Comment: When i need to cry I can’t let myself as is so I watch amy’s Death episode and it works every time. Bonus is that I can blame it on the show and not my ‘silly’ need! Rick and morty is crazy fun yet violent, the perfect mix :)
Comment: Thank you for the Van Gogh postcard Deirdre! To be honest, I've never seen this work from him before and I have been to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam at least 4 times? Must have never paid attention or it's just too ugly haha :)
Comment: Deirdre yesterday late i went to my mailbox and there was such a surprise awaiting! I wondered if this postcard was from a painting and it was amazing! Dover publications have put out great stuff! Thank you for the postcard of such amazing animals! Enjoyed this for the sheer power and energy i felt was coming thru the painting of the dinosaurs!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely postcard. I stopped reading aSoIaF somewhere at the middle of book 5. Martin is a good writer, but the books don't worth 6 year wait... I will probably read the finished series one day.
Comment: Wow what a neat Black and white postcard! Especially the saying! Enjoying contemplating the saying that was on front! My father in his spare time was a violin maker and he did get to go to London and hold THE Stradivarius. He was older and that was one of his highlights in living his life! Thank you for the reminder! Deirdre!
Response: What a great story! Thank you for sharing!
Comment: Hello! Thank you for the card, and your concern about the fort McMurray fires. Fortunately we are much south to the fire but sadly my sister lived there and had to evacuate :( good news is her house didn't burn down and she will be able to go back in a few weeks. Thanks again!
Comment: hahahahahaha! When I 1st looked at the PC I wondered why it was considered offensive hmmm...then I thought well, it does look like a giant penis...then when I read the words on the back "erection of Ypsilanti etc" I laughed...even funnier for it to win the "Brick Dick" award hahahaha! thank you so much for this card.
Response: It's a well-known joke around Michigan. It's pretty funny. I'm glad you liked it!
Comment: Thank you for the postcard! I stared for the picture a bit, then read the back of the card and thought: "Ooh! It's a flamingo! How didn't I see it first?" This is why I love art :P Have a great week!
Comment: Hello and thank you for the card of local eateries! I love that you sent a card of somewhere you've actually eaten at :D I've never been to Michigan but hopefully one day I will, and if I make it to A^2 I will try out some of the ones pictures!
Response: Definitely, we'll take you to all of the great places!
Comment: Thank you for the pretty postcard. I am waiting to re-read the game of throne books until he is about to publish the next book, since I know I won't remember all of the ins and outs of what's going on. :-)
Comment: Thanks for the excellent PC! I am originally from WI and we used to "Walk the Bridge" every Labor Day and visit Mackinac Island, and drive back through the Upper Penn, stopping at the Upper's Tourist Trap. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Thanks so much for the wonderful Polar Bear pc, one of my favorites so far! I love polar bears. My husbands family is from Detroit MI, I haven't been there yet, but I hope to visit there one day. Thanks again!!! Hugs
Response: Glad you like it! There's lots of fun things to do in Detroit these days!
Comment: That was so sweet of you to send me two, my lucky day! I don't think I've seen that VanGogh unless it is in the coffee table book I have that I haven't set out for years, I think I'll take it out and look through again :) it. Is really unique! thanks also for the Toulouse-Lautrec. The Denver Art Museum had an exhibition of his work when I was in college and I wasn't familiar with his work before that and fell in love with it.
Response: It's not truly a Van Gogh (another reason why I sent you a safety card), it's from an episode of Dr. Who where they visit Van Gogh.
Comment: Thank you for the cool card featuring the Michigan Central Station -- I am a sucker for Beaux-Arts architecture :) Thank you also for the recommendation of The Great British Baking Show; I will have to check it out, since I am an Anglophile who also enjoys baking! Cheers!
Response: We have a lot of Beaux-Arts architecture here, the Detroit Institute of Art is another great example!
Comment: Thank you for the Greetings from Detroit card. I visited Detroit in 1964 for our senior class trip. That was a long time ago. I remember going to a theater and seeing It's a Mad Mad Mad World. It was so funny and one of my all time favorite movies.
Comment: Love this card!!! Furiosa is total badass. Mad Max: Fury Road was such a girl-power movie – I never would have guessed! Thank you so much for hosting this great swap. It was very hard to choose just one favorite fictional lady – there are so many! :)
Comment: Thank you, I do like the card even though I'm not really a fan-i. Actually haven't watched any. Of the. Modern episodes. However, I do feel like Dr. Who has always been part of my life, I remember my Uncle watching it for hours on TV when I would visit my cousins when. We were yound. Maybe it was on a PBS station back then?
Comment: Sorry for the delay on rating. Christmas card rush and swaps were overwhelming at times. I had concerns on this, as all your cards depicted the same topic of Michigan, and I haven't received that when sending alphabet letter swaps like this. All OK! Thank you.
Comment: I love this Christmas owl! I'm not sure if he/she is happy it's Christmas or upset about wearing the hat and having a candy cane stuck in his/her mouth :-) but I do love it. Thanks so much and have a wonderful holiday season and hope to swap with you in 2016 ~~
Comment: Thank you so much for the postcard "Did you know ?". I have a small collection of these postcards and I'm so happy you sent me one more. Great stamp too ! Thank you again :-) Merry Christmas Deirdre !!
Comment: So, first you send me a Charley Harper postcard. You have no idea how much I adore Charley Harper. And I'm surprised you're the first to send one to me. I think what bothers me so much about postcard stamps for the past 10 years is that they feel like Charley Harper knock-offs when we could be stamping with the real thing... c'mon USPS... get with it!? I do not buy baklava. I like it too much.
Response: I love Charley Harper too, tell me your favorites and I'll send some more!
Comment: Thank you for the great-big "chunk!" I wonder whether Arbor Brewing gives tours. I always like taking factory tours. The Jelly Belly Factory is not too far from me, and I've toured the place more than once--even though I dislike jelly beans! :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the Detroit card, Deirdre! I can tell you my little city will be joining Detroit on that bankruptcy stat if the mill here ever closes. I've always wanted to visit Detroit, but I never got all the way around the bottom of that darn Lake Michigan. Lynn
Response: There are a lot of wonderful things to do here, Detroit is really turning around!
Comment: Thank you for the pretty dog postcard! I think it's a galgo espanol. They are lovely dogs, but unfortunately often abused in Spain for racing purposes. There are organisations who rescue them and adopt them out to Dutch people, so you see them here often, and they are almost always rescues. I really like these dogs!
Comment: Thanks so much for the Beauty and the Beast card. I have to be honest - I have never seen this movie!! There isn't any real reason, I just haven't had the opportunity to watch it yet - perhaps I should get on that!
Comment: I just tried Not Your Father's Rootbeer beer. I would say it's not very beery, but I'm not much of a beer drinker so it was great for me! I mixed it with Rumchata. I loved your watermelon box. Last night we saw a "Shark Melon" on TV. You should google it - totally awesome!!
Comment: Deirdre! I love the Belle Postcard!! I'm a nut for Disney everything! We're going to WDW on December 5th and I am already a giddy freakshow about it! HAHA!!
Hope you have a great weekend!!
Comment: Hi Deirdre! I love this chunk and will have to show the hubby - he loves craft beers and IPAs the best! I will have to let him know about all the breweries, I see a road trip in our future!! LOL! We enjoy going to breweries, wineries and even distilleries these days - it's all fun and learning the history of the places is an added bonus! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Hi Deirdre!
WWII was a crazy time! In some countries women were viewed more equally than others and in the Russian this was obvious. There were women in infantry, medical, officers and even snipers. I am looking into a sniper persona to see how that might work with some of the stuff I have. I've been reenacting as a US Field Nurse for 15 years or more and it's time for me to expand my range a bit and do something new!
Comment: Hello Deirdre!
Thank you for the lovely postcard from Detroit you sent me! How cool it is to know you work in a biology lab! I think biology is beautiful - studying the life is one of the most amazing things to do. I've always wanted to play Terraria but never had any idea whether it is any good, now I'll definitely check it out! For building things I loved playing the LittleBig Planet series. I just finished playing Life is Strange for PS4, such a deep and emotional game!
I wish you all the best!
Comment: What a delightfully beautiful card. I love the hand drawn look of the White Trillium series.
I agree Pride and Pejudice (BBC series) was such a good movie. I had to go and buy it to watch over and over again.
Comment: Deidre, thank you so much for the "pink" Lady Slipper flower postcard. I used to see them all the time in the woods across the street from where I grew up. I've only seen the pink ones, never a yellow one. Where did you see them? Shirley
Response: They're wild in Michigan. I usually find them up north, but they're rare. I'm glad you like it!
Comment: I love the Detroit, Michigan card you sent. I was born in Flint but my parents didn't really like the cold weather so they brought me to Texas when I was 3 months old. (They were both from the south and went there to get jobs.)
Comment: Thank you so much for your lovely postcard! You too are the only person besides my daughter that has heard of Harry and the Potters hehe! The Voldemort song gets stuck in my head more than I'd like!
