I know you read my profile :) Thank you for the lovely papers! I haven't seen those before. Thanks also for the stamps! Have a wonderful evening - thanks for making mine special!
Comment: Absolutely love my package! I can use everything!!! Especially love the stamps, I think I will put them on a few pages in my smashbook (my new found craft). Also the material and stick on rhinestones...Love it! Thank you. Happy Swapping!
Comment: Your envie was just AWESOME!!!! The bookmarks were well timed because I had just loved my previous one to dust. Now I have two to alternate :) I adore handmade notes for little love notes to give to my hubby or stick into swaps or send with letters to friends. Thanks for those :) AND THE STAMPS!! Hubby said he knows you were trying to include him the whole time, right ;)
Comment: I love the cards and bookmark you made. It's a really interesting looking craft that I've never seen before so thank you for exposing me to something new. I will definitely put them all to good use. I am starting to feel much better now and you are right all the fun mail I received during that time did make me smile. Thank you!
Comment: Absolutely beautiful bookmarks! How can you even see to do that tiny tatting? I couldn't -- but I'm sure glad you can! And the bookmark with a pocket for notes -- what an awesome concept, one that had never occurred to me before. Then there are the wonderful old-ish stamps; I remember some of them from the 70s. Thank you so much!
Comment: Thanks for the PC. I'm glad you're enjoying your new state too. Cactus are very unusual plants. I would always over water them, hope yours do better. Have a great evening. Hope to swap with you again sometime:)
Comment: Your handmade cards are just gorgeous! I enjoyed reading your note too. Love your city; we would drive through there, and usually would spend a night on our trips to visit our son & family in Arizona...when we lived in Texas. Loved visiting the market downtown. We've heard about the beauty of the desert in blooom, but have never seen it. Love your decorated envie too...thanks so much for this fun swap!
Comment: Mary, you certainly went way beyond the swap requirements! I LOVE everything. Your tatting work is absolutely gorgeous! The cards are too beautiful to use. The little gift cards are just right to enclose with 'thinking of you' gifts I often give friends when they are feeling 'down.' The post cards are just right...since joining SB, I find myself using more PCs than ever! Have you thought about selling your tatting work? You certainly are talented!! HUGS!
Response: I'm so happy you liked everything I sent. It's fun to gather things that might fit your needs. You know, I have thought about selling my tatting stuff. I just haven't figured out how to do it, so I share with my friends!
Comment: Thank-you for the recipe..it sounds delicious and I can't wait to try it. Also, a big thank-you for the beautiful handmade notecards...they are gorgeous and a wonderful addition to my collection!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely assortment of notecards, it seems like you paid attention to what I like :) I also enjoyed your homemade envelope!
Response: I have had so much fun making these envelopes. I got a calendar at Christmas which I did not need, but there were such pretty pictures I just couldn't throw it away. It sat next to my desk, and one day I needed an envelope, had none the right size and inspiration hit!
Comment: I really love the cookbooks you sent me!!! They have such good recipes. I really prefer this type over the new flashy books, because they are food people actually like to eat. And it is always interesting to read the advertisements in them! Thanks so much for some really lovely books!
Comment: Awesome books -- you really hit the nail on the head for me. I haven't read that Nero Wolf, I love Wodehouse, but don't have that book. I'm looking forward to the juvenile one -- I bet it takes me back to my (much) earlier days. And as for the Maud Silver book -- I read her long ago at the library, but it's been years since I even thought of her. Now I can rediscover an old friend!
What a delightful package!
Comment: Lovely note cards! Awesome even. Thank you so much. And the tatted snowflake! My grandmother used to tat, I didn't have the patience as teenager, I wish I had asked her to teach me when I got older. I do crochet doilies, but no tatting. :o( Thank you so much!
Comment: Dear Mary, thank you so much for the cat treats and the fancy toys! The tatted ornament is amazing - you are very skilled. :) Thank you for a great swap! Karen ---- http://www.flickr.com/photos/flufftail/4420261099/
Comment: Thank you for the pretty postcard. It looks like you may have attached a recipe on it - but it was gone when your card arrived. I'm so sorry this rating is so late! ^^^^^Hi Mary! I received your recipe and it sounds wonderful! Thank you for that one and the others - they all souund soooo good - I am going to have to each one! Hugs Sherry
Response: I did attach a recipe. I didn't think that it might not survive the trip. I will get a copy in the mail to you.
Comment: The notecards were simply beautiful and made my day! I love the personal touch of the tattes. This was my first swap package, and it couldn't have been more perfect! (My roommate and I both think that the collage notecard is wonderful, too. :) ) Thank you *so* much!
Comment: I love your snowflakes! You do really nice work! I wish I knew how to do tatting but it looks really difficult!! How long does it take you to make something like the snowflake you sent? I really love them - thank you so much!!!! :)
Response: I really love tatting! It is very soothing and gives me something to do to keep my hands busy. A snowflake takes about 45 minutes, but rewards me more than that! Thanks for your kind comments.
Comment: Nice to hear from you again! Fall is my favorite time of the year too - but i also enjoy it when Spring comes, so I guess I am fickle too! Thanks for the Anna Julia Cooper stamps - I enjoyed reading about her on the back of them

Comment: I adore the book mark Mary, I don't know how to tat but I admire the craft so much. I was so thrilled to get this. I am also thankful that you sent the orginal envelope, I am taking that with me to the post in the morning and having a talk with the driver. There is no difference between the two envelops, the one delivered and the one they sent back. I will have the proof I need. I can't thank you enough for sending this back to me, it was so worth waiting for. Many Blessings
Comment: Thanks for book and the beautiful bookmark. I've read a lot of Debbie Macomber, but not this one, so I'm looking forward to it. Purple is my favorite color and so the bookmark will become a new favorite, I'm sure.
Comment: The ATCs are beautiful, I've always wanted to learn how to tat but had no one to show me how. Do you do tutorials?
The cookbook made me laugh, I have seen some of the recipes, but a few were new (or interesting old versions). Thanks for the surprises!
Response: I am glad you like what I sent. I wish I could affer a tutorial,,,but I have only been able to teach in person. There are books out, but everyone I have talked to has trouble following them. Maybe you could find someone where you live that would help.
Comment: Aww, it's too bad you were having so much trouble with your email...I did have fun reading your answers though, and late is always better than never =) Hopefully the email thing works out soon!
Comment: Hi Mary! I used to make something like the Spaghetti-sour cream Casserole many years ago - we called it "Martha's company casserole" and it was wonderful! Thanks for reminding me about it. The other two recipes look good too! Thanks for sharing!

Comment: Mary, if I could give more hearts I would! You really went all out, thank you so much. It came the day before my b-day (today) and was such a lovely surprise. Love the flowers you make - I wish I knew how to do that. The book was a huge surprise, I can't wait to start it! Thank you for making my birthday special.
Comment: Thanks for the Danielle Steele -- I don't read her often but always read the ones that are sent to me through a swap -- that's my Danielle fix : ) Thanks too for the bookmark. . . and I started the book today since I just finished another book. Thanks again --

Comment: Thank you so much for the note cards and recipes! I love your handmade cards! My grandmother use to tat and I have such fond memories of her sitting and tatting. Unfortunately she passed when I was 10 and I never got to learn.
Your cards are so pretty.
Response: My "old maid" Aunt Pauline taught me to tat. She did it all the time, and I loved watching her. Most of my dresses when I was little had tatted lace on them. I am now teaching my 10-year-old granddaughter to tat. She is quite proud of herself!

Comment: Loved the cats and thanks for the lovely note. I remember Madison College so well. It sure has changed and is changing. They have taken the land of the baseball statium beside the old Harrisonburg High School and tore down the statium. I forgot what JMU is building there. Have a good day!

Comment: What a wonderful storyteller you are! Thank you for sharing all your endearing traditions, the beautiful snowflake (it is already on my tree) and the very scrummy looking Christmas Breakfast Casserole recipe. I hope you and your family have a terrific Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. Anna
Response: As I said in my message to you yesterday, I had not sent this swap to you because your address was not listed. When I checked, you were partially suspended. I was checking on old swaps that I had not closed out, and discovered that your address was back. I will be sending the swap within the next week.

Comment: I thought it was interesting that it was hard for you to come up with ways you sabatoge yourself and it was so easy for me! I hope I get to your level someday!
Response: I think my inablilty to think of ways I sabotage myself was some sort of sabotage! I am just very good at it! I don't think it is a positive thing, but something I need to work on. I am busy trying to be more aware of how I sabotage myself. Another way of growing.
Comment: CLYDEESMOM 4/5/2008 THAT'S A VERY PRETTY CARD WITH ALL THE FLOWERS. THANKS FOR SENDING IT TO ME. MARY, I JUST LOVE THE LITTLE NOTECARDS. Comment: Amazing little envelope! I love the cards, and the fabric you sent as extras you are so thoughtful. How hard is it to learn tatting? I looks nice. I can crochet, but I'd love to do more artistic things too.
The ATC's are also very nice. It felt special knowing you used your family album to make these!
Response: I am so pleased that you liked what I sent. I was apprehensive about the ATCs, so I am glad you felt they were special. I am downsizing pictures, so chose ones that I liked but had similar ones. Tatting is easy for some people. I am not sure I could learn from a book, although there are instructions out there. You might find someone who tats and is willing to get you started.
Comment: thank you mary for the wonderful book!!! it has some neat crafts in it!!! and the bookmark is cute
Response: I am so glad you like it! I think it is fun to look at alder craft books. They remind you of how life has changed, even in just 30 or so years. I also got it because it had several crafts that you are interested in.

Comment: Mary, thank you for a GREAT PACKAGE! I enjoyed everything! My most favorite parts were the notecards and tags. The tatting technique you used to make the flowers was really neat! I had never heard of that technique before. I had almost run out of notecards...so these were really needed! Then you had my children "fighting" over who would get what out of the odds-n-ends bag! Thanks for separately wrapping everything, that was a nice touch!
Comment: I knew it was you just as soon as I saw the tatted card -- and then I found that bookmark! Thanks so much. I've not read either of those authors before. "The Case of the Missing Book" looks like fun.
Comment: I love the postcard-- Florida is very beautiful! I'm not sure when the last time you've been to Columbus was but I moved from here in 99 and came back a few months ago. It has grown so much! I was really suprised:)
Comment: Mary, I loved your letter and the story of your birthday parties. Often I feel I'm the only swapper in her 60s-- so good to know you're one of the hexagenarians! We've swapped before and your crocheted cards are really lovely. thanks for them and the bookmark.
Comment: 1/14/2008 YOU ARE SOOOOOOOO TALENTED. THESE CARDS ARE BEAUTIFUL I CAN'T BELIEVE ALL THE WORK AND ALL THE TIME THAT WENT INTO MAKING THESE CARDS. I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE REALLY APPRECIATED AND WILL ONLY BE USED FOR SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL. THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST THINGS I RECEIVED. THANK YOU. LORRAINE
Comment: What a terrific package you sent for this swap! I love the tatting design on the cards and the bookmark! I've never tried that before - though I have some of the cotton thread - but I sure like how yours came out. I like how you drew a little leaf on the envelope too - nice coordinating touch! Thanks also for the postcards (and the stamps) You are right - I like to send them as well as receive them. And I especially love them when they have maps on them. There is so much to see. I know the CA area pretty well so I enjoyed looking at the artistic rendition of that state and I am planning a trip to Washington DC in the late spring, so I enjoyed looking at the map of Ocean City Maryland. Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness!
Comment: Mary I am very impressed with both atc's, I love flowers and love tatting. I haven't met a tatter in many years, your work is lovely. Even the note card with flowers is beautiful. Your atc's have really made my day beautiful, keep up the good work sharing your tatting with others, Doskie

Comment: Thank you for the very nice package. I buy lots of stamps but didn't have the lighthouses yet. Also, the tatted cards are almost too pretty to use. I love that you did them yourself. Thank you for doing this so quickly and so well!
Comment: Thank you so much for the extra goodies. I love the tatting....is it hard to learn? Maybe one day I'll sit down and figure it out. I still haven't got the crochet thing figured out yet. All my stuff ends up looking like little bowls:) But that's cool too.
Response: I think tatting is easier than crochet. I too have problems with the shaping in crochet. I am not sure I could learn to tat from a book. Maybe you can find someone who could teach you. I am so glad you liked your package!
Comment: Lucky, lucky me! Thank you for the wonderful ATC and matching notecard. Also love the azaleas. I, too, was taught to tat as a child but never had a shuttle so I have long forgotten all that she taught me. I learned to crochet and never looked back, but I do collect tatting along with my other vintage laces - it is sooo beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with me.
Comment: Marigold~ Yours has been my favorite swap package yet!!! Those flowers you make are adorable! Love the red one on my box and really love the "Joy" mini atc.... How DO you make those???
Response: You have made my day! Thank you for such a glowing comment. The "Joy" mini was one of my favorites too. I cut the base out of a catalog. Making mini and ATCs has made me read catalogs and magazines differently!
Comment: Mary - love the tatted flower cards. do you tat? I took a class to learn to tat many, many years ago. thanks for the great swap. judy
PS- mary I should have read your bio before sending the note , then I would know you tat.
Response: I have a very red face. I just found your feedback. I am so sorry for the earlier e-mail! Thank you so much for such nice comments.
Comment: Very nice envelope full of goodies! (Plus 2 unused 41 cent stamps I can use to send out other swaps!) I've seen tatting before but never knew how to do it - I love the way you turned it into flowers. Thanks so much for the envelope!
Comment: Mary, I am so embarrassed. When I got your re-send, I realized that I had already received it, and that you were the victim of a disorganized swapper. Hearts to you for sending again so promptly, and a GREAT word besides.
Response: Please don't be embarrassed. I am just glad that you got my word, which I dearly love! Keeping swaps organized is a real challenge. I have mine on note cards -- probably not the most efficient system -- and sometimes I feel like I am shuffling a deck! Thank you for the rating!
Comment: This was one of those rare, fun packages that are just full of curious and interesting STUFF! I am amazed at your skill in tatting- I can't imagine how people who do that manage it so well! Excellent!
Comment: How thoughtful! I love your handmade note cards - they're going to force me to handwrite notes, you even included some wonderful pens! The mints are, of course, my favorite, especially to keep in my locker at work. Thanks for sharing your craft and time for this swap. ^^
Comment: WOW - what a beautiful snowflake!
Most of my Christmas tree ornaments are antique/vintage (from my Grandmother) and this piece will fit in perfectly. Thank you so much for this and all the extra goodies!
