Comment: Thank you! Sorry it took me so long to rate...it's been a busy month! I love the extras! Oh...I actually lived and worked on Catalina Island for a year and a half, but would just like to return to show my husband and son! Have a most fabulous holiday!
Comment: Loved your envelope. I like to make my own, too. Thanks much for all the extra PC's. Come to think of it I seem to get a lot of waterfall cards, too. All were super nice. Thanks again and maybe we'll meet again at the mailbox.
Comment: Wow! What a wonderful, amazing & somewhat creepy postcard! I would love to stay there, now it's a bed & breakfast! I really wonder too about all the dolls...when I was checking the mail I almost missed the postcard! It was all the way at the bottom and up against the side... So it really blended in...until I saw a doll staring at me! Lol really love the postcard! Thank you very much!
Response: Happy to hear you liked it! I worry that not everyone has the same idea of odd. And glad you didn't miss it in the mail. I've noticed lately that the mail is taking a really long time to arrive and I've had five things go missing recently, some coming some going so I;m glad you got yours!
Comment: Thanks for the wonderful map card. I grew up in Delaware and went to grad school in New Jersey. I have lots of wonderful memories of the beach at various resort cities and canoeing in the Pine Barrens.
Comment: Thanks for telling me about Bar Harbor -- then and now. And this card comes all the way from La Canada and it's (sob!) 76F... We still had the heat on today :-(
Response: Yes. I keep feeling terribly guilty that our weather has been so perfect lately. Sadly, perfect for humans isn't so great for plants and such, and I know we'll pay the price eventually. but it's lovely while it lasts!
Comment: I lived in So CA many years, but it was more like an 8-10hr drive for me from Laguna. I think you're very lucky to live so close. My sister and I were talking the other day about how much we want to see it again soon.
Comment: Cake!! Thank you for the amazing card, and info! I'll be sure to check out their site, even though I already know it might not be the brightest thing to do XD (PS: I'm ridiculously intrigued about the cake truffle ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡)
Response: They're really tasty! And easy to make. There's lots of recipes on the web. But Milk's are hands down the best I've ever eaten! Hope you find your way there some day.
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful postcard! :) I love it. In regards to what you wrote, sometimes I do wish I had gone out of state for school like your daughter (for the adventure and change in scenery, etc.) But being close to home definitely does have it's perks--I get to go home whenever I'm missing my mama!
Response: Awww, what a lucky mama you have! Next time you're together think of us! Every bit helps.
Comment: I wish I could give you a zillion and a half hearts for this envelope of amazing postcards! They are all fantastic and I'm not sure I'm going to want to pass any of them on! LOL They are all fantastic and thank you for the extra ones!
Thank you for joining my swap, and thanks for being a GREAT swapper!
Response: Oh good! I'm soooooo happy I could do something for you. You've done such amazing work on the traveling pc project!
Comment: Sorry for the late rate - your PC got lost in my messy office (I share it with 6 people :S) and cleaning up today someone was like "oh this is yours"! Wonderful card, full of memories for me!!
Comment: I love those tourist attractions! I can see people building them, but why does anyone visit? I confess--I visited a similar one in SW Wisconsin. Didn't buy a postcard--I'll have to make a return trip. Thanks for the card.
Comment: Thank you for the church postcard. It appears that St Augustine was settled by the Spanish in 1565. That is much earlier than Australia's settlement in 1788 by the British. I will send your card out in the next few days.
Response: I was really interested to learn about the early settlement of Florida. I had no idea. I found the architecture really interesting too.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely postcard! :) It took me a while to find the correct swap, because I've taken part in all of the Hello Stranger! PC swaps and you had forgotten to write the number. Have a nice day!
Response: Whoops! Sorry about that! I get so frustrated when other people do that. I'm really sorry I did it to you.
Comment: Just picked had a change to get to my PO box and your lovely card was sitting there waiting for me and you're right, it really does capture desert living. And the colors are gorgeous! It needs to be in a frame!
Comment: Cleveland has an artist studio very similar to yours. It's the "Screw Factory" and artists have open houses twice a year. The building was originally the Templar Car factory back in the late teens and early twenties. I think they made about 500 cars before they closed. The building still has several mint condition cars on display. Thank you for sharing this with me.
Response: Glad you were interested in it! And thanks for sharing the info about the Screw Factory. I'll be sure to look for it if I'm in Cleveland.
Comment: Thank you for the California map card.. I do have one that I bought myself but I don't think I have one written on.. if I do it is def. not this one so your safe =o) If you ever have something from my PC faves list and want to do a private swap for a Hawaii Map card let me know =o)
Response: Don't have anything from your list at the moment. But I'll keep my eye out & get back to you if I find something. Thanks!
Comment: Thank you.The artwork is beautiful. Now I have to Google Green Tara. I also worry about sending a duplicate to someone. I am starting to enjoy hearing from the same people on a regular basis. :)
Comment: Hi! Love the Carol Burnett pc! I wish your daughter all the best on her college decision, but oh' my - applying on the east coast and you are on the west! That is hard! Yes, each stage is so bittersweet, but so worth it! Sending Big Hugs your way and wishing all good things for all of you! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Thanks! Glad you like the card. I was puzzled by it. Din't you wonder why she's holding a pot? And it looks kind of like her dress is made of a dishcloth.....
Comment: Thank you for the postcard. I like the picture.I wish your daughter the best of luck in choosing her college and you in finding a project when she leaves. I am lucky my daughter is in NYC only a 4 hour drive away.
Comment: Hi Carlyn...thank you for all FIVE gorgeous ATCs!!! I had to double check my notes to be sure I wasn't suppose to send my partner 5 cards. But no, only one was required. And a special thanks for the personalized "G" zentagle. LOVE it. Hope to be able to swap with you again sometime!
Comment: Wow, you're fast! AND...you make awesome ATCs...that that as a compliment as I hardly say that around here LOL Love the textures and composition very much, thank you! Thanks for the extra cat stickers too! :))
Comment: Hello Carlyn,
Thank you for the lovely and well-crafted Zentangle D you created for me. Your Zentangle D will be a positive addition to my Zentangle a-z Series. I like that you used color as it added postively to it.
Hope the New Year is treating you well.
Comment: Thank you for the nice ATCs! I really like them! And also thanks for the extra pictures etc. I can use them!
Let me know if I can make a picture of your ATCs and put it on my website under the section about the ATCs which i have received? This is my website: www.swap-blog.weebly.com + you can follow my blog on my swaps on www.swap-blog.blogspot.com
Have a nice day!
Response: Yes, you're wecome to post my card. i became a follower on your blog. Good luck with the Chinese. I studied Mandarin when I lived in Shanghai. Very difficult to learn, even when immersed as I was. I stuck with it for a bit after returning to the states, but have really lost it now that I've been home a while.
Comment: Thx for the beautiful atc!!! Its absolutely gorgeous!
You really hit my taste and I love it and the extras very much (the transparent roses especially!) !
hope to swap with you again :)
Comment: Awesome! I was thrilled to see the Mary Engelbreit and dragonflies on some of the ATCs you sent! I was tickled with the Holly Hobby extras you sent too! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness!♥
Response: Glad you liked them! And let me know if you could use more Holly Hobby - I have a huge pile that my grandmother left in her things. I'll never be able to use them all.
Comment: I'm such an amateur when I receive cards like yours. They always inspire me to send out my best and keep trying. Thanks for participating on Swap-bot.
Response: What nice words to hear! Glad you enjoyed the cards, I really enjoyed making them. And it's funny - I had the same response when I received this swap - it was a beautifully zentangled piece that is far beyond anything I could do. It was a great swap all around!
Comment: Gosh, my apologies -- I thought I'd rated already for this marvelous envelope surprise! The "H" is just gorgeous, one of my favorites so far in this series. The surprise of all the beautiful Buddhist images really was a delight. I've been running low in my stash for using in miniature shrines, so your gift is so timely and so touching. Thank you!
Comment: Hi! Thanks so much for the awesome punch art atc! I love your new technique! Also, what a sweetie you are to send stuff for my son's memory book! Your "Happy" mail is wonderful! Thanks for joining the swap as well - I hope you enjoyed it! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Thank you so much! I was nearly overwhelmed by the lovely package you sent. I love everything and can't wait to artsify the blank notebook you sent! I also really love birdhouses, and the paper you used was adorable. I wish I could give you more hearts <3
Response: How nice to hear such kind appreciation. Glad you're pleased with your package.
Comment: Caryln!! SB likes to partner you up to me!!! I'm so lucky to have received yet another GORGEOUS ATC from you!! You used such amazing items on this ATC, its so rad!! Thank you so much for your effort and sharing your art with me!! Also, thanks for the extras, they will come in handy!!! ♥
Comment: Carlyn! I love getting ATCs from you! What is this fantastic green stuff you put on the leaf? It has spots on it? This is a gorgeous ATC! Such great extras too! Thanks so very much! ♥
Response: Hi there! Sorry to be so long responding - I've been out of town. The "stuff" is Liquid Embossing by All Night Media. It's the clear color put over a rubber stamp that I did in green then cut out. The dots on top are done with a paint pen. I love the liquid embossing stuff - it can be used in lots of different ways & is really fun to experiment with. It's pretty easy to find online. Hope you find some fun ways to use it! Best wishes! Carlyn
Comment: This is more "ephemera" than "images," and a few religious themed items (Christmas, angels), but the Potala Palace postcard makes it all wonderful. Potala Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and this particular view is one I don't have in my collection. Thank you very much.
Comment: Carlyn! Thanks so much for this gorgeous ATC! You really worked some great textures into this ATC. Where'd you get that netting stuff you used? I also like the pink , what looks like cobblestone, stuff at the bottom;) Also, thanks so much for the extras, they will find a good home here!!! For some reason, SB isn't giving me the option to leave you a heart. I will come back and give you one as soon as it lets me, so for now please take this heart ;) ♥
Response: The netting stuff is what my drywall guy uses to patch holes - it's self-stick - love to work with it! You can get it at any hardware store. The cobblestone stuff is eggshells (boiled clean first!) Glad you like - I had fun playing with new (to me) textures
Comment: Thanks for the ATC. Unfortunately, the background was completely unglued from the card stock but I'm going to reglue it, if you don't mind. Thanks for the old medical dictionary page, as well.
Response: Oh my, I'm so sorry. I've not had that happen before - not sure what happened - maybe the hot days when I mailed it to you. Thanks so much for your kind attention to put it back together. The medical dictionary page was from my grandfather's med school days - circa 1925! Hope you can put to good use.xoxo
Comment: Thank you so much for the typography ATC's. I just can't quit looking at the "D is for Drama". For the life of me I can't figure out how you did that!! It's not a sticker, not amagazine pic... I also LOVE the finish on it.
Response: I did the artwork in photoshop then printed it onto a transparency then stuck it onto a painted card then coated the whole thing with gel medium. Glad you like it!
Comment: Carlyn! Thank you so much for the beautiful ATC! I really like the quote you chose for the ATC ;) What is the medium you used to cover the entire front of it? Also, you left out the info on the back, like the title, date and edition, do you wanna PM me so I can fill it in on the back? Thanks so much!
Response: Whoops - I was racing to beat the mailman - sorry about that! I used Matte Mod Podge straight out of the jar to cover the card. As for info on the back - its edition 1/1. Untitled & date is 5/12/08. Thanks for your help! Carlyn
Comment: I'm assuming the envelope I received is from you- are congratulations in order? Nice bits and pieces of things, especially nice to get those beads to finish up my dotee dolls! Thanks for swapping!
Response: Duh! Can you guess I'm a new swapper? I just saw a swap where you make little cards to insert in the swaps you send out. Guess I'll sign up for that one & get busy. Sorry for any detective work I made you go thru!
Comment: Thank you for the fun little envy of surprises. It said 17 cents was due on the envy, but it was delivered anyway. So, thanks for the xtra stamp. Did you know that there is a 58 cent stamp? I just found that out today!!! Hugs.
Response: Thanks for the tip - I'll pick some up to have on hand. I actually took the envelopes in to the post office & had them weigh them - so go figure!
