Comment: Thanks, Yuri for the sweet card! I'm definitely wishing for warmer weather! My birthday is on the 4th, and I remember some years it was very warm, but I don't know about this year...plus I work at the Phillies ballpark, and I hate working there when it's cold. Hope you have a wonderful day and year!! Happy Birthday!! =)
Comment: I am so sorry for rating this so late. I have been taking a long break from swapbot because I was preparing for my wedding. It was over now and I am back on swap bot. Thank you for your swap. :)
Response: Congratulations! I hope it was fun and memorable for you!
Comment: Hello, I got your letters today :) What a coincidence, I also attended law school in my youth, and more recently, I had recently worked at one too :) Your letters bring back fond memories of my own schooldays and also of students I had worked with. Enjoy your time there! Cheers.
Response: I can't imagine going back to law school after I finished. :D That is very admirable!
Comment: I've heard good things about "Good Omens" and tried to read it several years ago. I must not have been in the mood for such whimsy because I couldn't really get into it. I'll have to see if I still have it and try again. Thanks!
Comment: well I tried not to cheat but one was on the top of the pile when I took them out of the envelope...loved it..."don't look back...you're not going that way"...boy I can't tell you how many times I have told people to get on with their lives and quit dwelling on all the drama that happened in their pasts...live in this moment we have now...thanks, I am sure the rest will be just as meaningful.
Comment: Thank you for the postcard; I'll pass it on as soon as I can! And thank you for the note -- that was a fun and extra-special addition to the swap! Thank you for it and for writing what it reminded you of. All the best and hope the weather plays nice for you -- it's warm and sunny here and definately beginning to look like summer!
Comment: Oh my gosh! I am DYING laughing right now! This is a Fan-TASTIC card! Thank you SO much...this is EXACTLY why I created this swap. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Wish I could give you more hearts because this is amazing! LOL
Response: When I got you as a partner, I knew exactly which card to pick! I'm so happy that you enjoyed it!
Comment: Unfortunately I didn't meet my goal this year for the NaNo as I was having issues with my health but I still worked on some ideas so I have plenty to keep me busy for a while :) Merry Christmas!! :)
Response: (Sorry for the late reply) Happy New Year!
Comment: Yuri, I am so glad you were able to resend your letter as it was so interesting to read. What an adventure you had living alone in South Korea! Is S Korea your heritage as well? I am Japanese-American but I am sad to say that I have never been to Japan. Hopefully we will have another swap and I can get to know you better. Thank you for the extra cards too! Ali
Response: I'm sorry 1. for this late reply and 2. that the first one never got to you. Yes, I'm Korean-American. My parents were born and raised there. I really recommend going to Japan. I learned SOO much that I could never explain just from visiting and that's why I went back. It really is eye-opening and (I know it's cliche but) I learned so much more about myself.
Thank you for the postcards you sent me for the Pick-me-Up Swap. I have a sister who lives in Greenwich, CT which is right next to Stamford and is not far from Danbury. I have been to both places when I have visited my sister. I will add these postcards to my Postcard Collection.
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful you detail you provided in your letter it was really interesting to read and I enjoyed sharing your thoughts on the book. I loved Coraline but this is one Gaiman I haven't read.
Response: I highly recommend it. It's supposed to be a children's book (I suppose I did read it in one afternoon), but it definitely has an aspect to it that caters well to adults, as well. Yay Neil Gaiman~
Comment: This PC freaks me out so much. I love it! My favorite villain from Doctor Who. Geronimo!
Response: I'm glad that you liked it so much/it scared you so much. I've only recently gotten into Doctor Who, but I managed to watch all 9-11 in the span of about 4 months. Thanks for the rating! Allons-y!
Comment: contemporary art is consider to be done from the last twenty years! so obviously the Monet painting is not a contemporary artwork( it's impressionism)) and i like Monet!!! thank you, Yuri! all the best to you!
Response: Ah, perfect. Well, I'm glad that I sent you something that you liked. Yay for Monet~
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful cards, I love the art card with the plants. Can you tell me a bit about the coin, I have never seen this one. it is really great! Thank you!
Response: The coin is a Korean coin. I believe that I sent you a 100 won coin. It's equal to about .10 USD. Not a lot, but they've very common and basically used like quarters there. The monetary system is divided into base 1,000. So 1,000 Korean won is about equal to 1.00 USD. Hope that helps!
Comment: Hi Yuri! Wow thanks for the cool seasonal beer postcard, I love it! Next time I'm at the liquor store, I'm going to check to see if any of our local breweries make a pumpkin ale, it sounds delicious!
Response: It's definitely one of my favorites and I'm always so sad when it's finished for the year. I stock up at this time, but it never seems to last very long... :(
Comment: I found it (sorry I lost track of rating it). A beautiful card of "Tulips". Good luck with your flower garden next year! Sandwich, IL is a fun/quaint little town and everyone does get a kick out of the name, Take care, Annette
Response: Thank you for the great rating and the heart~! I thought it was really cute and wished that I lived in a small town.
Comment: Ah my sneaky address- The "n" is supposed to have a tilde over it but I am too lazy to figure out how to type one on my computer. As to Magic Hat, I often buy it forgetting my husband is not a big fan, so it's mine by default! Oh well!
PS I hope Ryu gets to pitch game 7!!!
Response: Sneaky sneaky! I like No. 9 but I don't like the Seance and some of the smokier ones. Oh well. (Also, too bad about the Dodgers, but I'm thinking that if they keep the majority of their core, then they'll be all set for next season. Go Blue!)
Comment: Just received your postcard. The postal service really did a lot of damage to it. It is smeared all over with black ink. I just don't understand how they do so much damage to postcards. I did like the postcard picture of the pine trees.
Response: Oh no. I'm so sorry about that. It's a shame that they go through so much in the mail. I tend to get lots of postcards with rips and tears. :/ Sorry about that.
Comment: I love this PC! I have this set as well. It struck me as something unique and wonderful. You have beautiful handwriting! I hope you are enjoying that awesome fountain pen! Thank you!
Response: Why thank you very much! I never thought of my handwriting as pretty or nice, but after I got this fountain pen, I've really enjoyed just reading my own handwriting. Thanks for the great rating and the heart~
Comment: Haha, mario! I actually bought this exact pc a few days ago.. It looks so much better with a mustache! Thank yooouu! X
Response: I was searching through my postcard collection and found it and immediately thought of Mario. I wish I could have found a man to draw it on, but this was fine too, I think. Thank you for the wonderful rating and the heart~
Comment: I have seen dr who. I think I've even seen an episode with slitheen in it. This is a pretty cool postcard, thank you!
Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed it! I've recently been re-watching all of the Doctor Who episodes and I couldn't help but share some of the awesome postcards. Thanks for the great rating and the heart!
Comment: It was a great pleasure to receive your postcard with the interesting design and I was really touched by Haruki Murakami's words. Many thanks!
Response: I'm so pleased that you received it and liked it! I was looking for something blue-related to write and as soon as I read it, I knew that it was perfect for this Blue PC swap. I'm so glad it connected with you!
Comment: Hello Yuri! Thank you for the postcard. Just a gentle reminder, do include the swap name & your ID, I had a hard time figuring out which swap this is :)
Response: I'm glad that it got to you safely. I believe I wrote it at the bottom, just next to my name. If I didn't, then I apologize. Usually, I pick out the postcards and write addresses and swap names, but it was a big swap. I apologize!
Comment: OMG! The Doctor Who postcard was amazing! My husband brought in the mail today and says to me, "you got something really awesome today." We are huge fans, and this was our first Doctor Who related surprise to come through the mail since I started swapping. And I'm super psyched that you sent two postcards(the second has yet to arrive[26.9.13 i'll update when it does]). Thanks.
Response: Yay~ :D I'm so glad that I could make you happy. The second postcard was actually the first one I wrote out, but it's not nearly as exciting as the Doctor Who one. Sorry :/
Comment: hi yuri!
it was great getting those new *unexpected* postcards ... it's fun getting random images to
appreciate & ponder (sometimes it's difficult
figuring out what faves are to request, so i like
being able to be open to what is given!)
please have a wonderful week welcoming autumn & more good snailmail!
Response: Thank you for the great comment! I love to read that people enjoy the swaps I send them. You have a great week as well! Yay for autumn weather!
Comment: OMG MATT SMITH IN MY MAILBOX!!! And his hearts are torn in two! I just re-watched Donna's last episode yesterday and I never got over it in the first place so this just did me in. But in the best possible way. Thank you!
Response: :D and D: I was so excited to send your postcard out, but then I happened to read the poem on it again and got the sadz. I'm so glad that you liked it!
Comment: I love the postcard, thank you. I guess you get tired of apple smell when you're around it all the time :/
Response: It's good every now and then, but when my mom has a candle that smells like apple and we have apple pie and there was an apple for lunch and some apple slices with my breakfast and I have a whole day of picking, packing, and shining apples...? Too much.
Comment: Great bucket list! I will have to look up what the New Zealand night sky looks like! Also, I am trying to collect postcards from every country as souvenirs!
Response: New Zealand skies are absolutely astounding, both at night and in the day. I just can't imagine having that for my entire life. Some of my friends are so lucky! ^^ Thanks for the great rating and good luck on the collecting!
Comment: Hello Yuri- Thanks so much for the great map card of Paris. I don't care that it is written in French. I am just crazy about maps of all kinds, whether I can read them or not. I will definitely put it in my collection. Best wishes, Debbie
Response: I'm glad that the language wasn't a problem and that you enjoyed it so much! Thanks for the great rating and the heart!
Comment: Thanks for the card. The guy who was a consultant on the film "Cars" is the authority on Route 66--the original script had lots of
Route 66 stuff in it. So the card really caputures the spirit.
Response: Wow! I didn't know that. I'm glad that it fit so well, then! Thank you for the rating and the heart!
Comment: Thank you for the pc of Toy Story! I have never seen the movie! I must see it someday! Yes...Maine is the way life should be :) I live in a very small town & I loved cities when I was younger but I am loving the peacefulness of life here!
Response: I really wish I could go back and spend some more time just sitting in nature and not letting all the other things in life bother me so much. I try to go back every year in the winter for skiing, though!
Comment: Yes, this is an odd & not very pretty card. I looked up the French Translation -- it merely means no passing (around the curve the solid rather than dotted line). Not sure why a postcard would be necessary for this...
Response: I guess people in French-speaking countries wanted to tell other people in French-speaking countries that they weren't allowed to pass on curves with solid lines... Strange...
