Comment: Hallo Elisabeth,
Comment: Thank you for the list--the only author I am familiar with is Yrsa Sigurdsdottir, who was a speaker at a conference I attended. Always interesting to see what others are reading.
Comment: Thanks for the great card! I joined this swap because I have lived in Germany twice, first from 1951-1954, and again from 1968-1970. The cards have brought back some wonderful memories. (I hope I didn't spell that too badly -- I can speak more than I can write.) Anyway, thanks for a little piece of "meine andere heimat" and happy swapping!
Comment: What a great list of books! I am going to see if some are available in English - perhaps my book club might be interested in one of them. And a BIG thanks for the flower seeds :-) :-) :-). I look forward to planting them in my garden.
Comment: Thank you so much for your p/c and what sounds like a super recipe. Will definitely make this for my craft group next week. I've been to the Black Forest when I was in Germany for 3 months some years ago, so this brought back lovely memories - thanks!!
Comment: Thanks for your reading list (and the goodies). I appreciate you translating the titles, since I'd have no idea what they meant otherwise :) I'm not much of a thriller person (too hard on my nerves) but some of them seem interesting
Comment: Thank you so much for your survey, I really enjoyed reading it. You pick wonderful books to read! I want to read The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I also think it's nice that you have a place you can leave books in your apartment where other people can take them. Such a neat idea. Happy new year and have fun reading!
Comment: Hello Elisabeth! Thank you for the excellent postcard showing Gothic spire clock tower. Beautiful colors & decorations on the clock. Yes, I like November as here in Central Florida is when cold weather fronts come all the way down here & cool our days, dry, no humidity & cold nights. I don't use the heat in my apt. Florida has more months of high heat, high humidity, & Nov - Feb are months of relief. I go out & exercise. Happy November to you!
Comment: Thank you for the nice swap! I love the Little Prince postcard you wrote your swap note on :) I don't mind that you added a new postcard for yourself - of course you deserve it since yours was returned home already! :) I am still waiting for mine (I have two going around actually, because I didn't receive previous round's PC in time before) to return. I'm so excited to see where it has travelled. Have a lovely winter time! :)
Comment: Elisabeth, I will be sending the postcard on. Thank you for the postcard of the castle. To live in a place like that would be wonderful. You are very lucky to have both of your parents still living. Here is wishing them an extra long life. Shirley
Comment: Thank you very much for the super- cute fox postcard and the nice message! Wow, yet another reasoned visit Black Forest in Germany!!! I have only been to Munich, and would love to see more of your beautiful country for sure... Vielen Dank!
Comment: Thank you for a beautiful postcard of Freiburg. I have put it in my blog at:
Do have a look when you have a time and I hope you leave a comment.
Once again, thank you - I really love this postcard
Comment: thank you so much for all the things! I tried the tea and really enjoy it! I'm so glad you sent a horror my way! I just got done reading a really disappointing one, but this one seems like it'll creep me out good! thanks again!
Comment: Your Books for Booklovers swap parcel arrived today and I'm absolutely delighted with it. I don't know this book but it is very much the sort of thing I want to read at the moment. I am trying very hard to understand the run-up to WWI and the war itself from the point of view of people from the different nations involved in the war. I recently bought a book with translations of German students' letters about the war, which I'm reading alongside a similar English book. The poster is fascinating and is hanging on my office wall. And I like the owl notebook -- and I always like chocolate!
Thank you for such a thoughtful parcel.
Comment: What an excellent swap!!!
Danke, danke, danke!
Comment: Thank you for your reading map. I've read only one of the books you mentioned (by Riikka Pulkkinen) but I have to keep the others in mind. I couldn't agree with you more, I wish I had more time to read!!!
Comment: Thanks for the great PC! I wonder if this was a monastery that was being remodeled and they made PC to pass out to encourage patrons to help fix it up? Hope Spring is in your part of the world now. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: I'm glad you like the PC. I really don't know what the building is and I don't remember where I got this postcard. Yes, spring is already here and I wish the same to you!
Comment: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Thank you, Elisabeth for the wonderful package of candies and postcards. You're so sweet and generous! I'm amazed at how fast this arrived - 4 days from Germany to USA has got to be a record. I hope you receive mine soon and that you are as happy as I am today. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Comment: You made my day! I love the cards. You really selected the kind I like. Thanks ever for Russian, Czech, and of course cards of beautiful Germany. I must put my thinking cap on and try to translate. The best I have received! betty jean
Comment: Went to check the mail today and found an envelope from you. Thank you so much. Now I have a clearer picture of what a FB is suppose to have. Thanks again! Love the birdy and ADORE the postcard that comes with it :) :)
Comment: Thank you so much for this!
I absolutely love your starter FB. It's a wonderful way of making FB's!!
+ extra big thanks for the postcard which I collect and is new to my collection!
Thank youuuu :D
Comment: Wow, what a wonderful parcel! (Ich schreibe mal Englisch, damit alle wissen, was für eine Freude du mir gemact hast;)) Everything is perfect and the book looks really great! Funny enough, I was reading "To kill a mockingbird" on the train back home today and your swap was waiting for me. You really made my day - that's how I wanted this swap to be - you shared something special with me and I can't wait to start reading tonight. :) Thank you so much!
Comment: Thank you so much for the book and the lovely assortement of stuff. I have to admit:I've never heard of Pessoa, but I'm already intrigued by his ideas and imagination. Thanks for putting so much care into this. :)
Comment: Hello Elizabeth, Thank you for your letter. It was lovely to hear from you and even more special that we have a few things in common. It is a true pleasure to meet you. I will write back soon. I didn't understand your address so I'll send you a private message to obtain it.
Comment: I got the postcards from you today :) Thank you very much for the additional postcard, I'm very happy to hear your son liked Budapest - I agree with him, it's one of the most beautiful city around the world :)
Comment: Brilliant postcard.. I can't wait to send it on the next round.. sorry for the delay, I've been away with work for a couple of weeks, but got home tonight and had loads of lovely post on the (It may well have arrived a couple of weeks ago)
Thank you and for the super tiny little extra as well : )
Is the animal a warthog or style of pig.. brillinat postcard!
Response: the pig is a wild young piggie: Here there are too many of them, they devastate gardens and can get quite dangerous, but I love them anyway.
Comment: Wow! What a wonderful package. All the drink packets, lollipops, tote bag from Freiburg, bookmark, bath salt and the wonderful smelling tea lights(they smell so good. Thank your daughter for the coaster also. I will put it under my coffee cup every morning. Someday I hope to go to the Black Forest. I have always been facinated with the looks of the houses and shops. I also want to get one of your famous coockoo clocks. Thank you again. Shirley
Comment: Hi Elisabeth!! I just received your parcel and I wanted to thank you sooooo much!!!! I loved everything! Earrings are so cute, your daughter was right! Also thanks for the huge amount of envelopes! I lived in Freiburg for 4 months this year (January to April) and I loved the city! I will be writing back, if you are lloking for penpals! :) Hugs
Response: Hi, it would be nice to have you as a penpal! Shall I write first or will you?
Comment: OMG!!!! I can never thank you enough for the awesome shirt and extra goodies!! This shirt is beyond perfect and fits! It is now my new favorite shirt!! This was the best item I ever got in a swap.....I LOVE it with a passion!!!!! So freaking cool!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU ROCK!!! I am sending you huge hugs and a billion thank you!!!!
There should be a higher rating for you, but since it only goes up to 5, I gave you that (it should have been like a 25, and a heart, but, you still deserve more!
Comment: Everything in the package are awesome!!! I loved them. And the Germany's socks and key-ring are so Euro 2012 appropriate!!! I am rooting for your country's team tonight, Mesut Ozil is my favorite!!! Thanks so much for everything, right from the cute tote and everything else! Hugs from Malaysia!
Response: Hi, I'm glad you liked it. Mesut Özil is my favourite, too, next to Sebastian Schweinsteiger. I didn't know that people oustide of Europe even knew about the championship.. Anyway, I hope, our team will win tonight. Best wishes from Germany
Comment: What a great list! I love that you listed them in both German and English - except the one not in English yet and the one French novel. A lot of them are books I've enjoyed, too, but a lot of them are new to me and sound quite intriguing! And I especially love the Lewis Carroll postcard (one of my favorite authors!). Between my dad (did his dissertation years ago on the stock exchange in Frankfurt, so he knows a lot of the German language - although not like he used to) and I, we have most of the phrase translated. How neat to read Alice in German! Thanks again for sending the great recommendations!
Comment: Dear Elisabeth, thank you so much for your wonderful recipes of remedies and for seeds and berries! Though our Post opened and inspected your envelope, I think they saw something suspicious in seeds. But I'm happy that I received your letter and recipes, thank you once again:))
Comment: Thanks so much for the great Toulouse-Lautrec card--love his artwork, though I don't recall that particular image. Glad to have it and will add it to my bulletin board. Love the stamps, too--thanks!
Comment: Thanks Elisabeth! Contrary to your opinion, your English is fantastic! There was a lot of thought put into this swap and I loved it! Note for future shipping of seeds - put them in plastic. When I opened the envie they flew everywhere! It's a rough trip here to Abu Dhabi! Thanks again! It was great!!!!!
Comment: You tell me all about this great series and tell me it's not in English yet! Do I learn to read a foreign language or wait for it to come out in English???!!!! I'll keep an eye out for it. Thank you very much.
Response: Yes, two books of the series are already available in English. To read the 3 one you really have to learn Danish, but I heard that Danish is not that difficult...
Comment: Thank you so much! Love my package! Easter is celebrated big in my family, but to a lot of Americans it is all chocolate, bunnys and eggs. The true meaning of the Reserection is forgotten by many, so very sad. Do hope you had a wonderfully blessed Easter and enjoyed your daughter being home.
Comment: Thank you so much for the wonderful tote bags! And the chocolate for me, and the treat for my dog too! What a wonderful surprise! Loved the postcard too, than you so much! You made the swap extra fun for me! (:
