FLICKR CONTAINS SPOILERS

Me and My Family

-I live in South Texas, where it is WAY too humid to be normal. I am a substitute teacher and one-on-one aide for SpEd kids. My job is very fulfilling, and I want to become a full-time art teacher one day, this is a great way to open doors! I have a morbid sense of humor, I am a pessimist, I am sarcastic. I put extreme effort into my swaps, I expect my partners to do the same. I usually tailor to my partner's profile. I usually rate swaps at the end of the week unless something needs to be addressed. I am up for private swaps if we share interests or can mutually benefit.

-I have a fiance, "J" , he is pretty darn awesome and I love him to bits. we met in high school and have been hooked since. We have been together five years now. He enjoys drawing, music and playing video games. His favorite anime/mangas are: rurouni kenshin, naruto, and one piece. He loves Bon Jovi, Train, Dir en Grey and Relient K. He takes commission work for drawings. Pm me for details.

-I have 3 mice, all female. I also own 1 cat, male. his name is Demon, and rightfully so :) He is like a child to me. I bottle fed him from 4 weeks old because he was abandoned, and the runt. He is a gorgeous gray cat, with a tuft of white hair on his chest. He looks somewhat like a Korat and a Russian Blue. Pics of him on my flickr, under "graphics" folder. He enjoys the weird rubbery toys from the quarter machines, not sticky, just rubbery. He picks them up with his paws and throws them into the air....weird I know.

Comment: Amazing Warhol postcard! I have to agree that Dairy Queen IS Texas--we have driven all the way to Big Bend, and no matter how small a town is after San Antonio, it WILL have a DQ with clean restroom facilities for kids! My only problem with Texas is the Houston heat and humidity that last for 6 months with no relief! I HATE Texas summers! Thanks for getting this group rolling. I'll try to think of a swap to post as soon as I can! Enjoy the week-end!

Comment: Brittany, your long poem was well written. I enjoyed reading it. Your bookmarks were fine, but I agree with you that laminating the thin paper would work, or maybe use thicker, sturdier paper. The butterfly one is a beauty.
Response: Why thank you. :)

I was just reading the thread about your swap on "completely inappropriate swaps", and wanted to say that I'm so glad you're sticking to your guns on this one. Laughing about things takes AWAY power from it. Art and humor are the right place to play with these kind of topics, and if you can't approach an inappropriate subject like racism in a group called completely inappropriate swaps, then where can you!? You're right in this debate, and you're brave for standing up. Thank you.... Carrie

Thx for letting me know you got the RAK - woo hoo - yay for USPS! Enjoy! : )

earthnk on May 10, 2013:

ROCK ON witcho' bad self :) stand tall to your swap and let the "wigouts" talk to the hand. Those who flap up nerve to spout indignant need to stfu before brown turds Jettison from their pie hole. We all carry seeds of racism innocuous until watered.

;)

I was wondering what you meant about "soapbox" - LOL! Thanks for the warm welcome - it's good to be here : )

Thank you for the list of books that you should have read in highschool on the great Andy Warhol postcard! I've never even heard of one of them! I've read four of them so far (not in highschool, we had different books on our reading list in Germany).
