Description:

I'm hosting this as a public swap, but thought I'd host it here as well.

Let’s share paper scraps. I know you all must have them. I’m talking about the bits & pieces left over from our various art projects. You know, the ones you just can’t bear to throw away, thinking they’ll be good for something in the future (smile). However, the thing with me is that I forget to use them and instead cut what I need from a bigger piece, and then I end up with even more scraps. A vicious cycle it is…

Thus, for this swap, you will send each of your two partners at least 25 different scraps (more if you want to). Please send a nice variety of paper colors & sizes (cardstock, textured paper, decorative paper, etc.) Please do not send any magazine pages, calendar pages, newspaper, or plain copier-type paper. This swap is sender’s choice on colors. (If you get a color you don’t care for, you could always modify it by adding dye ink; or re-gift it).

Minimum scrap size: ½” x 2” (1.3cm x 5.1cm) Maximum scrap size: your choice

This is an easy swap and it’s open to Newbies. All I ask of anyone is that if you sign up, please follow through and send your swap. I reserve the right to ban anyone I think might flake. No one likes flakers!

Here are a few ideas for using scraps:

  • Thin strips make nice borders – you can even punch a decorative edge.
  • Stamp a word on a scrap. Cut out (or tear out for rough edge) and adhere to another layer for a colorful frame. You could then adhere that to another layer and so on, for several colorful frames.
  • Cut strips and put side by side for a fun background
  • Randomly collage for a neat background
  • Add a few colorful pieces to the outside of your envelope; stamp an image or inspirational word across them.

This is such an easy swap that I hope those who are watching will sign up to play. I put my swap together last night, and I quickly surpassed 25 scraps and it didn't even dent my scraps. I may have to do another swap with 50 pieces :)

Come out & join in this fun swap and get some new scraps to create with.

I missed this version of this one! I did the public one though. If you host more, I'll happily play again! I have tons of scraps.
