Description:

I know I'm not the only science-loving-geek here. I'd love to combine my love for art and science, and hope you'll join me. in this swap you'll each create 2 ATCs, with the following themes, and send them to one partner.

  • Scientist (a real person, please)
  • Equation/ Formula/Diagram (should be real, but I'll settle for anything not yet proven wrong :P

you'll also add a note with a few words about the person and formula you've chosen. it's not homework, so really just a few words.

normal rules apply- no flaking, no sticker slapping. I'll check profiles, so if you know yours might look suspicious and you can explain, do it before I ban. I'll angel if need be, but I'd rather not, naturally.

Do the scientist and the formula/diagram ATCs have to be related? As an example, if someone made an ATC with Einstein, would they then have to make the other featuring e=mc2?

suki 12/11/2012 #

No, they can be unrelated!

Great! I am joining this one! Thank you.

This sounds great- and please, forgive my ignorance (I'm new to the site)- I assume (you know what they say about that) that "angeling" means sponsoring/accepting those who do not meet the criteria for a swap? (I looked in the FAQ and on the forums, but did not find a definition of "angel" in regards to this site...)

I'd like to join, but am asking here prior to doing so as I'm new to the site.

I'll wait for your reply. Thanks.

Angeling means that if someone didn't get anything from their swap partner, I will send them ATCs I made, so they will not be left without.

Hey, I was trying to remember the name to recommend it, and finally did! Life Story, by Virginia Lee Burton (author of Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel!) is just ... stunning. I read it when my daughter was too young to appreciate it, and now she is reading it and appreciating the illustrations. So, it's a bit out of date scientifically and socially -- I can monitor that. The descriptions of geologic time and the little murals of prehistoric life are just cool!

Thought it might inspire us some.
