I like the idea, but $4 for "at least four" items doesn't seem like a high enough minimum amount. I personally don't join swaps in which the minimum value set on a package comes to a dollar or less per item; I'm not really into dollar store stuff. But that's just me. :) |

Thanks for the input, euphoria. I was afraid of scaring people off with a 'too high' amount. What I was thinking was that it would hopefully be more than four items - like some things that were less than a dollar, added - such as lengths of ribbons, a sticker sheet, an blank notecard, tiny ornaments, a handmade fabric pin, a grabbie of embellishments, etc. But, yes, it does seem that that would add more to the value total. The idea is kind of (I think) to have little treasures in an interesting, pretty or cute package. IF I did this, it would be my first swap to host, and I have to say that it makes me nervous. Maybe a value of $8? I am just thinking about this, so if anyone else out there wants to host a Lucky Parcel swap, please go right ahead. I may or may not do this, and if more than one was offered, that would be wonderful! |

I am a member of the lucky parcel group on Flickr and there is no dollar amount sent. People usually enclose a bit of fabric ( like a fat 1/8) in one or two coordinating patterns, some buttons, ribbon (usually 12"), some other embeliishment (like stickers) and a stationary item (notecards, memo pad, pen, erasers, etc) Part of the fun is also in the packaging. |

Lori, I don't think they're talking about 'our' lucky parcel group. There is a 'lucky parcel' group on Swap-bot which is not associated with our Flickr group. Although the founder of the group, 'dreamrains', is also a member of our group. Makes it all a little confusing when people 'borrow' the name of an original group. |

I was giving them "advice" on how we do it on our group because there was discussion on dollar value. I know this isn't the original - can any compare LOL |

"Makes it all a little confusing when people 'borrow' the name of an original group." And shows lack of imagination. |

If there were a U.S. Only Halloween Lucky Parcel Swap, would anyone be interested in joining?
I have never hosted a swap before, but I am seriously thinking about it. It would be a high-ratings only, U.S. only (to keep postage costs down) swap.
I would like to have it be of at least a $4 value with at least 4 (or more!) items in the parcel. And how about 2 partners?
If you aren't sure what a lucky parcel is, search Flickr to see a good variety of them. Keep in mind that with a Lucky Parcel, the packaging and presentation is as important as the contents! :)
Anyone????
