I'm sure that this has been addressed before, but I am feeling lazy and don't want to search thru old topics... What is the general time-line for receiving one-on-one swaps? I don't want to pester anybody, I just don't really know how long is the appropriate time to wait before sending someone a gentle reminder?

Thanks!

crickey, do i owe you one? i try to be really anal about printing out the info so i don't forget these things. some i can get out right away and but some i want to do but can't do right at the moment... but i ask the person first if that's ok.... i really don't know what the time line is for just regular people doing it... me - i'm just not regular at ALL. :-D

Hmm... I usually send mine out within ten days or so, but as for how long before you PM someone about your stuff... I'm giving it about a month. That gives them about 2 weeks to send and then 2 weeks for it to travel in the mail.

Ditto to what MandiNoel said for me.

no worries, luvcatzzz you don't owe me one! :)

thanks

It also should depend on where the sender is as international mail takes longer, of course, and whether it involves making something specially for that trade.

another question...

in one-on-one swap tags, is it your responsibility to keep checking to see if you have been tagged, and then to track down a person and get their address from them?

If they tag you and never pm you with their address, do you still send to them?

dreamerkins 10/11/2007

good question! i've onlt signed up for a forum list of 1 on 1's once, and i wondered the same thing... (especially since so many of them sound the same, and it isn't always easy to find again...)

Butterfly 10/11/2007

Yes, it's just the right thing to do.

What really bothers me is the people who tag to SEND to you in the Pay it Back games and then never PM for YOUR address. I think they're just scammers, personally, who hope no one notices.

KerrWriter 10/14/2007

I was told that in pay it back, the sender tags the receiver for the address but in Tag you're it, it's the receiver who tags the sender. I think that makes sense but what do I know?

you have it right kerrwriter

Since this is up again... I have a confession... I owe about 10 forum swaps that are here and ready. I'm sorting through emails to get addresses, because I had written down the swap and which forum I had swapped in, but for some stupid reason didn't make a column for the person or the persons addy to just list there... It was dumb, I know. Then I was trying to sort through the forums to find out who picked up my stuff, and duh.... emails are so much easier to sort through. I should have them all addressed and out by the end of this week. No questions. Don't know if any of my recepients will read this, but if so, they'll be to you soon. How dumb, how embarrassing!!!!
