Description:

This is the first in a series of paper dolls made to resemble various antique dolls. We will be starting with the glazed china head doll, or Parian type dolls. After that we will work our way throug various other kinds like the German and French dolls like the Jumeau. If there is enough interest, we will continue with dolls from other eras.

For this doll you will be creating a doll whose face, head, and body resembles a glazed-head fashion doll similar to the swap photo. Here are the swap requirements:

Sent ON or BEFORE the send-by date!!! This is one of the swap requirements in every swap on the 'Bot, and I will be restating it on every swap I host. If you die, I require at least a week's notice (kiddin' here!). I will, however, sort through the participants and remove anyone who is a chronically late sender.

Doll will be at least six inches tall.

Backed with sturdy tagboard or cardboard.

Must have at least one REMOVEABLE dress/ensemble with fasteners that allow the it to stay on when dressed. The outfit should be embellished prettily!

The doll's body needs to have drawn on or attached underclothing AND shoes/boots.

Make it pretty and one that you would love to have! If you can't bear to part with her when she is done, then you will know you have done a great job!

I am including a link to a paper doll already created that you could use if you wanted to, but realize that she is just a pale shade in her current form! If you use her, she will have to be printed, backed, embellished, and added to like crazy in order to qualify for this swap!

She is HERE

Have fun with this, and remember, if there is enough interest, we will do a series of antique dolls!

What a darling idea! I love "frozen Charlotte" dolls. I hope to be back to swapping by then!!

I am adding a little bit of a note here**** After looking up online, I realize I am confusing a couple of different kinds of dolls. I apologize to those who are more kowledgeable than I on this matter. The Parian dolls are made of a special unglazed bisque that is similar in appearance to Parian marble. They have untinted skin tones and are not glazed head dolls. Nor are they bisque headed dolls. Again, my apologies for any confusion this may have caused anyone. I am sure that whatever type of doll you have chosen to create; bisque, china, or parian - your partner will love it!
