Comment: I LOVE this tag! The black, white, and red is so striking and I think you did a beautiful job. I haven't even started mine ... I can think of a supply, but not what to do with it! Thanks for joining this swap.
Response: Thank you for your kind comments. I haven't swapped much lately due to busy-ness in my personal life. This swap was so much fun to do. :)
Comment: Thank you! :-) What a wonderful envelope to open - your gelli prints are great and I really like how they turned out with the use of the string. Thank you, also, for the lovely note and the extra papers. Have a wonderful day! :-)
Response: You are so very welcome. Thank you for the kind rating!
Comment: Thank you so much! What a really fun swap this is! The highlight of your great take on this zine for me was the lovely stained glass tag... Nice work and the quote was nice as well thanks again
Response: Thank you for such a kind rating. I am having such a blast with this swap. :)
Comment: Thank you for sending your journal. I'll read it tonight with a nice cup of tea. I agree it was a great practice for the month and would be fun to continue. I love the little journal you used :)
Response: You are so welcome! Thank you for your kind words. :)
Comment: Hi Jessica and thanks for the lovely swap with the postcard, mini envelopes and the cheery note. Love the tiny butterfly! I had great fun with this swap too.. have never made anything on such a small scale, LOL. Hope your Fall lasts ages and that winter puts in a very short appearance. Once again, thanks for the swap!
Response: Thank you for such a kind rating. :) I appreciate it!
Comment: Thank you so much for sharing your lists. Yes I struggled with a couple of them to get to 15 items. I've only did one other "round robin" and it had bad results. One person just spoiled it for everyone. I was so upset and didn't do any swaps for awhile but missed them so much. Now I even got brave enough to try another "round robin." Thanks again.
Response: Thank you for the kind rating. I'm glad that this round robin turned out better for you.
Comment: Wow, great pocket letter! This is the first one I've ever received and it was so well put together and I love the colors you used on the front of it!! This was fun to receive and now I think this might be my new addiction. Thanks for hosting!!
Response: Thank you, Sarah! I'm glad you liked it and that I could introduce you to a new craft. Thanks for joining!
Comment: Hi Jessica! I love your artistic pocket letter, thanks! On my profile you can find a link to Hungarian food, there are some sweets and desserts too. My favourites are cakes with "Parisian cream", "Dobos" cake and cream buns :)
Response: I will definitely check out the treats on your profile. I'm glad you liked the pocket letter!
Comment: Jessica, Those last three calendar pages are fabulous -- thank you so much! I love Edna St Vincent Millay and will enjoy having her on my wall in October, and all three pages will be a real pleasure to look at through the last months of the year. Thank you for a year's set of delightful swaps!
Comment: It's finally hereeee!!! Omgggg.. i love it!! You're so talented.. i really would like to learn and experiment with paints!! So happy that it arrived so you dont have to worry about making another one and i do agree this is absolutely beautiful and i can feel your pain of having this go.. but i will treasure it forever.. thank you so so much jessica.. xx
Response: Oh, thank goodness. I am so glad that you received it and enjoyed it. Post office said 9 days to Spain... I guess they meant 5 weeks. :)
Thank you for your kind response.
Comment: Jessica, the pocket letter is just beautiful! I love the blue skies and clouds and birds in each pocket. The goodies you included were just perfect, such a special touch that everything is a bird theme! I love it so much, thank you!!
Comment: I am really loving how you take these prompts and absolutely make them your own. Hearing your ideas makes me want to go back and do the prompts again myself with a different perspective. Thank you (:
Comment: I always love seeing what you come up with in swaps (: and this was no different. I really enjoyed the way your presented your thoughts, it was so different than how I did mine. I think asking people to do a "what I learned" page to send instead of an actual copy of what they wrote will open up some prompts I wasn't sure about hosting because of how personal they are. So thank you for sharing, and for the inspiration (:
Comment: What a pretty pocket letter you made, very creative! Thanks for the various goodies--I'll enjoy the tea, and using the bookmark, clips & little note pad, etc...I also enjoyed your letter--hope you have a great summer, with lots of time for relaxing...Again, thank you!
Response: Thank you for such a kind response! Happy summer!
Comment: Cool! Your Dylusions journal spirals are fun! I like the texture of your brush strokes over the print too. Neato! :-) I haven't played with this technique yet, thanks for the inspiration! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
Response: You're so welcome. I've enjoyed trying/learning new techniques for this series. :)
Comment: Hi! Thanks so much for the beautiful artwork i i absolutely love it! It is going to take pride of place on my bedroom wall :) I love the zine too that was a lovely surprise!
Response: Please excuse my delayed response - this was such a lovely swap to participate in. Thank you for the kind rating. :) Your crochet piece is sitting on my desk at work and my students have really enjoyed it.
Comment: Well, I have already seen your work and know that it is lovely, but it was wonderful to see more of the cards you have made. I keep hearing about the gelliprinting but I have not done it nor am I quite sure what it is- I am intrigued though. I'd love to swap one on one any time (:
Response: Thanks, Met. It felt a little weird sending you the note, since we've done EBYS swaps together. I would be very happy to private swap with you any time. :)
Comment: Jessica, I don't think we've swapped ATCs before, so it was nice to see your work. (This was a great idea for a swap.) I agree, the ATC Elements & Techniques group is really good for pushing us to learn new things. Thanks for sharing your art!
Response: I loved this swap as well - what a great and easy way to get to know everyone. Thanks for your kind words!
Comment: I love the bright "springtime palette" of this design. It is fun to mix it up now and then. You did a great job with your chevron stencil -- it is hard to get such clear detail. Thanks so much <3<3<3 (I spent yesterday on an artist's playdate with my good friend lcjustme. I asked if she had received any of her gelli ATCs yet and she showed me hers from you. Then I came home to find my own in my mailbox. How fun!!)
Response: I am so glad that you liked the ATC. I noticed that both of my partners were from Ohio, but I never imagined that you'd be art friends. So funny! And now you have matching ATCs in your collections.
Comment: That was such a delightful package to open -- full of surprises! I've been really excited waiting for this one and wondering how you would interpret my words. Thank you for brightening up my morning!
Response: Oh, I'm so glad that you like it. It was such fun to put together. I hope they put together a similar swap in the future - it was a fun one.
Comment: Thanks for the bright and cheery ATC! I love to receive prints that are in color palettes I wouldn't think to use myself and even more so when they are as crisp and clean as this one was. Thanks for sharing your successful print with me. And yes, I too am ready for spring.
Response: You are so welcome. It's not a color palette I normally use either, but I am ready for those spring-y colors. I'm glad you enjoy the print. :)
Comment: I love this vintage ephemera atc! Children's books, and I guess books in general, always end up in my thrift shop cart for art project use. But, I have the same problem cutting them up. I'm super lucky to have this atc!
Response: I am so glad that you like it. It was funt to make and I know I feel more open to using those images - so it's a win all around. :)
Comment: Thank you for this personal and well-made zine!! I love the theme and I completely relate to it in that my body positive journey has been for me and my 6 year old daughter. I understand the desperate need to not have our daughters be raised like we were --to hate their lovely bodies. I'm always so glad to get swaps from you. Thank you!!!
Response: I figured you'd be a good audience for the topic. :) I truly enjoyed making it - I hope we can do more zine swaps in the future. Thanks as always for hosting and for your positive feedback. :)
Comment: You are very talented and a very lovely person, just from what I've seen so far. I very much enjoyed your self portrait, it is interesting to me that you did not show your face. Gosh you'll dread sending to me soon because I get all rambly in the ratings. (: Thank you for the art.
Response: Thank you so much for your kind comments. I thought about the face thing, but frankly I can't draw faces well. The torso, I have down. :) I'm so glad you enjoyed the PC.
Comment: This is a very beautiful ATC and I really enjoyed your take on the rather vague prompt. I know my ATC turned out to have a very different mood (it involved brightly coloured pubic fluff) I'm really curious now about what everyone else created. I was being silly when I made it, but maybe it's important for women to take a minute and think about what vaginas mean to them. Don't mind my rambling, you made me think is all (: Thank you for sharing.
Response: I am so glad you like it! I do think it's important for women to think about their vaginas, as metaphor and as actual reality. Since it's so buried in our society, it's something that we need to express, in jest or in earnest. Thanks for hosting and giving me an opportunity!
Comment: Another great chunky page! I love the idea of using Harrlequin romance novels as inspiration. I've never read one but I'm sort of surprised that more women aren't taking charge in them. I thought that was sort of the draw of those novels...women in passionate affairs that they sought out. I guess I'm not surprised either. I'm glad you found one that is pro-woman and sex positive!! Very cool. Thank you!!!
Comment: I love the two calendar pages you made -- thank you so much. I particularly like January, but both are good. I'd be happy to do further calendar swaps -- shall we contact each other in the new year? We could do private swaps but it might be more fun to open it up so that we all get a variety of styles.
Response: Thank you so much for the kind rating. I would love to do another swap for more pages. I agree that opening up to others makes sense - I like the idea of a calendar with a variety of styles. Let's be in touch after the holidays. :)
Comment: Once again, you've created something I love! I love how you made this a bit snarky. It made me laugh and I love it. It's another piece of your art I will be displaying somewhere in my house. Thank you!
Response: Hooray - I'm so excited that you liked it...especially the snarkiness. :)
Comment: Sorry for the missing rating!! Anyway, thank you for the great playlist. I hadn't heard a few of these songs. My favorite was QUEEN by Janelle Monáe because the music video was cool and I liked the message. Thank you!!!!!!!
Response: No worries! I'm glad you liked it. I've been listening to that QUEEN song nonstop. :) Thanks!
Comment: Thanks so much for the links i really enjoyed them all. I had seen the Ted talk before but it's so great i watched it again :) I particularly love the "pictures of seniors as they once were"- such a brilliant idea!
Response: That may be one of my favorite TEDs of all time. I've rewatched it dozens of times. Glad you liked it!
Comment: I love this!!! It's fantastic and beautifully made. I like how it opens up. That was a great idea. This is one of my favorite works of art I've received on swap-bot so far. Thank you so much!!
Response: Oh, I am so glad that you like it! It was a new way of making swap art for me, so I'm so happy it turned out. :) You're very welcome and thank you for the kind rating.
Comment: thank you so much for the wonderful witch ATC-----I love it! A moon priestess is a beautiful idea! and thank you for the extras---yes, I do love flowers and I will be doing a lot of creating with these!!!!!!
Response: Thank you for your rating and response. I am so glad that you liked both the ATC and flowers. Happy swapping. :)
Comment: Jessica, thank you so much for the great ATC. I love the words you put on it and I love the bird cage. I've been thinking lately a lot about the cage I put myself in and I've been feeling very free of that lately. Your ATC and the post by the Roxane Gay couldn't be more timely. I loved the quote you included and I like the one that said "That's a powerful thing, knowing you can reveal yourself to someone." I've been revealing myself more lately, especially to someone very close to me and it's been liberating. I can relate to you about not wanting to pass along the message of self hate to your young daughter. I have a 5 year old daughter and I try so hard to be real and honest for her. I never want her to feel the way I've had to feel. I'm really glad you joined the group and I hope we continue to make healing artwork together. Thank you and 100 hearts for you!!!!
Response: Sarah, thank you so much for the kind response and rating. I am so glad that the post and ATC resonated with you. It's a little scary to send something so personal to a virtual stranger, so I really am glad it caught you at the right time. Thank you again for creating such a great group. :)
Comment: Jessica, thanks for the fabulous ATC! I LOVE it! You did a great job--and thanks for the recipe. I make lots of soups, and butternut squash is a family favorite. Will definitely give it a try!
Response: Thank you for the very kind comment and rating. I'm so glad you liked the ATC and recipe. It was such a fun challenge to attempt. Thanks!
Comment: Hi Jessica!! Welcome to swap-bot!! Love your handmade postcard ~ so clever. Really like the old picket fence and the porch view! Sounds like you are enjoying your country life. Until about the 2nd grade I lived along a gravel road ~ now that is country (lol). Then we moved to a very small town with only two roads running through town ~ Thanks so much ~ Take care & Happy Swapping, Judy
Response: Hi Judy,
Thank you for your rating and your kind note. :) I'm so glad you enjoyed the card.
You definitely have the country cred! :) As a city mouse, I'm still figuring out how much country is country. Does it count that we have spiders as big as half dollars during the summer? I'm going to say yes.
