Tia~ Look for a yellow box on the top or bottom right of your screen when you are in the swap. It is outlined in black and the print is smaller than it used to be. That should have what you are looking for.

racheljohnson 06/29/2008

The yellow box should appear at the very top of the right column on each swap page... however, some people are still having layout issues and the right column actually flows below the middle column. That should not be happening and we will hopefully get it fixed asap. The yellow option box is the same as it has always been, it is just in a slightly different spot. You should find all of your usual options in it.

The new layout changes should not be extremely drastic. If the site is looking terrible, try refreshing a few times. It might take a while to get the full new format loaded if you have the old version cached. We will also continue to work on the IE problems and adjust the text sizes and spacing throughout the site. Have patience. :)

Thanks for your help,

Rachel

Rachel & Travis, Thankyou for the continuous improvements on the site.

Shirley 06/29/2008

I want to say I love the changes, even the smaller font. Just looking forward to have bullets back to my profile xD

And can't emphasise enough how happy I am about the watching list! Also I love our new mascot xD

tobiejonzarelli 06/30/2008

I am also using Mozilla Firefox and I can't find anywhere to rate my partners either. Other than that, no other problems.

tobiejonzarelli 06/30/2008

Never mind, evidently I'm not quite awake yet, I found it in the upper right hand corner. Sorry.

cmhatcstamper 06/30/2008

For public forum notices-like here Is anyone noticing that they have to scroll all the way down the page to see the comments? Maybe this is why the page looks white in the center...

MissThundercat 06/30/2008

wonderful new layout! love the fresh new look and the new mascot! very well done!

dulcimer 06/30/2008

As usual you guys are working hard to make this site awesome. Thanks R&T

8miau8 06/30/2008

Rachel & Travis, this is wonderful! Thank you so much for all your hard work on the continuous improvements on the site. I surely admire and appreciate all you guys do especially because this is a non-profit site, so you are working hard and not making any money out of it. That is really admirable and so very generous of you. Thank you again!

I am not sure if this has been discussed because my computer is taking super slow to load, but where does the member id # appear when you are looking at a profile? Now it says "user:the member name" when I look at someone's profile.

jessmarie 06/30/2008

Signed in this morning to discover the bugs I was experiencing yesterday are all fixed! Thanks guys!!!

Way to go Rachel and Travis!

Some new things to share people may appreciate knowing that I've found:

the new code used reads the 'at' symbol followed by characters as a link to a username... @rengawk goes to my profile.

The old profile numbers link to out new 'named' profile without issue, they just are no longer visible. This means if you have an old link in the previously used style, it forwards to the new one. :)

If you have a link to a Flickr account in which you have not assigned a permanent name (meaning there is the @ is your link) the link will fail and try to do a profile link like above.

Wonderful job! to you and Travis for putting so much time and energy into this site. I love the watch-list option.

I had got one announcement for having a new message, but three new messages. I would not have logged in at all if it hadn't been for new message announcement, so two new messages would have gone unread.

cerwinrhiannon 06/30/2008

I'm still missing swaps.

magpie55 06/30/2008

It says I have no current swaps and no archived swaps. They are just gone unless I press my sent button and then they appear but I cannot view them. Major bummer. I don't do well with change. It looked ok yesterday but my swaps are just gone today.

magpie55 06/30/2008

ok, I found a way round robin hood's barn. If I bring up the 'sents', I can click on the title and get where I want to go. I do wish the box with my ratings could be read without scrolling back and forth. The box is too little.

quiltluver 06/30/2008

When I used to sign up for a swap before the changes it would give me a list of participants - after I had signed up - I don't see this anywhere - has this feature been changed? or am I just blind?? thanks ^debbie^

spinjenny 06/30/2008

That reminds me of a question I have - do hosts now see the list of people watching the swap, or the total number of people watching, or none of the above? I think it would be useful for hosts worried about not having many people sign up, and perhaps considering cancelling the swap, if they could see how many other people have declared some interest.

racheljohnson 06/30/2008

@HeideC Member id is no longer really visible anywhere. Since the usernames are now all unique, they will essentially act as a user id. However, the old profile links still work and will be re-directed to the profile pages.

@rengawk Great catch on the @ username feature. I was going to unveil that a bit later, but I am impressed you already noticed it! We will have to look into the flickr account glitch...

@pahasiga We are looking into the missing email alert issue. We think they are just getting delayed in being sent, but we need to investigate the issue further. Hopefully it will get fixed asap.

@cerwinrhiannon Can you remember any of the names of the swaps you are missing? There could be a few still unaccounted for. Make sure to look under Current and Sent swaps. Once you mark a swap as sent it is moved to that list. The Sent swaps used to be under Previous Swaps on the My Swaps page.

@quiltluver You can still find the View all participants link in the swap option box. The box is now located in the upper right corner of swap info pages. See this entry for more info.

@spinjenny Good idea! It would be smart to list the number of "watchers" on the swap info pages. We'll work on that.

So... a bunch of people have not been liking the new text/font size.... The weird thing is that (except for the Top Swaps and Most Recent swap lists) the font should actually appear a bit larger in all the info areas like profiles and swap descriptions. And, the forums have not changed format at all. We may adjust the font size on the sidebar lists and we hope to fiddle with alignments and spacing, but overall the new design was meant to make reading the site easier. If you are having major issues, please take a screen shot and send it along with info about what browser you are using to me at rachel [at] swap-bot.com.

We are also still working through the Markdown format issues. I am sorry if your profiles are still looking wonky.

Despite some of the issues, I actually think this upgrade has gone pretty well. Many of the changes were absolutely necessary and required by our new server, so basically we can't revert to the old version. We will promise to continue listening to everyone's concerns and make improvements as we can.

Thank you very much for all of your help and questions. You are all our beta testers and our quality control team!

I have had a swap cancelled it was between myself and InceyWincy. I didn't check my email until today, but my partner emailed me Saturday about it. Thanks Glenna

CajunLady 06/30/2008

omg I got so skeered!! I tried coming on Swap-Bot about 30 mins to an hour ago, and my FireFox kept telling me "swap-bot cannot be found". I was like, OMG they finally had enough and shot the place!

Thanks R&T!

TANI858 07/1/2008

Please bring back the auto- assign feature for swaps. please its going to take forever to complete swaps if a host has to choose. The host might be biased or discriminatory when chossing partners. please.
