Windchimes 04/6/2007

Well I have to mail a few swaps late. And I have been trying to explain why this is the case. I'm very concerned about bad ratings because the postmark will be a day or two later than the send-by date.

There is a lot going on, what with me waking up from the 12 year coma to have found my three year old making profiles on Swap Bot and trading! I am concerned about her because she was late for a swap herself, sent a bunch of junk while I was comatose and then instead of consulting the Oxford Dictionary I gave her for her birthday in the little red wagon she pulls around, she opened a MySpace and claimed to have a rare incurable disease that doesn't allow her to approach steps made of concrete - the post office here unfortunately has concrete steps. That causes an obvious problem. Then on top of it all, she rewrote her profile (remember I am just sleeping through this letting my hair grow I guess - having never been in a coma before I am unsure of the proper etiquette) pretending to me and misspelled all the words (see note above about dictionary). I confronted her about it and all she did was put the dictionary back in the little red wagon, climbed on the wagon, and then on the dictionary (which is about 10 inches thick) and proceeded to talk back to me! She obviously learned that behavior because she was the recepient of a no-send herself! Worse yet, in one swap she told someone that the iguana ate the swap stuff and we don't even have an iguana! She could have at least been honest enough to have said the tarantula ate it, but I guess everyone knows they don't eat paper. And now that I have wakened from my coma, combed my long hair out, and changed my name in the court system four times (and thus my profile as well), I think I am ready to go again. But the swaps caught up during this very difficult period of time in my life will be a bit late.

What I am trying to say is IT'S SNOWING HERE AND I CAN'T GET TO THE FREAKING POST OFFICE!!!!!!!!

Geez, no one will ever believe that part in my profile that says I am basically a very serious person. I really am. I just have this streak that I can't control every so often. (sorry)

user6807 04/7/2007

Ok I like read the first line of that 5 times before thinking, I know this person and this really isn't making sense.

You've just made my day! (and made me feel really daft!)

Ta Winchimes!!

brokenfaedoll 04/7/2007

LOL!

I was thinking the same as Cloverst... "Huh? She was in a coma for 12 years?" DUH, Mel!

You know, Windchimes... you remind me SO much of my dearly departed best friend it's almost scary!

When I saw the reply you made to my "leaving" post, you even used an exact phrase my friend used to use when I would let people get me down!

And my friend was obsessed with butterflies, and with you, it is dragonflies. :)

(You two could be long-lost Sisters or something! ;P)

Sorry, I know I am rambling. It's 5:41 am here and I am wide awake and feeling... melancholy, I guess! o.O

LOL - windchimes you just lent a very wonderful start to my day! This was the first post I read when coming here this morning and you almost made me choke on what I was drinking! Thank you for the lovely addition to the forums!

fairykiss 04/7/2007

OMG funniest post ever! Can't type, laughing too hard :)

mysterygirl 04/7/2007

Hahaa okay now I get it. I may have dyed my hair dark brown but I still have blonde moments constantly. I was like "okay.. wait, how could she have been in a coma for 12 years and have a 3 year old?" The only reason I got it is because I scrolled down about halfway through and saw the comments. Then I read it again and was like OHH :)

moodytuner 04/7/2007

Hahahaha, that was too funny. Thank you.

glolinde 04/7/2007

Hi! I have this swaper in one of my swaps, which has already assigned partners, but only now I came across this...I'll wait and see how the swap goes...to see if she really keeps her part of the bargain, and send the items to her partner.

niecedenise 04/10/2007

Good grief. I think I laughed so hard I (yah they are wet) loved it.

Windchimes 04/10/2007

Sandramatos: Well my snow melted. I hope you enjoy watching me. ;) I personally can't imagine many things more boring, but to each his own.

The send date for your swap is May 7th - I believe that is close to a month away - a little over 3 weeks or so.

I took this opportunity (a ridiculously timed snow storm that for all intents and purposes trapped me in my house) to lighten up a conversation that I believe was going downhill fast. A laugh in common is a good way to remind everyone they are on the same side.

When I say I will do something - I do it. Period.

End of conversation.

cooan 04/10/2007

hehe, I think you should put yourself in the BAD SWAPPER category

artgeek 04/10/2007

Bravo! :)

I'm glad we're getting away from all the negativity, and the message boards are starting to show some humor.

This really brightened up my day...........I too had a "huh" moment, as I thought to myself "She doesn't have a three year old, does she??"

Oh, I like this new thing around here called smiling!!

Heather71 04/28/2007

OMG I think I cracked a rib from all that laughing. My 4 year old came to investigate and just said "oh I'll leave you alone, someone has said something really funny then, but please Mummy calm down, I can't hear the television"!!!!!!

user5486 04/28/2007

That was to funny!!! Windchimes do you live in the mid-west! Cause we get crazy ass snow storms like that...I swear it may be 80 degrees today but I know that there is at least one more snow storm to come!!!
