Description:

You will make at least 5 envelopes for 1 partner, but here's the twist. Most of you know what nesting dolls are right? They are a large doll which opens to reveal a smaller one, which you can also open to get a smaller one, and a smaller one, and a smaller one, etc. For this swap, you have to start out with an envelope made by you, and then put inside that envelope a handmade envelope a bit smaller, then inside that envelope put in one that's a bit smaller, and another one that's smaller, etc. until you have a teeny tiny envelope, and inside that envelope you put in a small treasure. This treasure can be a lucky coin, charm, stone, pretty picture, tiny card, tiny art, etc.

For ideas for what to put in the smallest envelope, please check your partner's profile. Keep in mind you need to make and send at least 5 envelopes to a partner. However, if you want to challenge yourself, try making 7 or 8 or more that nest. Only seal the envelope that your envelopes are being sent in, so that your partner can use the envelopes on the inside if they choose to do so. I know it sounds confusing, but once you get started I know you'll have fun making them nest.

Here's a tip for templates: find one online that you like and print it out. Then shrink it down and print, and keep doing that until get the number of envelopes you want to nest.

Newbies are welcome with a well-filled out profile. I will check everyone before assigning partners and reserve the right to ban anyone I think might flake. No one likes flakers! Please play nice!

Are you counting the outside envelope (the one you seal) as one of the five or is that separate ?

@aubreysmom - hmmm...I hadn't thought of that. My thoughts are "no, the outside envelope that you seal is not part of the nesting 5 (or however many you choose to make)."

Thanks for clearing that up!
