I was/am/and will always be extremely sorry for what you've had to endure because of something I said. I never in a million years would have realized that I had any way about me that would sway how grown people react.

I am frankly embarassed that adults would behave that way, but I am proud of you for weathering through the storm and coming out of it a better person than I was. The experience taught me more than a few things, but I'd rather have learned it another way.
