You could paint it, quilt it,embroider it, crochet it, bleach it, stain it etc.or even just find some beautiful fabric and leave it plain. It is senders choice. Please play nice and send only something you would love to receive. Take time and make it special, you could even bless it for the new owner or tuck a crystal inside although not necessary.

I really want to join this swap but I am afraid my sewing skills aren't up to it. Anyone have suggestions or links on how to make nice alter cloths?

I made the minimum size the size of a fat quarter. You can send just a beautiful price of fabric also. Have the fabric store cut you a fat quarter worth. No sewing required. I hope this helps BlueTeaRose15💙💙💙

Traditionally, an altar cloth was to be the dress of the Goddess, so lovely fabric that can be draped is wonderful. I have a number of altars in my home; some altar tops are rectangular, some circles, some small squares. I have one over the top of my toilet, one right here next to my computer.

A beautiful scarf works. I have a few that have crystal grids printed on them. With anything we use intention is the most important. In spring I simply use a piece of lace that was my grandmother's. Each of my altars look different and represent different goddesses or seasons. Google altar cloth and some great ideas should come up.
