Hubby (a former park ranger) told me some of the local bird clubs built a nest near Hoover Reservoir (not the real one ;+) to attract eagles and ospreys. Comment: What an awesome packet of ephemera you've sent! I love everything - the children's birthday cards are so charming, with one young man born the same year as my 86-year old dad. The crochet and tatting instructions are certainly daunting to my skill level, but likely not to my great aunts. And the decorating advice "From time to time, one needs a change of surroundings both physically and spiritually" rings as true in 2017 as it did it 1948. I'm imagining who used the the McCall sewing pattern and how her sleek, fitted dress turned out. Many thanks for the wonderful packet of vintage papers and the flights of fancy they inspired.

I had a lot of trouble opening it. Do you always tape the entire envelope? Well you didn't leave the very top open this time. I was afraid that I was going to rip the contents.
Response: Glad you liked them. I do always use that much tape, I've gotten envelopes that didn't have tape and we're ripped opened and stuff missing. I try to leave the very top untapped so it can be open from there. I tend to put alot of embellishments on my work and those gems can rip the envelope.

Comment: Love it. Especially the microbead necklace! But your pretty flower got quite mashed. I like to pad around thick embellies so everything is the same thickness. It helps a lot. I use cardboard and bubble mailers cut into smaller pieces. It will be in my collection always.

Comment: Howdy Pardner! I sure do love your cowgirl ATC...complete with rope just like it was lassoed! I used to ride when I was younger but I didn't live in a place where we could have a horse. We are retiring to SC (someday) with 6 acres and a lake so maybe, just maybe....I sure would love to have one and we will have the space. I work at San Diego Animal Shelter; I’m an officer so I take the baby mittens I impound home sometimes and care for them! Comment: Lori--You matched my profile delight in animals perfectly in these two tags! Thank you SO much for the bear and squirrel tags--two of my favorite animals! In Oct. 2011, we drove to the Smoky Mountains and stayed in a cabin deep in the woods where we had black bears come after dark to see if we had left them any food (which was against the rules). But what a treat to see them just outside the bathroom window! We have a squirrel feeder on the front yard giant oak tree just outside the window in my art room. I get to watch the squirrels busy skittering and chasing each other every day that I am busy creating.Thank you for two tags that will always be very special for me when I go through our tag collection from these swaps in years to come. Comment: The tags are fabulous! I love both of the birds, but especially ravens. I was reading a review today on good books regarding Poe's "The Raven" poem. The woman told a very interesting story about how she was walking home one evening and there were a bunch of them in a tree. They started calling out to each other and really scared her (she was a child at the time). Of course she tells the story better with more embellishments. Your giving heart shines through in every card your create. Your Cavalier Spaniel is an exact image of my Tia. This one is going on my wall in the craft room. And then your gift of the little girl with the bird and nest. You knew how much I admired this piece and you sent it my way. I am more thankful then I can ever express, really and truly!. Last year I created my own fairy garden and well....the plants froze over winter as I forgot one night in the fall to bring them in. Now I will replace with false plants. I truly enjoyed "playing" with my tiny fairy dolls like a little girl. I guess sometimes we are not to grow up fully. I love the fairy image you used. The background with so many layers and trim. The top is wonderful with the tulle and wording and the feather is a great addition.
