I coat my nakedly-sent postcards with Modge-Podge...which I also use on them to glue things down, if I am doing a collage card. I don't know if that would be a good option for other things, but I really do like it for my postcards and other small paintings or collages. |

The best adhesive I've ever used is E6000. It's more for attaching things (to the point of cementing really) than covering or collage, but be assured, it's NOT going to fall off. I also just recently bought a package of assorted Allene's fabric glues. I haven't used them all yet but they seem to be working great :D Much better than my crooked stitching that's for sure! I've switched to clear or patterned contact paper rather than packaging tape for cover things. (Or use mod podge). I like the way it looks better because I can cut a piece to the size of my project, on the other hand it's not as clear as good packaging tape so some details do get lost (so I use the mod podge). |

Bucket, I'm not anything like a professional, but I try lots of adhesives. Just curious, the E6000 I just used to attach a few things really REEKS for a day or two. Did I get a bad tube? I haven't heard anyone else mention anything about the odor. It does a great job of attaching items, Choke is definitely right about that. I have used both Mod Podge and Liquitex Matte Gel as a protective coat. I have also used plastic film to cover postcards and sewn clear page protectors on postcards to protect them. For a DRY adhesive to attach lightweight, non-bulky items I love to use photo mounts (the little squares). Sometimes I'm attaching small pieces of paper on top of something else that could bleed from a wet adhesive. It can be tedious to trim for small areas, but I know for sure I won't mess up an ATC or postcard that way. |

Nope, you didn't get a bad tube. It smells awful, but it holds better than anything. Glue dots are great too. |

I like YES! paper glue if I am gluing lots of paper like collaging. I have had problems with mod podge curing completely, it always seems to stay a little tacky. So I use an interior varnish over the mod podge or gell medium. I like the Delta they have satin, semi-gloss and gloss it does not smell terrible and it dries nice and clear and hard. I use tacky glue if an item is a little heavier than paper. Fabric-Tac for fabric projects. E6000 for heavy items (yes it stinks). I have weldbond and jewel tac. I also have glue dots and that red double sided tape is great but expensive. I use wood glue for wood items. Very rarely do I use the hot glue gun which is a prevoius favorite of mine. So I basically have a glue for every possible use. collected over the course of several years. I love the Goldens Gel Medium and their molding paste is a new fun toy I have been playing with. Instead of making glue books I should write a gluebook except I am in no way an expert, unless it is at buying glue items. |

Well, this is sort of a swap question, but mostly a craft question in general.
I make a lot of note cards and have used various types of glue/adhesive, but I'm wondering what those who are a little more "pro" than me use (Etsy sellers or others that use their creations more professionally).
What adhesives do you use? Do you use anything to cover (and protect) the paper bits on your cards (i.e. I use clear packing tape for postcards that I send naked, etc...)
Thanks for your thoughts!
