Description:

This swap is about food items from different countries. You will go to the local supermarket and buy $7-8 worth of food items for your partner. Try finding local products - something your partner probably won't be able to buy where they live.

The items you send should be non-perishable and easily mailable. (For obvious reasons, it's a bad idea to throw fresh fruit into an envelope and send it abroad. XD) Please make sure everything is in its original packaging by factory.

Any snacks you send can be sweet or savory. (So this includes chocolate and candy as well as savoury items like pretzel sticks and so on.) Try to send a selection of both sweet and savory, unless your partner really only wants one. You can also send (dry) items to drink, like tea, coffee or cocoa powder, but they shouldn't constitute the majority of this swap.

Please check your partner's profile for dislikes and allergies! I'll have to make this swap more or less sender's choice so you'll be able to send all kinds of local specialties (which are most likely not explicitely mentioned on your partner's profile), but at the very least it needs to be something your partner can actually eat! (As an example: don't send anything containing meat to a vegetarian... Should be obvious.) Please also make sure your own profile contains all the necessary information!

When signing up, please state your country in the comments. I will allow 1 swapper per country, so everyone sends and receives internationally.

You might want to fill a correct customs declaration when sending food! You usually find the necessary forms on the internet. It's not complicated - but it saves a lot of time! Food packages really arrive a lot faster (we're talking about weeks of mailing time here!) when they're declared correctly. Don't send any liquids. Don't send any controlled substances. No alcohol and tobacco. (Customs officers hate that trick!) When in doubt, check the quarantine laws of the country you're sending to. (Usually a quick google search helps determine which food items you can't send.)

To participate here, you need at least 10 rated snail mail swaps (type 2 and type 3). I will remove anyone known as questionable, anyone with still fixable bad ratings and anyone seeming fishy in any way. (When in doubt, I'll probably offer a private swap.) Sorry about this, but I need to keep this swap safe!

Ryanne, I'm sorry - you probably overlooked, but there already is a participant from the USA in this swap! So unfortunately, I have to drop you this time... See you in the next " 1 per country" swap?
