Description:

I will be hosting this series of swaps page-by-page as long as people are interested. The intent is to fill a USA standard three ring binder so the dimensions are important.

For this swap you will create one art journal page which is 8.5inx11in (216mm x 279mm - A4 pages are not the same) for one partner. You may use A4 paper and cut about 17.8mm off the top and be close enough to meet requirements. This will make the page about 2mm too short in the width.

The page needs to be sturdy and not just a sheet of paper. Think ATC backing sturdy, like a cereal box, cardstock, thin cardboard mailer (like those flat rate envies), or watercolor paper. The page should not be easy to fold and should not be mailed folded.

June Theme: Bugging Out

The front of the art journal page must be done according to this month's theme, which is open to interpretation by the artist.

The back of the art journal page must be lightly decorated to coordinate with the front. It does not have to be elaborate, just a little something so that it's not blank. It also must include the swap name and your username.

The overall dimension of the page must not exceed 8.5"x11" (21.59 x 27.94 cm).

With the page in the portrait orientation (shorter side on bottom) leave at least a one inch border on the left which is free from hard embellishments, staples, fasteners, or anything which will prevent your partner from being able to punch holes or bind the pages together as they wish. The one inch border can be decorated.

Feel free to experiment with different techniques. This swap is open to art journal beginners but I expect that you will put your best effort in and make something you would love to receive. There is a lot of space on one of these pages so don't just slap some stickers or a few cutouts to a background, add a border, and call it 'art'. Spend some quality time on your page to coordinate with the month's theme.

Do you best work, no sticker slapping, send on time, rate your partners. No recent 1's or 3's or history of late sending or otherwise being a problem swapper.

Please let me know if there are any questions!

I will angel provided you have rated your partner a 1.

I joined last time and did not realize it was international...My partner was in the Netherlands and it cost $13.20 to send it! I cannot do the international ones....

It was basically flat, but the size made it that much.

@Choke can you please explain further what is 'Bugging Out'? I checked the urban dictionary but not quite sure yet :-)

Lucine 05/27/2017 #

@mgallardo68 The meaning does not seem to be that positive; it just a warning;)) But this is what I've found on the internet. Bugging out >>

1 : to flee in panic;

2 : to depart especially in a hurry;

3 : someone or something that is feeling nervous, paranoid, or
inattentive, usually freaking out for no reason, overly dramatic or over exaggerating;

4 : why don't you bug out an leave me alone!!

But I'm looking forward to @choke s explanation.

Lol - I guess a lot of the meaning is lost in translation. I don't really mean for it to be specific, it's meant to give inspiration for any interpretation. Bugging out is most used in American English as #3 above. But it truly is open to interpretation, so find what it means to you :-)

@fairyduster if you keep them completely flat it shouldn't cost more than 4-5 bucks. I've always mailed mine to @Lucine and the most I've ever paid was 4 something because it was heavy, normally it's 3 something.

Thank you @choke and @Lucine !
