Yep. About a year ago, I signed up for a magic wand swap. Coordinator was assigned as my partner, and she was very nice at first. Claimed she sent it, though a bit late (I don't really care). I never received it. Emails/PMs went unanswered. For my part, I made a beautiful wand with special-ordered scarab beads because my partner said she liked scarabs. She honestly couldn't tell what materials it was made out of, it was made so well. |

I wasn't specifically "flaked on" by the coordinator, but I was very disappointed in how she handled the swap. We were to send a package of collage items on five different themes to the person assigned to send to us, that person would make a collage with whatever theme she chose and send it back. The rest of us sent on time, but the coordinator herself (for whom I was to make the collage) was so disorganized that she had to keep moving the "send-by" date forward because she couldn't manage to send her collage items to me on time. I never once complained, told her it was okay, I understood, etc. Finally I received an envelope STUFFED with things, with a note inside to return anything I didn't use. I made her a terrific collage (and I do say so myself! LOL), on which I spent a couple hours, doing my best work, and returned all her other stuff as well, which of course meant extra postage for me. She rated me a 5 and left a comment saying she liked it and was hoping I'd choose the theme I did. No heart. (Why does this bug me?) |

Yep...I have been flaked by the coordinator. That's why I'm very careful when deciding which swaps to join now. I don't just jump in because I like the swap, I make sure the coordinator is someone I would want to swap with, as well. |

I am very picky about swap hosts too - going with the really good ones is like insurance against not receiving your swap. I can trust that they will do their very best to weed out the problem children. Also, not that I expect hosts to angel, but the good ones will at least try to find angels. I think the swap host is the most critical factor in deciding which swaps I will join. |

WOW! Thanks everyone, I did hear back from her today and boy is she mad. But it just goes to show you that my intuition was right because eventhough she told me she sent it, she says that now she'll send it because I rated her as a flaker. I think the hard part is like mortaine and euphoria stated that you work hard on making a great swap for your partner and get nothing in return. So I shall be very picky the next time and not jump into everything that looks like fun. I'm not sure how to send a link but will try http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/20307 hope this did it thanks everyone |

I have just been flaked on by the co-ordinator. I had hoped that the package was lost but she is deleting pm's and is now partially suspended xx |

This is from Site FAQ and probably the reason for so many co-ordinator flakers. Better yet, start your own! Anyone with a Swap-bot account who has participated in at least one swap (and received at least a 3 rating) can host their own swaps 3 rating!! 3.. That's not even a good swapper to start with. |

I think that for someone to be able to host a public swap while still subject to the newbie restrictions is very strange. Private swaps are a different issue, as 2 newbies may want to set up a 1-to-1 swap between them and one would have to host it, or a group of people who know each other from outside SB may jsut be using SB to handle the mechanics of a swap. |

As a coordinator of swaps it always seems the other way around for me, that I get flaked on in my own swaps. |

I've never done an angle request and not sure how you go about it but I am quite shocked that I got flaked on by the coordinator of the Big Package Swap. I received a message that she sent it on the due date and it came back to her and she was going to resend it but that has been almost 2 weeks ago, with the due date deadline which was 3 weeks ago. It's a US swap so I know it shouldn't take that long and now she won't respond to my messages.
