Comment: Oh, Sonia! What an awesome flipbook with so much to discover! Your detailing is amazing...such lovely work. The puffin tag made me smile :) The Bald Eagle fascinates me. I watch a live cam from January until the nestlings fly in June and often inflict it on my students.
Thank you too for the old envelope. Of course, it will be used!!
Response: The German NABU has put aerials on storks, and I like to watch them gadding about in Chad during the winter: https://blogs.nabu.de/stoerche-auf-reisen/
Thank you for your rating and the heart.
Last week, I was in Arctic Norway and I watched the puffins of Gjesvaerstappan (71° North). They are so adorable!
Comment: Thank you for your beautiful ATC! I really appreciate both the packaging and your creativity in the execution. Love the textures and the composition! <3 I also completely agree with your note. It is so devastating to see decades of progress ruined with so much ignorance and greed. Please be sure that there are many people (including me) actively fighting against this new status quo.
Response: Indeed, I know you are, and thank you! Thank you for your rating and the heart.
Comment: Dear Sonia, I received today your beautiful swap. Your work is always an inspiration for me!! I did not even want to open the envelope as pretty as it was set up. Thank you SO MUCH For this amazing assortment of beauties. I love it all!!! ♥♥♥
Comment: Thank you for the very cool "yellow fever" ATC, and all the other goodies you included. You made it a happy mail day for me. :-)
Response: You're most welcome. I have made the green ATC without a fish, in case I draw your address again. I'm sure you want some variety in your collection! I didn't realise until now how often I draw fish.
Comment: Hi Sonia - So sorry that I missed this rating until now. The Spring carvings (including your first adorable caterpillar!) are wonderful. Thank you for spring happenings in your part of the world too :D. Thanks for joining the swap!
Response: Dear Gina,
Thank you for organising the swap. I'm glad you like the hungry caterpillar. I usually have her riding a rocket or wearing a top hat.
Comment: Your swap made me so happy! I love my fairground goldfish, and angel ATC. It was so thoughtful of you to include so many items from my favorites list. I also like the pockets you made out of envie corners. (I'm going to use that idea for future swaps.) Thank you so much for an awesome swap.
Response: I'm glad you liked the ATC and the extras I sent. Green is next up. I wonder if I'll draw your address again? Thank you for the heart rating.
Comment: This was an absolutely beautiful package of goodies. Thank you so much for your generosity!
Response: I'm glad you like it and I hope you and your children have fun with the Egypt project. Thank you for the heart! I was a little impatient when my package didn't arrive, so I have resent. Please enjoy!
Comment: Thank you for the fascinating PC that arrived today. I really appreciate it when senders write interesting facts about the subject on the PC! I'd give you several hearts if I could. I was surprised only 4 people joined the the swap. I hope this does't deter you from hosting this again. It's 1 of my favourite swaps. Hope it can be monthly. Regards Mark :-)
Response: Dear Mark,
Thank you again for your enthusiasm and kind words. I would like to host it more often, but my museums are running out of strange objects!
Comment: Thank you for the great postcard. I really like the stamping you added. I've just recently seen works by Klimt. Like you said they can be a bit hotel. I do like them, I find the extra detail in everything interesting.
Comment: Wow!! I love the design you chose for your dream data. It's beautiful. And it's amazing how many dreams you remembered in a week. I usually only remember one or two. Some of your dreams had me giggling... like the one of the police watching YouTube videos in your office. Thanks for being a part of this swap :)
Response: Thanks for your rating and the heart. I dreamed I was building a greenhouse last night, and that two tadpoles I was babysitting dried out because I left them on the carpet with their toys for too long. I'm not sure how I would have encoded that on the postcard!
Thank you for the swap, I realy enjoyed it. Fancy hosting another at some point?
Comment: Your (now my...!!) concertina is a work of art, truly. It is stunning, detailed, and like a museum display of history. I am in awe of your drawings, information, and use of color. I can see it that paleontology is a passion! (My passion is musical theater, hope my partner likes concertina as much as I do yours.) And - thank you for the vintage French ephemera. Really, this was a special envelope. Multiple hearts for you.
Comment: Oh Sonia! I f***ing love it! Thank you soooo much.
LMT stands for licsenced massage therapist. The mermaid is extremely happy on land, thank you for asking! I hope you had luck with the interviews.
Thanks again for swapping!
Response: I'm very glad you like it so much! Thank you for the heart.
Comment: Thank you. I love the simplicity of this postcard. I'm going to have to find a magnifying glass to read it though. The eyes aren't what they used to be. ;D
Response: Thank you for your positive feedback and for the heart. It's always useful to hear which aspects were particularly pleasing (or not): it's my motor to change and improve. Sorry about the tiny writing. I love to cram in as much text as possible, because for me, mail art is primarily mail, and that means lots of writing! I'll try to remember next time and either type or write in block capitals. See you next swap!
Comment: Wow!!!!! Your envelope is soooo beautiful and creative! How lucky I am to receive from you!!! It is really amazing art! : ) Thank you for the postcards and your lovely note as well. I have a friend who is in Aix-en-Provence right now! Enjoy your trip to Italy!!!!! Thank you so much again!!!
Response: Thanks for your effusive praise: I'm very glad you liked the things I sent. Aix is lovely, but I prefer nearby Marseille, which is more lively and heterogeneous. My trip to Tuscany was fabulous. Art, food, nature, architecrure, wine, gelato and lively people. Ciao!
Comment: Love your postcard and what an exciting adventure you're about to have! I can't wait to read more about the experience!! Enjoy it, I know you love new things!! Thank you for a detailed explanation and all the art mail in the PC! Hugs and Good luck!!
Response: Thanks for your rating, Mariá. I can't wait!
Comment: I get super excited about receiving stamp swaps...this lovely envelope however went above and beyond. It's in my top favorite swaps I've received!! 💜💛💙💚â¤ï¸
This envelope was such a joy to see in my mailbox!! I adore the map punches and the adorable ink stamps used to decorate and even a crab sticker!!! Love love love....and that's just the outside!!
Now the inside was just an adventure to be had!!! Not only did you personalize the selection of stamps, the two postcards that you included were just so neat!!! I loved reading about the Austrian central post offices small toy sorting machine!!! (for children?! Bah!!) if I ever make it to Vienna, this place is on my to do list!!!! Thank you for sharing your postal nerdness with me!! And for sending such a lovely swap 💕
Response: You are very kind, thank you for your effusive praise! I'm very glad you enjoyed the stamps I chose for you. 7 doesn't occur often, does it?
Comment: Thank you for all of the pictures to go with the names :)
Response: You're most welcome. Those great-tailed grackles of yours are just gorgeous! I can imagine that they strut around with great self-confidence and grackle amongst themselves. Thank you for the heart.
Comment: Oh Sonia!
Comment: Thanks for resending - I love this postcard! I can't read it, but it is so cute!. I think I'll make a copy of it, so I can put the little chihuahua (I can read that!) together. Thanks so much for resending! And you dream as strange as I do! Thanks again!
Response: Thank you for your rating. I'm not keen on little yappy dogs like chihuahuas, but that postcard is really cute! Why couldn't you read it? Was my handwriting too scrappy, or did I use the wrong language? Sorry about that!
Comment: Oh wow. This mailing completely made my day. I adore all of the stickers you made and your card and amazing cactus envelope are going into my journal. Thank you for offering to resend. I still have hope that someday the original mailing will find its way to my mailbox -- things like that do happen. :) Take care!
Response: Thank you very much for giving me the chance to resend. I really enjoyed making the cactus card and envelope for you, and I hope we'll swap again. Thank you for the heart.
Comment: Thanks so much for the very cool heart! I love both sides of it, but I was surprised how nice the side with the bubble wrap turned out. I love reusing and including items meant for other purposes in my projects too! You mentioned owl pellets in your note and our family loves dissecting them too. My son is in Boy Scouts and it was the first time I had ever seen a pellet right around 2010. Since then we have dissected many. Love it! Thanks again for my Bird On a Heart!
Response: Thank you for your kind words. The bubble wrap side is the "front" in my opinion, but I like the idea of having a diurnal and a nocturnal side. I wish you and your son many happy dissections!
Comment: Sonia, I can't tell you how much I adore your Stamp Story...perfect presentation, delightful stamps, lovely envie. And including the old wedding photos...then TWO fantastic PCs WITH detailed comments explaining them? What can I say? YOU deserve a bouquet of hearts! Thus, I just sent my little carrier pigeon straight to Hamburg carrying a huge basket of red hearts for you. I'm now spoiled....you're the best! Hearts and hugs...jinanne
Response: Thank you so much for your kind rating. It was a great swap idea, wasn't it?
Comment: Oh @SuMay, what a package!!! I just love, love, love everything you have sent me... Each little or big piece is beautiful, full of character!!! Your 'almost' green piece and envie are stunning!!!! Will frame it!!! Thank you soooooo much for a great swap, full of love and care for my tastes!!!! (((((HUGSSSS)))))
Response: Dear Mariá,
Always a pleasure to send to you! I'm honoured that you are actually having the greenface framed, thank you!
Comment: Thanks for the nice card with kind explanation! It was fun to know about your country and where you live in :) Living close to the sea sounds really awesome! As for me, I should take a train to enjoy a sea. :D
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart.
Comment: You are such a fantastic artist. The stamps you created are beautiful, and I'm very excited for them to get roughed up in the mail! Thank you for explaining the stamp on the envelope. The architecture is very interesting and I would love to see that building in person. The postcards and the Indian postage stamps are lovely as well. This package was wonderful all around. Thank you.
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed what I sent you. Thank you for your kind words, and have fun with the artistamps!
Comment: Thank you so much for your inspiring words of inclusivity and hope. Thanks also for the generous assortment of ephemera, all so interesting to look at, particularly the artwork on the invitation. Your envelope, too, was wonderful, especially your hand carved stamps and the "Tag der Briefmarke" postage stamp. Nice!
Response: The "day of the postage stamp" is lovely, isn't it? Simple and clear. I enjoy sending out German stamps with hearts on them. We're not the first country one associates with love and kindness, so using this stamp puts a smile on my face!
Comment: Sonia, thank you so much for your thoughtful letter and extras! I discovered something else we have in common apart from amphibians I also don't have a driver's permit! Loved all the beautiful glittery things you provided!
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart.
Comment: I am speechless for the beautiness of the book plates you made for me!!! All these swaps are opening a totally new world... Wow... Thank you sooooooo much for everything and the lovely note in Spanish you asked your husband to write!!!! I love it and tell him ''well done'' !!! Hugs and many hearts going your way, happy new year!
Edited: THANK YOU so much for my ''sello''... I LOVE IT!!!!!! I hope to swap with you again ♥♥
Response: Thank you so much for your warm words. I will certainly pass on your praise to my husband, it will make him very proud! I have just drawn your address again for a swap, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it. So please don't look at my Flickr page until it arrives. Hasta la proxima (?), Sonia
Comment: Thank you, Sonia. I want to ride my bicycle into the sky too! Your lovely silver cutout words unfortunately didn't adhere to the card, but I stuck them back on to get the intended effect. Love your envie with all the stamps & stickers, plus the card playing royals on the postage stamp are a hoot! The Surrealist Encounters exhibit does indeed sound like something I'd enjoy. If only my bicycle really COULD fly!
Response: Thank you for repairing the postcard. The card playing royals is one of my favourite stamps. I particularly like the queen's smug grin! I've now visited the "surrealist encounters" four times. I was delighted to see that the curator has made an effort to include art by women.
Comment: Thank you for the St Martin medallion (would you believe I actually knew about ST Martin already from an 80s B grade movie called Flesh and Blood starring Rutger Hauer? well it is true!) And thank you for the lovely Bee theme stationery :)
Response: It arrived at last! That's quite an unothodox saintly education you have!
Comment: I dont know how you got "all that" on the 4x6! But I took a clue from you and did the same thing. lol I didnt even know it was possible. You decorated it so pretty esp. with the gold! You got glitter "all over"? lol You could put in a application to lead Santa sleigh next year! lol
Thank you so much for a fun swapp! Happy New Year!
Response: Thanks for your rating. The answer is: one at a time! Thank you for hosting.
Comment: Thanks so much for hosting, this was a great swap. The pc you sent me is beautiful and I LOVE the story about Gnatasha! :) ♥!
Response: Thank you for your kind words and the heart. I was going through old photos just before Christmas, and I found a picture of Gnatasha's (empty) crysalis. Have you seen the BBC series "Life in the Undergrowth"? It's by David Attenborough and was released in 2005. Our library has it on Blu-Ray. It is just fascinating. My favourite bit is when Sir David has a velvet worm on his arm (not actually a worm). He gazes at it all misty-eyed and calls it "an enchanting little creature". And he's right!
Comment: Thank you for this gorgeous re-send! The reverse is just as beautiful as the front! It arrived intact and undamaged! I love the construction of it and the colors!! Your lettering and the beautiful stamps make this extra special! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry Believe it or not, I received the original one that you sent about "Thurber's Dog" on April 4th, 2017. Amazing!
Response: Thank you for the heart and the chance to re-send. Happy new year, Sherry!
Comment: I could have been happy with just the envelope! Such lovely stamps - very Asian, and the rooster is fantastic! Then there are all the gold embellishment stickers - they are just lovely. I love the entire package. The card you made is lovely - feels like a special or handmade paper, too. And the goodies are great! Last, but not at all the least - and the reason I'm listing it last is because I didn't notice it until I'd opened up everything else - I love the Top Value stamp next to the postage stamps! How fun is that - I was cracking up when I saw it! I love those and S&H Green stamps - they remind me of pasting them in Mom's book when she got home from the store! Thanks for a great Chinese New Year prep!
Response: Thank you for your kind comments and the heart rating. Funnily enough, the card I used is from a binder divider: just cheap recycled card. But I like its velvety texture, too. Happy new year!
Comment: Thank you I loved reading about your volunteer work with the sanctuary !
Response: Thank you for your interest! I'm afraid I sometimes don't know when to stop when I start going on about my birds. I just love them so much. What volunteering are you up to? Thank you for the heart.
Comment: Thank You so much for your beautiful package! It made me extremely happy :) i really like the extras! It was nice to hear that you enjoyed your trip to Lithuania! Hope you get an opportunity to visit it again! Thanks once more for this awesome swap! :)
Response: Thank you for the heart! I think it must be the largest envelope ever used for a 10 stamp swap! I hope I will visit Lithuania again soon, too. Maybe I'll combine it with a bird-watching trip ito Poland and Latvia.
Comment: Thank you for the letter that you very nicely hand inked! I am amazed that you were able to write the entire letter with ink. It is very interesting to read too. Thanks for hosting all these neat swaps.
Response: Dear Mimishka and Niniko, thank you for your rating. Our research with dogs is shaping up: when we ring bell, dogs drop saliva into the measuring device. I will call this the Pavlovian behaviour. Hendrikssen can bite me, as you Americans say. Ivan.
Comment: Hi Sonia! Love the pc and thank you for the lovely share of what you are thankful for! How wonderful that you had such a awesome opportunity and made the most of it! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Thank you for the heart. It was a great opportunity, and much appreciated.
Comment: What a lovely swap - you put a smile on my face today. I adore the envelope - the owl eye is incredible - you're very talented! I'm looking forward to using the tags and postcards in my smashbooks and crafting with the postage stamps. Thanks again. Happy Swapping!
Comment: I absolutely adore this postcard, so creative and funny (and well-executed)! It's going straight on my wall - the only downside of that is I won't be able to see the fabulous Asterix stamp! Thank you very much :)
Response: Goodness me, that took its time! I'm glad you like it. Thank you for your praise an the place of honour on your wall.
Comment: Very nice aerogramme and stamp of the card-playing royals. Even the postmark used an envelope image. But your letter was the treat - lovely and engaging. Thank you for sharing your winter experiences in French class and at the bakery!
Response: It's always a pleasure to draw your address. Thank you for the heart rating. A bientôt!
Comment: Dear Sonia, Thank you very kindly for the beautiful mailart envelope you sent me along with the generous gifts inside. Your thoughtfulness and artistry are evident in each facet of this beautiful piece. It's a treasure. It makes me smile to think of the beauty you're sending out into the world!
Response: You are very kind, thank you! See you in another swap soon, I hope.
Comment: As soon as I saw your envelope in my mailbox I could tell this was going to be a wonderful swap and it was! I absolutely love your envelope and the creative way to open it without destroying it. Your kind note has brightened my day. What a cute card you used and your handwriting is so pretty! I do like living in my new house, even better than when I lived in the country (I live in the suburbs now). If you can believe it it's actually quieter here than when I lived on some acreage! Yes! Everytime I've moved I noticed I can't seem to find everything I had before. Why is that?! It seems like no matter how good you label the boxes things still seem to disappear. Haha I enjoyed hearing about the Christmas markets and I have longed to go to one for years. I dislike crowds, but I think putting up with this would be worth the experience. There's actually a Christmas market in Holland (28 minutes from me) this weekend that I hope to attend. Holland is one of my favorite cities as it's very quaint and you can find many imported merchandise. I appreciate you reading my profile and sending me things that I was sure to love. :) I look forward to putting all the items to good use. Thank you so much for your kindness!!! I wish you a very Merry Christmas!!!
Response: Thank you for your long message and the heart. Do you know, I can't remember what I sent? Never mind, I know I had fun putting it together. I really enjoy the profile-based swaps. It's a nice way to get to know eachother better. Yesterday evening I went to one of our Christmas markets. It was perfect weather: dry and cold, dark early, so all the lights transformed my city into something magical. Here in Germany, Sunday evening is the best time to go if you don't like crowds: enough people for it to be busy and have a good atmosphere, but short waits for the mulled wine (Glühwein) and enough room to stand away from the smokers (if smoke makes you sneeze, as it does me). I love the German Christmas markets! It's just as Christmas should be, in my opinion! Have fun in Holland!
Comment: Thank you for a lovely decorated envelope and lots of great science stuff inside!
Comment: Firstly, thank you for sharing your resolution to "kick the beauty habit" with me. I will respond to that privately in the mail. Secondly, the envelope you made for me was awesome! There is nothing that brightens my day like a decorated envelope. Thirdly, you put cool pieces of ephemera in foreign (to me) languages in there too. I LOVE them! I have always been interested in foreign languages. I have a friend who is from Russia and one from Mexico and I always make them speak their native languages to me. I find them fascinating. Thank you for what you sent. I appreciate the care and effort you put into this swap.
Response: You're welcome, Joy. More decorated post is on its way to you. Thank you for the heart rating!
Also sei vorsichtig mit deinen Einladungen.
Comment: Sonia, I totally hit the jack-pot with me being your partner for this swap-thank you so much! You make me feel bad because my partner got a 4 year old pc, not a very special one over 100 years old with very cool French stamps (I better not tell him what I got, eh?). Lucky for me I have been to the Eiffel Tower--still have a Tower-shaped decanter of cognac that I bought at the gift shop there way back in 1978. thanks again for 'letting go' of this card--it will remain in my permanent collection for many, many years!
Response: I'm sure the card you sent was lovely, too. There must be a reason you were hanging on to it for so long! I'm glad the postcard I sent has found a new home. Thank you for the heart.
Comment: Dear Sonia - thank you very much for your outstanding letter/cards. I love them!!! You have made my day.
Response: Thanks, Enno, and thank you for hosting the swap. Every tiny step we make towards body acceptance will make us happier, and it was interesting to realise, once I started, how many things I actually like about my body!
Comment: Merci' beaucoup for this beautiful "saintly" postcarte! I love all the elements that you put together and how you wrapped the map all the way around to make the reverse special too! Good luck with your French lessons. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: Thanks for the heart. I'm back home now, where it's snowing hard, and I'm training for a French exam. I personally feel that the French could get rid of the subjunctive entirely and be no the worse for it! But until they do, I suppose I'll have to master it.
Comment: Thank you very much for your nice postcard, I really loved, like the beautiful stamps. I understand that the postcard is YOURS, your creation? Even more impressed and grateful ... greetings from Chile...
Response: Dear Felina,
It is my creation, but I had it printed professionally. Thank you for your warm words and for the heart.
Comment: Sonia, this is an awesome postcard. I love all the texture and different elements you sewed onto the paper. What is the background? Chocolate candy wrapper?
Response: Glad you liked it. The background is a sticker the Deutsche Post puts on your post to return it to you if it's insufficiently franked. I have one or two of them lying around! The fan shaped thing is a list of the colours in which you are allowed to paint your house on the island of Helgoland. And of course, I used the stickers I tore off my mustard jars!
Comment: Wow, what a fantastic swap!! The stamps are absolutely stunning. Both the postcards are wonderful - I especially love the old sepia one. As a photography student, it's interesting that there is actually a record of the photographer who took them! Also loved the altered playing card and the bits of ephemera. Totally made my day! Thank you!
Response: Good to know it hit the spot! I'm having a whale of a time trawling the French flea markets. I bought an entire set of dental-grade plastic teeth last weekend!
Comment: What a lovely note, dearest Sonia! I loved hearing of your classes and your adventures in Paris! This is one of the nicest notes I've received on swap-bot--so informative and uplifting. I wished I could experience it all with you! I love the postcards and the bits of ephemera you sent as well. Just wonderful!
Comment: What a beautiful and creative pc! I love all the details, especially the little vintage people 😃 thanks also for telling me about the postage. They're both really cool expecially the astronaut one. Thanks also for the information about the same that's really interesting!
Comment: Hi Sonia,
Thank you so much for the amazing package of the handicrafts museum. This was so interesting to learn about and so thoughtfully written. I hope you do another swap like this in the future. Thank you again and happy swapping!
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the swap. I got a lovely little package of clippings from my other partner. It would be a pleasure to host a similar swap in the future. Thank you for rating, and of course for participating!
Comment: Thank you so much for your wonderful woven animal card...I love the camouflage-ness of it! The little extras that you included are also much appreciated :).
Response: Thank you for your rating and the invention of that new word. I love new words! On Friday, I invented one. I explained to my French teacher that I was feeling rather "vendredaise", fridayish. And she understood!
Comment: Thanks Sonia. There's no need to apologise for the simplicity of your card, I love it!! I'll bet you easily got your 5 portions of fruit/veg a day whilst apple picking 😊
Response: So glad you like it. Yes, those apples were delicious, and because they were organic, you could just eat them straight off the tree, earwigs and all! The farmer didn't care how many we ate, but I confess that he laughed rather heartily when we got bellyache.
Comment: Wow! These are amazing! What a score to find an old photo album. Makes you wonder what happened to the family that the album ended up like that.
You're treatment of these is awesome! Love the "bloody" fingerprints. It's all so very creative!
To answer your question - there are days that I'm so far outside my comfort zone that I wonder what I've gotten myself into! Those are the best days! LOL
Response: Good for you! The comfort zone is only there for returning to after excursions in the unknown! The photo album is a real treasure. I'm sure the people whose photos were available at a car boot sale would rather be turned into ATCs than be forgotten entirely.
Comment: Squeal!! What a beautiful piece of mail art I was lucky to receive from you! It was absolutely beautiful! Thank you sooooo much! Also love the goodies inside! (Super jealous of your time in France!)
Response: I'm glad you like it. Barn owls are so mysterious, aren't they? You are absolutely right to be envious of my time in France. I'm having a lovely time!
Comment: Thanks for participating in the swap I hosted. Also, thanks for sending an envelope full of beautiful things. I have no words to describe your generosity. I would give you thousands of stars. The mini rooster trading cards made my day.
Response: You are very kind with your thanks. Thank you for organising the swap. I hope you will consider doing so again!
Comment: Ahhh thank you so much for the lovely postcard + drawing! I just put it up my wall. Where did you get the inspiration for egyptian theme? 💫
Response: I'd have explained on the card, but the swap brief explicitly forbade it, which made it more fun, in my opinion. The plaster bust of Nofretete that I drew is in the Neues Museum of Berlin, which is on the front of the card. No German (or nearly-German, like me) can think of the Neues Museum without thinking of Nofretete. If you are ever in Berlin, you must see her. She is the most beautiful thing you can imagine.
Comment: Great ATC Sonia! I love the skulls on the ATC, but the background you used is great too.It looks stamps of some sort? Thanks for the tuck ins too. My favorite was the vintage pic of the little girl. I was wowed by your envelope too! I loved my Spirograph set when I was a kid and what a great idea to decorate an envie with along with your local stamps. Great swap! Thanks so much.
Response: Yes, they're stamps. I liked the contrast of the flowery stamps and my crooked home-made skull stamp with three teeth. I'm glad you liked the ATC and you share my glee at finding a spirograph!
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful sugar skull mail art. After a rough start to my morning, it made my day to come home to such a pretty piece of mail. I really enjoyed the note and goodies inside as well. After reading your note and your profile I'm impressed at what a talented and interesting person you are.
Response: That's so lovely to hear (not the part about the rough morning, though). You are very kind.
Comment: Hi Sonia, thank you for your beautiful mail art, you are so talented! It's one of the best I've received. I also loved what you sent me and really enjoyed reading your letter. It's funny, I just recently bought a kaweco sport pen too! Thanks again and best wishes, Michelle
Response: I'm so pleased you like it. I really enjoy decorating envelopes. Thank you for your complimens and your rating.
Comment: Thank you for a beautiful piece of art. The envie is amazing and worthy of framing. I have enjoyed mail art all my life and truly appreciate such fine pieces, just brilliant! It took me to your flicker site which is some amazing work. I hope that our paths cross again. Your profile sounds like my kind of interesting person. The goodies tucked inside are perfect. Thanks again for such a wonderful swap. Hugs, Mona
Response: Dear Mona, I'm very glad you like it. That envelope really set me off decorating envelopes: I'm going through a phase of it at the moment. I'm sure our paths will cross again: Swapbot is a small world! Thank you for the rating. Yours, Sonia
Comment: Ooohh I loved it, really great fun!! Thanks for all the effort and details, awesome!! (Oh no, he'll never know the whole truth, "mum's" the word, he thinks your bail is much higher, I did as instructed -- little does he know HE helped pay for that tattoo, you sly one!!)
Response: Thanks, but remember: don't tell father!
Comment: ALL THE HEARTS!!!! The envelope: delicious. Your writing: so pretty! The goodies you sent: I cannot stop drooling. I will sleep with them under my pillow. Thank you so much, I love everything you sent!
Response: Thanks for your rating. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Comment: Thank you so very much Sonia. I knew I would love this as soon as I saw the envelope- that deserves a heart in itself.
I love the card you sent I always appreciate it when swappers take the time to check out the profile.
Thank you as well for the great extras. Such a pleasure to swap with you
Response: I'm so pleased you liked it! Thank you for your warm words and for the heart. I look forward to our next swap!
Comment: Hi Sonia! Wow, an Englishwoman living in Germany...sounds like your husband is German, then? I absolutely LOVED your ATC and the quote you chose for it (big Bard fan here too)...and the historical extras you sent were perfect! So many lovely Baroque images in the Loreto museum leaflet. I also liked how you described your ATC on the back--I always love insight into the artist's techniques and creative processes. Great swap--I hope we are partners again soon!
Response: Dear Paula,
I moved to Germany because I fell in love with the language. Now my citizenship test is just around the corner... how time flies! I'm glad you enjoyed the ATC and the bits that came with it. Thank you for your rating.
Comment: Wonderful Max Ernst PC! (Ode to Birth of a Galaxy, yes?). Thanks for joining the swap and for your great note on the back; art and culture has a way of shifting our perceptions - isn't it wonderful?!
Response: You know your Ernst! Yes, it was. Thank you for the swap!
. . . . . . Dear Sonia, you are so good for me! How sweet you even think about me when you're on holiday! WOW!
I am so pleased with the Hundertwasser postage stamps, the many stamps on the envie and of course your ATC. <3 - Ellen
Groeten, Sonia
Comment: Hi Sonia, Thank you for the beautiful envelope for my collection. You were very kind to read my profile and to send extra goodies. I hope you did well at your job interview. P.S. How can you write so tiny!
Response: Dear Barbara, My pleasure! I'm glad you liked the envelope and goodies. Thank you for the heart. My flight to Vienna is tomorrow and Wednesday is the interview. I'm really excited! Yours, Sonia
Comment: Sonia you are THE BEST!!! Thank you SO MUCH for the awesome package! The envelope was beautiful! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Your vacation sounds amazing! I hope you have a great time! I leave for New Orleans next week. Cheers! Theresa
Response: Thanks for your rating and your kind words. It was a pleasure to read your profile and to try to find that special something! Have a lovely time in New Orleans. My holiday was great! I especially enjoyed visiting the UNESCO sites for Luther and the reformation and the Dessau-Wörlitz realm of gardens.
Comment: Yes, yes, yes! I absolutely loved finding this little treasure in my mailbox. The lettering on the envie is gorgeous! The cuttlefish ATC is one of a kind and will be well loved in my collection :) Thank you for the doggie stickers - they come in handy :) Thank you for being a great swap partner :)
Response: Thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm! I'm glad you liked the ATC. And can one ever have enough doggy stickers? I met some lovely dogs on holiday. One was a deaf hunting dog, a wire-haired terrier mix of 14 years. I love old dogs, I don't mind if they smell. She let me scratch her flank and leaned right in against me to get more. Perhaps the best was a strapping German shepherd bitch with the incongruous name of "Mäuschen" (little mouse). She ran at the river full tilt and did the most spectacular crashing bellyflop I have ever seen! It's a wonder there was any water left.
Comment: Your quote inspired mailart envelope came today. Thank you for that, the trading card and the nice letter in German (I can read much, but not all of it). Thank you for also calling me a "Germanophil" That really made me smile!
Response: Gern geschehen! I'm glad you liked it! I pulled no punches with my German: I let you have it as I would write to a German, subordinate clauses and all. It's nice to "meet" other English-speaking Germanophiles: we're a rare breed! Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Sonia...oh my! You really got my head with your 'guess what they are'! LOL I think I fell short of about three on each of them, but I don't give up easily before peeking at the answer. Thank you for your very thought out ATCs! Cheers 😊â¤ï¸
Comment: Wow, this was a fun swap!!! I love that you made it out of papyrus and all the elements were within the cartouche. Thank you too for the fishy stickers. It is amazing that this got to me, as the envelope flap was completely open! Beautiful calligraphy too! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: It was fun, wasn't it? Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Hi Sonia...thank you for the very creative ATC's. I did manage to find all but one, then I had to see what it was...NEON! It was obvious once I knew hahaha...thank you too for the very useful extras! 😊â¤ï¸
Response: Glad I could keep you guessing! My ATC for S has 17 to find, he he he!
Comment: Beautiful postcard! I don't have anything like it! I appreciate the time and effort you spent on creating it. I treasure it. Thank you for the paper ephemera too. Just what I love!ðŸ“
Response: Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed making it, too. I think it's important to keep our folk art alive, and Swapbot is a good place to do it. AMA sender's choice is coming your way, too. Different theme, though...I'm interested to hear what you think of it.
Comment: Thank you so much for your lovely surprises! That was incredible creative and I love all of the items:-)
Also thank a lot for all your effort in making this swap really special to me.
All best wishes from Norway
