How does swapping one-on-one affect ones rate?

I think it works like this. You, the newbie, contact the experienced swapper you want to swap an item with - they have all listed what type of items they are willing to swap. They then set up a swap for just the pair of you. You sign up for said swap. You send them an item, and they proably send one back to you. They rate you. Do a few more swaps like this and you will not longer be a newbie and will have ratings and comments for public swap hosts to check out when you sign up for their swaps. Good luck and have fun.

That's so nice of you veteran swappers, thank you! I just joined swap-bot, but keep coming across threads were people are frustrated with all the flakers! I don't want to get flaked! I just want to exchange crafts in good faith. Some bad seeds are giving all newbies a bad name. :(

I am still fairly new to swap-bot, but finally have a few ratings and could sure use some more, lol. I would be more than happy to help other newbies get rated as well:)) But I need to keep it to USA only....sorry. I am in alot of swaps and have had alot of international postage expense. For right now I need to cut the postage costs as much as possible, but in the future could probably do some international swapping as well:))
