I think this was discussed quite a while ago (like about a year ago maybe). A lot of people suggested that ,if you want to keep a list of your friends, you can just add a section in your profile. |

Just my opinion... I don't want a public list of "friends" because that may lead some people to judge me by my Friends. It might also lead to more cliquish-ness-- something that newbies already have to deal with among veteran swappers anyway. The problem just might get worse. |

straylight suggested private lists, just for each swapper's personal convenience, which I think would be a much better idea than public lists on profiles, for the reason panda mentioned. People have already been judged at times by which groups they are in and who else is in them. :-( |

I was thinking that a Public Friends list might also cause hurt feelings, and lead to some people asking WHY you haven't put them on your "Friends List", etc. Might be more trouble than it's worth here, on a site like this. |

I agree with all the above. I'd like to be able to mark my friends somehow, but privately. Hmmm. Wonder how you can do that? |

I like the idea of a private friends list that would link them to their profile. |

Since we do not have this capability, I started keeping a SB address book and file everyone's info by their SB name. It's not the ideal situatioin as I still have to find their profiles here, but it helps. |

TerryF I did the same thing on index cards so that if something happens to me my hubby will know what I'm working on and what swaps I have lined up. He's been instructed if I get sick, go into the hospital or whatever (which is a possibility because of my cancer), that he's to come on here and drop me from my swaps that haven't been assigned. I couldn't get him to comprehend how to figure out how to check who I send things to so the index card file works perfectly. Everyone I've ever swapped with has a card in there as well as those who I've been partnered up with and haven't sent out yet, but for my own records I mark on the back of the card what we swapped and can always go back and find anyone I want to swap with again. The card file kinda served an unintended dual purpose. |

This isn't really ideal but it helps. When I send a message to or receive a message from someone that I know I will want to converse with again I don't erase it. I just go to my messages click on their name and it takes me to their profile. It is private and a little faster than other ways I have tried. |

I like the idea of a private list. It would be nice if you could utilize it in the form of a drop down list that you can PM to as well. |

Moonspider, I don't usually erase PMs, either. I like CherylLaVon's idea - if I didn't work full-time, I'd probably do it your way, CLV! |

Ok, this may have been previously mentioned, or it may be a silly idea, but I keep thinking about it.
Would it be possible (and/or prudent) to have a way to mark certain people as 'friends'? I have a RL friend on here whose swap-name i can never remember... so when I want to find her profile or pm her, I always have to go back through my own profile comments to find the link to her.
Would it make sense to have a private friends-list linked somewhere for each user? Or is that too much like other networking sites and not the direction Swap-bot wants to go?
