Description:

Who doesn’t love Christmas? This way, you get to celebrate twice – once in creating your journal and getting all excited about the holidays, and once when you read about the other person’s fabulous adventures in Christmasland!

In this journal swap, your mission is to create a journal which is Christmas themed! Choose 25 prompts to use from the list below, and journal them. Please also include a page where you introduce yourself! Some of the prompts are easy, and some require a bit more thought. Both options should be presented in an aesthetically pleasing manner – though this is defined by the journalmaker! This could mean a sketchbook, a handmade book, a notebook – whatever you choose – but decorated to the Christmas theme (you can use whatever you like – stickers, washi tape, drawing, stamping, etc.), and obviously completed to a standard you would like to receive.

Without further ado, the themes!

You can start working on your journal as soon as December rolls around – or even before, if you know your Christmas season is going to get hectic! I will assign partners on November 30 (Australian time). You should have a rating of 5.0 to participate, but if you don't, message me and we can discuss (I'm prepared to make exceptions for someone with a really good reason), and have participated in at least eight Type 3 swaps. To reiterate, if you do not have these prerequisites, but you are still interested, send me a message. Negotiation might be possible.

If you don't have the ratings, and you haven't messaged me, but you've signed up anyway - I will take you out of the swap (to be fair to others who have done the right thing).

This is an international swap. Please be prepared to pay for postage!

Please rate your partner at least a 5 if you receive a journal – it is largely a sender’s choice swap. I am willing to angel any flakers.

That;s a very low rating requirement for such a labour intensive swap. People with 1's still have 4.94 ... So anyone with a 4.8 is going to be VERY dubious. You might like to rethink that rating, unless you feel like angelling a potential LOT of swaps.

Laural0uise 11/11/2014 #

how long is each journal prompt response supposed to be?

angel1985 11/11/2014 #

Lizard - thanks for the feedback. Do you think 4.9 would be more appropriate? I will be going through the profiles to look at any recent no-sends or suss activity so I hope that will help.

Laural0uise - I'd say it depends on the size of the journal. If it is an A4 perhaps half a page minimum, or a whole A5 page.

Net3811 11/15/2014 #

angel1985 I'd make it a 5 and if anyone has less than a 5 they can message you and you can assess their reasons for a less than perfect rating. I've been flaked on two or 3 times in journal swaps and agree with lizard. There's a lot of potential angelling there.

angel1985 11/15/2014 #

Net3811 - That seems reasonable. I will edit the description to reflect the change.

angel1985 11/15/2014 #

In the spirit of disclosure, I have a rating of 4.93, tarnished by one rating three years ago, with no way to change it as the person who gave the rating has unfortunately left Swap-Bot (if anyone knows how to get in touch with UKstash, let me know!!). Like I have said in the description, we can negotiate if you're in a similar situation.

Is there a size requirement???

angel1985 11/16/2014 #

Nothing smaller than A5, but it can be store-bought and embellished, or it can be handmade.

Keruka 11/29/2014 #

I wonder if you'd consider hosting an Aussie version of this? I love the idea but just can't afford another round of international postage :)

angel1985 11/29/2014 #

Keruka - if you'd like to, please feel free - but I'll be leaving this one international =)

Thanks I might put one up :)
