Description:

"brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favourite things"

Lets put on our imagination hats: Its 70 years ago, you to your local store and pick up a few things for auntie may, uncle jim or whoever, put them in a box and send them away. Only, the package never arrives. Instead, it comes to someone elses house in 2012.

For this swap we will be sending our partners an old fashoned, blast from the past package. Give the illusion that this is a package that could have been sent 70 years ago. That is, include items that look vintage or are vintage in nice, resendable condition. Exaples could be: soap with a neat vintage lable, some ye olde style candy, a vintage item in good condition, some tea in a vintage-looking wrapper, you get the idea. Include a note with the swap title and your name pretending its 1942, what your life is like, and why you are sending what you are sending. Be creative and have fun. Try not to be too modern in your wrapping, you can wrap in brown paper and string if you'd like, not a reqirement but should earn hearts.

The budget for this swap should be around $3 before shipping.

So to recap you will be sending one partner:

-1 package of ye olde themed item(s) with a worth of $3 before shipping.

-1 note 1940's style describing what your life is like and why youre sending what youre sending

Items are senders choice but you should look at your partners profile to make sure youre not sending something they dont like.

Signup requirements: Since this is a package swap, I am going to be more strict on requirements. Must have ratings of 4.95 or above, no recent unexplained ones or threes in the last 6 months, and newbies must have 5 completed and rated type 3 swaps to join. I will be screening partners and I reserve the right to ban questionable swappers. If you feel you have a special circumstance, feel free to message me and explain. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments or message me.

This is amazing. What a great swap! I have so many things that are from or look like their from that era and I am cleaning house to move to a new home. I could use a few of these swaps!

@OwlAntler I'm so happy you like it! :) I've had the idea in my head for awhile now, paul actually helped me come up with it. If other people show interest in having a couple of these swaps i'd be happy to host another one if all goes well!

What a fantastic idea! (Watching for now, but very much hope to join!) :o)

I don't think the USPS nor FedEx allow string and paper wrapped packages anymore, so be careful. I would say if you wrap in brown paper, tape every seam very well, or they may make you rip it off =(

@kindledwhimsy thanks and I hope you can join too! :)

@pennypuppy thanks for the suggestions. I don't know about twine, but I've send paper wrapped packages a lot and i've never had a problem, but as you said you need to make sure all of the ends that could be easily caught are taped down.
