Comment: Hi Nichole, your letter was so inspiring!! I have had a lot of depression and anxiety attacks in the last few weeks, so it was really great to get such an uplifting letter. Thank you so much! Also, it was super helpful that you wrote it on the back of a copy of the Swap— very easy to find you. I might start doing that from now on!! Thanks again and happy swapping,
Your friend, Hilary Jay
Comment: What a good idea to print out the swap and write on the back! This was such a fun letter to read, and I'm glad I read it right away - stupid me left it on the bedside table, and when I returned home, it was just ... gone. Well, my dog has a habit of eating paper sooooooo he also ate your words up :) Thanks for joining this month's SOC! :)
Comment: I received your journal this weekend and I love relaxing and reading this. It feels like catching up. I did have to giggle about your explanation over Cornhole though...given that I spent all day Saturday at a Cornhole tournament. ;) Thank you. Thank you so much for sharing you with me. xo
Comment: I'm just going to come right out and say it.
Fucking powerful and raw. Thank you for sharing you.
Response: I almost feel ashamed when I write my journal sometimes because I feel like without all the details, it's easy to judge my actions. But to not put it all out there and be honest would be... dishonest and untrue to me. Glad you appreciated it.
Comment: I always love getting one of these journals from you. They're always interesting and honest and I just loved your hashtags! Lol Thank you for the Scentsy samples - best smelling package I've received in ages! :)
Response: Haha, much better than smelling like pets or cigarettes. :D
Comment: Got your journal... wow...I hope mine doesn't disappoint. Looking forward to grabbing a cup of tea and reading.
Response: February was a whole lotta drama, so if you like soap operas, you're gonna enjoy it. I realized I probably come off as a slut thanks to February. On a good note, you were my 100the rating. Woohoo!
Comment: I really enjoyed reading your journal and found it incredibly refreshing to read someone else's day(s). I could reply to a lot of it, but this would get particularly long so i'll leave you with one. I am SO thankful I'm not the only one who has youtubed interviews of Jennifer Lawrence lol I did that about a week ago and I'm so shamed :( it's like a guilty pleasure :\ anyway, thanks again for the great read, hope to do it again soon!
Comment: Thank you so much for the wonderful glimpse into your life! I had never done a journal like this before and as I was reading it I truly felt like I was hanging out with you for a month. I hope mine didn't bore you too much. :) Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
Comment: What an awesome journal - I am so glad you were my partner! I loved reading your journal (I've been wanting to try Munchkin, but have never done RPGs before but I may have to now!). Loved the scented stickers - man, I miss scratch n' sniff! Thanks again - if you ever want to do any private swaps or penpal, just let me know! Peace, Michelle
Response: I thought adding scented stickers would boost the awesomeness of my swap. The Dollar Tree by my house has some but I am always disappointed in how artificial they smell, but duh, they are artificial and cheap. :P I think I included the Scentsy ones too, and I get them free monthly and never use them all in my advertising so I am glad they are a welcome surprise in my swaps, otherwise, I would just throw them out.
Comment: Hey girl! I read your journal! Oh my goshhh... I used to live in Riverside and haha I have been to the Brandin' Iron!! I used to do karaoke a lot but my favorite karaoke is a bar in LA called the Liquid Kitty. Ever been?! Doing karaoke and going out to see live music is something I've avoided recently because I'm afraid it'll make me want to drink, but I'll have to get back into doing those things sober soon. Also I know the economy is shitty there, that was the main reason I decided to come to Texas. I was doing the same as you, working a bunch of different part time jobs and not really able to pay the bills. It's so expensive to live there too. Here in Texas at least you can work a crappy retail job and actually live on that kind of money! Good luck with everything. Sorry you lost your job, and your boyfriend sounds like a pain in the ass! Maybe I should get some scentsy from you, I've been meaning to try that stuff!
Response: WOAH! What are the odds that I live where you basically used to live?! That is crazy. I have never heard of Liquid Kitty and yes, it is easy to drink at places with a bar, but I have friends who can get by without drinking. I salute them. As far as Scentsy goes, I would be happy to send you some information, but everything can be found on my website (linked on my profile). And if you have question, feel free to inbox me. Special tip for this month; Monday's are super blowout sales on different items, up to 75% off so if you are looking to try Scentsy out but not sure you want to spend the money, a sale would be a good idea. :)
Comment: Thanks for sharing your July with me. :) I love the covers and i have some serious hand writing envy (I'm a leftie too). I hope your knee is feeling better and that the roommate search goes well. Have fun at camp, I'll keep saving the soda tabs for you! Feel free to contact me any time for journal swaps. :)
Response: Thank you so much for the compliments. I should be arriving at Camp in less than 10 hours! Have a nice week.
Comment: Got this lovely journal in the mail yesterday and just finished reading it :) Sounds like you had an enjoyable trip--cribbage is a game we played quite often growing up. And, while I've never played D&D, I find it really fascinating to read about it! Thanks for the map and postcard!
Response: Yay! I'm so pleased with the way it turned out. You definitely got one of the best so far (even though I really wish it would have had pictures that my boyfriend took, but he didn't upload them in time for me to add them), mainly in regards to content.
Comment: May I ask whose penis is now adorning my ATC binder? My bf got a kick out of this. I might host another willy series. I love yours
Response: That would be the willy of my boyfriend. The trial run came out more obvious, but I felt the way it came out may have actually been ok since it could actually pass as just a terribly painted monster. Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Comment: I had so much fun reading about your month! I must look up the Zombies Run app - maybe that would inspire me to walk more. :) I think it's so awesome that you play D&D (and yes, I did know what that meant LOL - I was a teen in the 80's and even watched the cartoon!). The Hello Kitty post-it notes are really cute. Thank you so much for another awesome swap!! :)
Response: I read you liked Hello Kitty and knew they were right for you. I just have things laying around waiting for the right partner to 'claim' them. :) I used that notebook specifically for you as well. By the way, did the butterfly remain on the notebook?
Comment: I'm so sorry for the late rating. For some reason I thought I had left you one already - good thing I double checked! :) Wow - you have seen a lot of bands in concert! I'm totally jealous! ;) I do count myself as lucky though that I did get to see Oingo Boingo twice as a teen. :) If you want to see a band that really does them justice, go see Dead Man's Party. As a huge Boingo fan, I highly recommend them! They do an awesome tribute concert and really honor the original band. Thanks so much for the awesome letter! :)
Comment: Thank you so very much for resending. If I could give you more than one heart I would! I loved reading about your bearded dragon and I love your penmanship...makes me so envious because I am not a neat writer at all.
Response: I'm so happy you got it this time! Also glad you enjoyed it and I hope that if you didn't know much about beardies, you were able to learn a bit. I love her. And if I didn't say so, the stamp is a picture of Stryker!
Comment: Thanks for the journal :D It is cool that we just keep going...with the Jan journal then Feb and now doing March. If we get partnered up for April or something...ewwww eeeee ewwwww....scary ironic.
Comment: I got your letter today: thank you. I love the enveloppes you send as extra: lovely!!! I also love the way you write. 2012 wasn't really a good year for you so I really wish you a great 2013! That 13 may be a lucky number. I like to answer your letter if you like .... Thank you again!
Response: I would love a response. Glad you liked it (and I forgot what I sent, I always do, ha).
Comment: Thank you for the private swap. The envelope arrived unsealed and the giftcard code was already scratched off, but luckily, the card worked okay.
Response: It was scratched off because remember when I told you I checked the website to make sure the card still had money on it (since its been in my wallet over a year) and I could only do it by typing in the code.
Comment: Thank you for sending out so promptly. Drawing on the sidewalk sounds like something I would do. I enjoyed reading your one sentence a day. I wrote mine in the same style as you. Happy Holidays!
Comment: Thank you! My package arrived today and I had fun going through the different stationary, slap bracelets, and yummy scents (the whole thing smelled amazing)! I really just adore the charms and can't wait to use them on something special. I want to use the candles but realize I need a warmer, can you pm me with more info? Thanks again! Sher
Response: I'm so happy you liked the charms! I knew as soon as I read you liked wine and such, that those were yours. I hope I sent enough slap bracelets. I figured two for the older kids and two for the parents (I believe I sent four), so I hope you guys enjoy those.
As far as the wax goes, I should have slipped a biz card in there. The website on there will tell you about warmers, but if you still have questions, feel free to PM me.
Comment: Hi Nicole, or maybe I must call you, Nestacia... heeh thank you for the lovely letter and the stuff of hogwarts. When your envelope arrives I understand why you paid so much on postage. Never, I mean, NEVER say priority mail at office. It's expensive. So next time, don't buy the envelope there just put on any envelope and say "economic" It's less than 2$. Btw, something red arrived broke in many small pieces and I have no idea what is it. Hope nothing important! Anyway, thank you for everything! ^^ Best wishes!
Response: ARGH! That makes me so angry! I said DO NOT BEND, it's breakable. It was a wax seal on the acceptance letter. So, I paid a ton of money to have it shipped (I assumed) safely, and yet it was not. SO ANGRY!!!! *sigh* I had no other envelope the size to fit that stuff... I guess I just don't know anything about the postal service yet. :( If you give me your email address, I will send you a picture of how it should have looked.
Comment: So many bottle caps! Love it! OMG though. Opened the package and it was like a blast of scents all over. They smell great but being stuck in the envie and finally being opened it was like woosh smell me! LOL Kids are already going crazy over their bracelets as well. Thank you for the swap!
Response: Glad they can enjoy your swaps. I think it's awesome that people with children are swappers because you can carry on the tradition of being excited when the mail comes, not depressed that it's only junk and bills. :)
Comment: Although sent a day late, I was aware of the delay (they emailed me in advance) and a couple of extras were added to make up for it. It was worth the extra wait loved the little book of lies - read it in one sitting (thought I'd manage to save it but I was enjoying them too much). Thanks!
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and it got to you okay.
Comment: Thanks for the scents, I have a sensitive sense of smell so they're a little strong but that's impressive-- to have traveled that far and kept their scent so strongly :) I'll definitely be putting them to good use.
Response: Oh yes, Scentsy has some very powerful scents but thankfully they have some mild ones as well. They realize some people want to make their whole house smell good while others are simply keeping their bathroom smelling fresh. There are some nice light scents they have as well, White Tea & Cactus is one my mother can't get enough of.
Comment: Thank you for the free samples. I loved the scents.
Response: I'm glad you liked them! There are only a few I have made in sample size right now and not many people specify in their profile what scents they like (not even myself) so it was kind of "just throw them in the envie and hope they like them!"
Comment: Hello Stryker, thank you for your letter. I will write you back very soon. Lupi
Response: Yay! How exciting! At the last minute I thought to put sand in the envelope and then afterwards I realized I really should have taped every possible exit because I'm sure I upset some postal workers. :(
