Description:

I just got done completing a journal swap and am anxious to start another!! So I wracked my brain until I came up with a new/fresh idea...at least I hope it is...forgive me if I am stepping on anyone's toes....

For this swap you will have 1 partner. You will keep a journal for up to 2 months! You will read a newspaper every day and clip out an article/articles that you find interesting, or that is "news" in your area...you will include it in your journal along with a journal entry stating why you chose that particular article and if you agree/disagree with it--you know things like that. For bonus entries you could add in funny clippings from your local papers (political cartoons, Ann Landers type stuff etc etc) MUST BE A TOTAL OF 50 entries in the journal....That should be a fairly easy quest over a 2 month span of newspapers.....

I think this will be a great way to learn about each other's intrests and ways of life....also learn a little bit about another area of the USA.

THIS SWAP IS FOR USA SWAPPERS ONLY!!!!

Newbies welcome with 5 completed & rated swaps (NOT e-swaps) and a filled out profile! All others must have a 4.98 or higher to join, and if you have 1's or 3's there must be a valid explaination! I will ban shady swappers.

Thanks for letting me know about the swap Tracy! I am looking forward to it. Lots of news in my paper. :0)

It's on my watch list and sounds like fun.

I don't always manage to pick up a "real" newspaper (sometimes I do), but I always read my local news online everyday. Would we be allowed to print articles from the internet?

YankeeUnicorn 05/12/2009 #

@ilove2smile For this one I would really like it to be be real newspapers....

@shfacey Thanks! Hope to see ya sign up!

I already have 2 articles!

YankeeUnicorn 05/21/2009 #

@f150girl Great:) I have been clipping away too:) Kinda a fun idea I think:) It's neat to see what goes on in other peoples neck of the woods:)

This is my first journal swap, are we supposed to use a standard sized journal,a spiral, or do we just come up with our own? I was trying to figure something out that would be large enough to hold the clippings............

ChelelosGirl 05/21/2009 #

I thought to use a spiral one-subject notebook - just enough pages for article clippings and comments, I'm just getting started today! Man, this will be a great way to get to know another city!

scrapkween 05/21/2009 #

I would think if we did use a spiral that it would be nice to decorate it?If its a plain one that is.............

YankeeUnicorn 05/21/2009 #

@scrapkween Most people do decorate the journal as part of the swap. Using 1 subject notebooks are fine....

I am enjoying this.

This is turning into a cool swap. I'm learning more about where I live. I guess I usually just skim through the paper.

Glad you all are having fun with the swap! Can't wait to swap the journals:)
