Description:

Here is a simple swap to help us begin the new year in old school style! We will be sending our partner one thing, Old School Skills style, with which she can start the new year! (Items do not have to be New Year's Eve/ New Year's Day themed- just something your partner will use and hopefully enjoy.) Purchased and handmade items are both fine for this swap. Thrifted items are also fine if they are in good condition. No spending limit on this but please put some thought into selecting or making something your partner would like.

To me, Old School Skill things with which someone could start the new year would be: a good book and maybe one with information about sustainable living or an old-fashioned story, a favorite winter drink mix, something warm and comfortable that we made or that someone made, a book of favorite recipes, craft supplies for your partner's favorite crafts, candles, an antique your partner could enjoy throughout the new year, something to use when she is baking from scratch, and really anything old-fashioned, handmade, or sustainable that your partner would enjoy and find as a special surprise for use during the year. Mass produced commercial items probably aren't appropriate unless they have an old-fashioned, D.I.Y., or sustainable living theme.

International.

Please do not sign up if you cannot send or cannot send on time. Will have to drop anyone with strings of ones or threes, recent unexplained ones or threes, or general fishiness, before partners are assigned.

This sounds interesting except I'm a little stumped on what would be considered appropriate for this. Can you give some examples/suggestions for the less imaginative of us?

Loricritt, thank you for your interest. I'm sorry to have not given examples. I gave so many examples in the past I was afraid people were tired of seeing all of them in my swaps! :) Some examples are included now.
