I'm sure this is explained somewhere, but I want to make sure I do this according to the rules.

I have an item I'd like to offer for a trade (a beautiful cross-stitch kit I never used). Do I have to get into one of the long pay-it-forward/back threads/games, or could I just post that I have it, along with the description, and a list of the things I'd be intrigued by in return?
