I've been away from the Bot for a while, and am taking it slowly. I am currently 9 months pregnant, and my son is due 1/27. I am looking so forward to my wonderful bundle of joy!!! I will update the rest of my profile over the next couple of weeks, as time and appointments for baby permit.

Hello, and thank you for stopping by! My name is Colleen, and I live in Portland, Oregon, and I’m 39 years old.

I love to read! A few of my favorite books are: Jurassic Park (read 6 or 7 times-- I’m on my 3rd copy of the book!), Tunnel In the Sky (along with Robert Heinlein’s other YA books: The Rolling Stones, Red Planet, Have Space Suit-- Will Travel), Harry Potter series… I also like things written by Bently Little, Esther Friesner, Preston & Child (together & on their own), Italo Calvino, and have just gotten into the works of Jim C. Hines.

Jurassic Park, Tremors, MIB, Serenity, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Alien movies, Independence Day, Armageddon, Indiana Jones movies (except #2, which I thought was #2, except for Mr. Ford being in it), Star Wars episodes 4 through 6, Mysterious Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth (classic, not any of the new versions), You’ve Got Mail, Sleepless In Seattle, Romancing the Stone, all the Harry Potters, Australia, X-Men movies, 2012 (frickin‘ AWESOME special effects!)… well, this could go on forever! Like my taste in music, it varies!

I listen to a wide variety of music, everything from classical to heavy metal, except some rap and, please-- no twangy country!

Hmmm… TV around here is mainly Food Network and SyFy these days… I adore Alton Brown, he’s funny and smart, and makes learning about food and cooking fun. I also love watching chefs battle, a la Iron Chef and Chopped. Ghost Hunters, GHI and GH Academy are awesome! On regular TV, I tune in to Supernatural, Ghost Whisperer, House, Bones, Stargate Universe, Doctor Who, Sanctuary, Golden Girls (yes, I said Golden Girls and Murder, She Wrote, too!)… My television is almost always on, but I usually am not actively watching it unless one of the above shows is on. Even then, I’m either crafting during it, or reading during the commercials.

I have so many hobbies, and enjoy so many crafts… ATCs and Skinnys are at the top of my list, but I also enjoy Inchies, collage, paper crafts of all sort, rubber stamping, watercolor and acrylic painting (usually abstracts), cross stitching and embroidery, quilting… Pretty much, if it uses paper and/or thread and fabric, I’ve tried it (except quilling… it looks too fiddly!). I’ve also done some beadwork in the past, but I haven’t been doing much of it lately.

Bright colors, especially electric blue, lime green, and purple, especially when they are combined together with orange and black. I love combining colors that don’t “normally” go together… For example, I don’t usually care for too much yellow, but it goes so well with purple that I put up with a bit of it! I love almost all animals, especially cats, big and small. People think I’m a bit odd, though, since I love rats, bats, snakes and crocs just as much as I like cats, dogs, koalas, and penguins! To me they are just as cute & cuddly!!! I like fantasy/horror/science fiction things: fairies, unicorns, mermaids, vampires, werewolves, aliens, cute robots… Not just these things, but many more that fit in these categories. I like ribbon, lace, buttons, threads and flosses, fabric. I love paper and embellishments and ephemera. Ten Two Studios and ARTchix have the most fabulous things! I love random mail. I’m a big fan of whatever YOU find interesting, fun, unusual, fantastic… I like that you’ve looked over my profile to get some ideas-- that’s awesome! But please don’t feel limited by what’s here-- don’t be afraid to let you Muse(s) fly free! As long as what you send is something you’re proud of and happy with, I’m sure I’ll love it!

I am a non-smoker. I am allergic to cigarette smoke, but have never had a problem with any swaps I’ve received so far. I’m betting I never will, unless you’re thinking of sending me a lit cig, LOL!

Extras are nice and often appreciated, but please don’t feel obligated to send anything, unless you really want to! I will sometimes send extras, but I never, ever expect a heart because of it! And please don’t be upset if I don’t give a heart for extras-- I rate on the swap itself! I would rather you spend your time putting genuine effort into the swap, than worry about trying to please me (or bribe me, LOL) with extras. I know hearts are a touchy subject with so many people, and that’s why I’m letting you know my opinion here: Hearts are earned by a great, thoughtful swap, not bought with extras.
