Ooh, I love that one, classychica. I don't think I've heard it before. I'm a quote whore. There's too many...and song lyrics too, especially from Modest Mouse. This is my absolute favorite, I think: "Be the change you wish to see in the world." -Ghandi |

I have so many that I really love: "The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of."--Blaise Pascal "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."--Anonymous "You've got to jump off of cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down."--Ray Bradbury "We are so accustomed to disguising ourselves to others that we end up disguising ourselves to ourselves."--La Rochefoucault "Action without thought is a form of insanity. Thought without action is a crime."--Albert Einstein "Religion is for those who are afraid to go to hell; spirituality is for those who have already been there and back."--Bonnie Raitt "When you're standing on the edge of nowhere, there's only one way up, so your heart's gotta go there."--Cher, "Song for the Lonely" "You've got to learn to laugh. It's the way to true love."--John Travolta in "Michael" |

The definition of insanity is doing everything exactly the same way over and over, and expecting different results. (not sure who said it...also, this isn't my favorite quote, but I haven't absorbed my favorite into my memory yet...where's that madeline l'engle book...) |

ah, here's one: 'When the artist is truely the servant of the work, the work is better than the artist.' in Madeline L'Engle's book, 'walking on water.' There are so many great quotes in there, but most of them go with other parts of the book. I highly recomend this book! |

In one of those signature lines some forums have I saw the following gems- "Everytime I blink I have a tiny daydream" "Wait, is this where I'm suppose to say something clever?" I collect quotes and write them on my bathroom walls, since I can't afford wallpaper. My favorite is from "Faking it" by Jennifer Crusie "If you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning!" |

"I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself." -D.H. Lawrence And, I've seen this on a paperweight, but I don't know who said it..."What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?" |

You may make free of it with my blessing, dreamerkins, I just wish I could remember where I saw it. Here are a few from Picasso that I like: I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality And this one, which is my favorite: Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up. |

FarStarr, I love that one! It's going up on the wall. Dreamerkins: I have always seen it attributed to Picasso, so I don't know. |

well, maybe that's where she got it? who knows. she does talk alot on that theme in her book: walking on water, reflections on faith and art. (one of my favorite books!) |
“The bread which you do not use is the bread of the hungry; the garment hanging in your wardrobe is the garment of him who is naked; the shoes that you do not wear are the shoes of the one who is barefoot; the money that you keep locked away is the money of the poor; the acts of charity that you do not perform are so many injustices that you commit.
-St. Basil the Great
