Have you ever looked at the Post Secret site? He gets a lot of questionable postcards! As long as there aren't any truly "naughty bits" showing, I would think you would be OK. |

Heh, well there is one totally naked and naughty bit, but I could possibly cover that with a sticker or something that is symbolic. |

How do you feel about mailing it in an envy? I once questioned an item I mailed on a post card. To me it is not worth the risk. |

I have mixed feelings about using an envelope. I mean the card is still the same size, format, whatever in an envelope, but it lacks that weathered, "took a chance and I made it", kind of trial by fire that the others have been through. I don't know. I haven't even finished composing the card yet so it might not even matter. I might go an entirely different route, but if it would work the way I see it in my head, it would be lovely. |

Well... I have a postcard of very naked women, mailed from Nevada to Massachusetts, that advertises a brothel (legal in most of Nevada). The back message is "Had a great time! View is fabulous." It came from a postcard penpal who I dared to send me something totally rude and inappropriate. It arrived in fine condition. Although... I would not chance the idea now that I live in Pennsylvania. My mailman would probably drive over it a dozen or so times, use it to clean his fingernails, then spit on it for good measure. Oddly conservative suburb I live in, which is one reason we want out as soon as the economy gets a bit better... which may mean I'm here for a while. |

So many questions today. Sorry for flooding the boards.
I want to construct a journal postcard for my friend (one of a series I've been sending her that can be bound together to form a journal of my thoughts) and the concept I think would be best to describe my vision would be to use a "rear view" of a nude lady culled from a very tasteless magazine, so you know this isn't artsy nude photography. It's very explicit and raw. I wanted use the image to riff on the poplarity of gothic arches. Her legs forming the arches and at the apex, her... woman parts.
I'm wondering if I can send something like that through the US postal system? It would go from New Mexico to Maryland, so you know it's heading straight through the bible belt. Since this is a journal entry, I'm partial to it ending up at it's destination so if I need to think of another way to present my idea or else rig a way to hide the nudity, I'd rather know now.
