Description:

There are all sorts of obscure holidays each month that many people don't know about. I thought this would be a fun way to celebrate those! If this swap is a hit, I'll do one each month.

What to Do

Go to THIS SITE and choose any of the holidays on the list except Halloween or Breast Cancer Awareness (those are well-known and we are looking for obscure things to celebrate). You can choose a monthly, weekly, or daily one. It doesn't matter.

Then, you'll create something to represent your chosen holiday and you'll send it to your partner along with a short note telling your partner what your chosen holiday is and what date it is (if it's monthly just say it is the month of October, weekly tell which week, and daily tell the date).

Please take your time creating your items. You can make whatever you want, but please make it so that your partner knows you put effort into it.

Partners

You'll have one partner. This is a USA only swap, so shipping costs will be low.

Requirements To Join

  • Minimum rating of 4.9
  • At least 5 rated "real mail" swaps (Type 2 or 3)
  • No recent or unexplained 1's or 3's.
  • I will screen participants prior to assigning partners and I will remove anyone not meeting the requirements.

If you want to make an international version, feel free. Just please link to this swap in your description to give credit.

To Clarify:

The item you make can be anything as long as it is handmade by you and it represents your chosen obscure holiday. It can be an ATC, a handmade postcard, something knitted, or whatever you are good at making.
