Mail alias: snout (in case you see this pop up in the mail ;)
I will be keeping my swap numbers low for awhile to focus on mail art, decos and branching out/playing with art. If you are interested in exchanging mail art, decos, or journal tip-ins let me know!
There are TONS of swaps that interest me. If I do not join a swap that you think I would like it is not from lack of interest, it is to keep my swap load manageable. Feel free to pm or comment with things that you think would interest me.
Right now I am most interested in unique swaps, one-on-one swaps and random mail art (separate from the rating system).
~ I am very open to private swaps and interested in meeting new people ~
A little about me: I've doodled and crafted a little here and there, but have just recently made time for visual expression. My past experience is mostly focused on music and literature/writing. I work part-time in a downtown library (previously worked in a teen department) and love it! It gives me plenty of free time to pursue creative endeavors, take walks, and daydream. I enjoy escaping into the world of literature, film, and games. I live with my partner, Adam, of four years who is a part-time reference librarian, composer and musician, and my large, friendly, clumsy cat Cameron. I am a vegan and an atheist. See interests below for more.
I'm always up for hearing something new. I like a little bit of everything.
Some of the artists I like: Neil Young, Charles Mingus, Wayne Shorter, Nirvana, Joy Division, David Bowie, The Pogues, Led Zeppelin, Arnold Bax, Type O Negative, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Jeff Buckley, The Cranberries, John Coltrane, Keb' Mo', Tab Benoit, Muddy Waters, Kate Bush, Type O Negative, Thelonius Monk, Eddie Harris, John Zorn, Belle & Sebastian, Danzig, Dinosaur Jr., Aphex Twin, Burzum
I enjoy a variety and will give any genre/author a shot!
Some I have particularly enjoyed:
Books: Jellicoe Road, Saving Francesca, The Piper's Son, Slaughterhouse Five, Tender Morsels, Infinite Jest, A Clockwork Orange, Wuthering Heights, The Road, The Lorax, Hunger Games trilogy
Authors: David Foster Wallace, Melina Marchetta, H.P. Lovecraft, Joyce Carol Oates, Grimm Brothers, Emily & Anne Bronte
Fairy Tale Related (not just written word): I love the original Grimms' Tales and in general old tales and fables. (I will soon list a couple of my favorite tales here) I also enjoy modern retellings, such as Tender Morsels (Margo Lanagan) and Briar Rose (Jane Yolen). The Storyteller series (T.V.) by Jim Henson is incredible, the fairy tales more than the Greek. Into the Woods is a fun collaboration of tales, though I am not as in to musicals as I once was, but I like the addition of the horrific side of the tales and continuing unhappy endings. As a kid I loved the tale of Beauty and the Beast (not Disney).
The Labyrinth, First Blood (Rambo), Dark Crystal, Almost Famous, Antichrist, Empire Records - also have a weakness for various Jane Austen and Bronte sisters adaptations, I watched many of these growing up
Directors: David Lynch, Werner Herzog, Jim Henson, Lars von Trier
Old T.V. w/o converter box, so these are watched via DVD: The Wire, Treme, True Blood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, The X-Files, Millennium, The Storyteller, Battlestar Galactica

If you have another idea let me know, I'm up for a challenge ;)
Unless a swap is profile specific, please feel free to express yourself however you like! I love to see what others create and to learn new techniques.
Group stuff: I love being in groups that have great swaps and/or great forum action and try to be active in the groups I have joined. If a group has died or my participation is low to nonexistent I will not stick around, but may keep it in mind if something changes.

P x
Hi! I have set up a sequel for green booklet swap if you're still interested to join: Inspired by postage stamps green booklet #3. :)
This cheeky nurse has come to say hello for 'profile pin up 3'. Happy swapping :)
Thanks for the welcome! I'm already a little too addicted ;-) It's nice to see another veg*n on the boards! I'd love to do a private swap sometime. Let me get my sea-legs...er, swap-legs...in the "easy" public swaps first. Do you like receiving knitted or sewn items? If so, what kind of stuff--practical, whimsical, silly?
Received the envie of travelers today. Thank you so much. I finally get to see an example of all the different kinds :)
Glad you liked the mail art...I do scan lots of things. You know how you just hate to use up that picture because you may think of something better later??? Well, the printer ink company loves me.
I got your package of FBs/LBs/sticker bags and stuff (is there a collective term for all the types of bags/books?). It is awesome, I understand much better now about slams and I hadn't realised there could be so many types of bag! I will have to learn more about decos so that I can do something awesome for yours :) Thanks so much for this RAK!!! :D
