I have that book - it's great!

I am working on making the cupcake like the cover shows. I am using fleece. I cut tapered strips from two different colors, I folded in half. I stacked the two tapered strips and started rolling from the widest point watching as I rolled to make sure that it was tapering evenly. Then I put a couple of rubber bands to hold it. I am using a third piece to wrap the outside. That is where I am having issues, I didn't fold the outside piece so it doesn't look right. I will have to make another outside piece. I was thinking of trying corrogated scrapbook paper. Anyways I am going to unroll and then roll it again with fabric glue, and then glue the outside piece and a bottom piece on. I have some pom-poms for the top somewhere so I will have to search the house or I can use a premade satin rose for the top. Easy Peasy no sewing version. I will post a pic on my Flickr when I have it done.

Oh, I like her! If you like to read blogs... here is Betz White's Blog!

She has some tutorials there. She was also on Martha Stewart (that's actually how I "discovered" her LOL) and she showed how to make the little teacups on the show. :o) Here's the link to the video of when she on the show
