Description:

A postalette is a letter/envelope combined. The finished product has to meet minimum postal standards of size:

From the USPS website:
"If a mailpiece is 1/4 inch thick or less, it must be rectangular and at least 3-1/2 inches high by 5 inches long.

All mailpieces must be at least 0.007 inches thick."

You will have one partner. Create a postalette and mail it to your partner.

To create it, use whatever method you are most comfortable with. Drawing, pen and ink, doodling, zentangle, watercolor, collage, whatever. Decorate both sides of the paper. Leave enough room to write a short note on the inside and leave room for the address on the outside.

Then, just fold it up, add a pretty sticker to close it and mail it off! Don't forget to add the ZIP code to make Mr. ZIP happy!

Please, no extras. If you add extras, you'd have to tape up the sides to keep them from falling out, and that kind of defeats the whole charm of the postalette.

I'm going to make this one USA only. I'm just a little worried that a sticker on the back to keep it closed wouldn't withstand the international mail system. If anyone wants to do an international version, you can copy and paste this swap if you would like.

This is sender's choice, so you can begin your creation now, and have it ready when you sign up.

Have fun with this!

.... I was just asked if a store-bought postalette would work, instead of creating one. Yes, but if you use a ready made one, please be sure the outside is decorated in some way, at least. Plain mail is so boring, don't you think? :-)

For the inside, think pretty stationery. You don't have to go overboard. Just make it like stationery.
